I tried to install clockworkmod recovery.
When i rebooted my phone, recovery doesnt turn on, so i wanted to solve it, when i went to root explorer but he written that i dont have root access.
I went in to menu but i doesnt found super user.
So i went to pc and rooted my again phone. When i turned on my phone, i got access to clockworkmod recovery. I pressed ,,reboot system,, button.
Phone rebooted and when it turned on i still dont have root access.
What should i do to have permanent root? Couse i have root just for clockworkmod recovery

I've flashed using seus , and I want to install xrecovery so I used z4root to get root but when I try install xrecovery via the apk it fails an it fails on last 4 items "cp not found"
So yeah any ideas would be nice ,
Thanks

I also had the problem that some of the items could not be installed.
However when you try to reset and go into recovery, everything seems to work for me.
So just try to reboot and enter recovery (when screen turn back on, press the back button a few times).
Maybee it will work for you too.
I had 4 things missing but it still worked

I flashed the alien rom last night and after I did that I wanted to flash the new theme so I went to the recovery mode but it wouldn't go so I went to check superuser and it said you do not have root. So my question is what do I have to do to get root back so I can flash the theme?
I don't know If it's the same for the atrix, but when I lose root on my inspire , I go into rom manager and flash superuser. Go to download rom and its in the extras tab

Go to development and search for the root flashable zip for cwm. Its easy and it'll fix you right up. Happened to me

Same thing happened to me yesterday when I went from GB to Alien 4. Only way to fix it was to re-root the phone.
Works perfect now that I re-rooted and restored the apps/data with Titanium Backup.

Try downloading the su from the market, maybe the one saved to ur phone is outdated and not recognized. Worth a try.

Su is useless because they phone is not rooted.
Okay so then what?
I rooted my device and unlocked it and then used tenfar's recovery to boot into recovery and flash alien like its suppose to. Then I get to the home screen and I lost root (no surprise 2nd time) should I reroot and then install the theme. Because it looks like I have the rom on my phone.
Please help me!
JR
did you reroot and then flash theme.zip?

I was saying it may have the file path setup without the apk superuser. Alien should be rooted, I am on build 4.

I tried using all the steps about copying the Update.zip file to sdcard, it didnt work. Error message came when reinstalling packages is (Invalid Signature) in the recovery menu.
I tried z4root, didn's work either.
I am helpless.

superoneclick. that is all
Careful!
SuperoneClick does it!
Careful with rooting my friend. I got a Galaxy S bricked within 1 week, hard bricked.
Do you have android 2.2 or 2.1 and do you have usb debugging enabled?

Have you tried using the toolbox?
root
Just find z4 root app install and it will root you.
I installed super one click. Its done!
But, I installed ROM Manager and cant flash it.
Did you open rom manager and hit the top tab and pick vibrant?
Its probably because you have 3e recovery! The easiest way is to flash back to 2.1 eclar, use z4root then flash CWM with rom manager thats how I did it

just updated superuser app form the market and it killed my root access. and now when i access any app which requires root its not working. i tried to root the phone again with this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200167
on cmd it says permission denied.
can anyone tell me how to get the root access back..
same thing happened to me....had to reflash whole rom.

no fixing permissions did not worked. hav to flash the rom again as my data/wifi is also not working now (wifi gets connected but internet doesnt work)
all this happened due to this ****ty superuser update...
I fixed it yesterday, downloading the SuperOneClick 1.9.5 (NOT the lastest one) and Unrooting, then Rooting again (Choose GingerBreak as root method). Should work fine for you too. There will be two SuperUser apps, but just reboot and then will be only one.
Remember to NOT update SuperUser or at least don't update the binaries, because they have problems.
you can update binary but not the app....
Apparently, the maker of Superuser thinks he compiled the binary for ARMv7 (not on purpose)...
I saw there's a new binary now (3.0.2). I will try it out and see if it works now.
---
Confirmed! It's fine with the latest binary.
In case you haven't seen: http://androidsu.com/2011/10/i-updated-to-3-0-1-binary-and-lost-root-help/
---
After rooting updated the binary OK (giving root permission to the app itself). But after a factory reset, no app can get (or prompt for) root permission.
So, not working...
why you flash rom over again
if you flash this file through recovery you will get your root acces back
Same thing happened with me. I restored the nand
back up .
that helped me.

It happened to me also. I got Root back, but now I'm afraid to update the Superuser app.
Mine is okay.

The guy (ChainsDD) explained on his webpage what's happening. Visit it both if you are simply curious or in need of a fix because you lost root access.
This bug hits me ! I have to restore my nand! Beware! don't know the latest app in the market is fixed, I'm afraid to update now my superuser app.
edit : i read the explanation there. Thanks chainsdd

i had that problem 2 and i uninstalled the last update and now everything is ok !
I had the same issue when I tried to update the binary to 3.0.1. I chose to flash an updated ROM, then update the app and binary, and everything is running fine now. App = 3.0.6; Binary = 3.0.3

I dont know too much about this sort of stuff either, but I managed to root my galaxy 5 in a couple of seconds after googling it.
Download universal androot. It rooted my galaxy 5 in a couple of seconds. All I had to do was download the app, install it and then run it
Try googling "root samsung galaxy i5500 universal androot" and click the second link, the one from galaxy5android.blogspot.com
Hope if works! Good luck!
You should be able to find everything with Google if you need to though.

This is right. You can't root your G5 with cwm. Odin won't recognize your G5 without root. But when you have rooted it, it should say "device added" or something like that. Then follow the instructions.

I have rooted my G5 with Odin Multi Down_ v4.28 and installed CWM 6 right after. You can find tutorials and links on this forum, or madteam, whichever you like
