[Q] help please?? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi there a while ago i unlocked my bootloader but i didnt do it right so ive had no data signal, now i still havent locked it again since i have no sim for the phone but im gettin a new one soon and so am trying to relock the bootloader, now comes my problem.
my phone cannot be recognised by my computer as being in flash mode, it ive tried using flashtool but that just says i need to update my drivers which i have tried but my laptop wont let me, i have also tried this on my desktop given the same results. both running windows 7.
hope someone can help me asap thanks

Try this drivers for Flash Mode
link
When you connect phone with PC check the Device manager.
P.S.
adb drivers
and maybe useful drivers from SE site

Hey,
When I unlocked my bootloader, I remembered that one of the common problems was complete signal loss after unlock. After using msm7227_setool2.cmd, sometimes, signal will be lost as a result. So instead, the troubleshooter instructed that you used msm7227_semc.cmd. After I did this, it was fine.
I am not sure if this will help you but I saw no harm in trying.
Thanks for everything again man!

I broke my phone

Hello everyone,
I tried to update my o2 mini s G4 WM5 device to WM6 and everything went ok. At work i have installed some software and plocies on my devices, which i didn't wat to keep, so i tried to reflash the device, in the same way i flased it in the first place. The problem is that now it is stuck on the Bootloader screen . When i connect the cable i can see the USB text.
I have read a bit about it, and people are saying to use the original o2 rom, or the wizard love one. Can i use any? If so, where can i fond it as the only love one which i found is Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar so i think it is a G3 rom isn't it?
Thank you,
Wooju
and one more thing, how do i flash the software into the phone if it is stuck on the bootloader screen? When i connect it to the pc, the active sync says it is not connected...
Thank you,
it will flash if you are in bootloader mode. flash to the rom that your device shipped with then start over.
Hello,
i tried to flash it again, firstly with RUU_Wizard_1050402_101_11210_O2_ENG.exe then with HTC_Wizard_Rom1.rar which i found in the internet. In both cases i got error 263 (that it can't connect to the device).
When i connect the phone to the pc i can see that it is detectet as ie the drivers instalation wizzard appears...
Any ideas? Is the phone broken completely?
Thanks

S3 Bricked [Soft?]

Hello all, I have a GS3 international GT-I9300
I'll try to go through the story as fast as I can and give as much detail so you guys can understand how I got here.
Bought the phone unlocked, I was stock, I rooted and then I decided to install a new ROM. I went with Resurrection Remix, it was working great. I did this on a desktop back home. They released a new update to RR so I did a OTA update with "Update Me" apparently the thing flashed but it didn't, the phone still worked but NFC wasn't working as well as having lost root access and some other stuff wasn't working correctly, but I lived with it.
I moved to Florida (home is in NY) and I have a laptop with me, for some reason my laptop used to be able to transfer files to my S3, but it wasn't doing it any more after a while. So it would just charge it. I was in a hotel room last week trying to tether via USB but the PC wasnt having it, it could not locate the phone. This week I moved to a different hotel with internet and decided I would flash stock on my S3 to get rid of all these bugs and get root again, I tried flashing stock through recovery and it wasn't going, so I tried flashing RR again (this time downloaded from the site RR site) and it worked. Still no USB connection but I had root back. I looked around my PC and apparently the Samsung drives are not installing or something on my PC. I installed Kies, but nothing, I tried a stand alone driver install and nothing, so I just gave up and bought Mobile Odin pro from Gplay to try to flash again.
Mobile Odin for some reason (I blame it on myself) wasn't finding/flashing stock so again I decided to try and flash RR and see what would happen. It flashed RR and turned on fine. Then I just decided to look for an NFC fix on XDA. Once I found my NFC fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32029713&postcount=8367) I decided to just copy the files to the system folder, NFC still not working, rebooted and NFC still no working, so I figured I would try to flash the fix through mobile odin seeing as how I can't get my PC to pick up on the USB. I tried flashing but MO just kept bouncing it back and re-booting into RR. Tried again and no flash. So I decided to again try and flash stock. I tried going into Recovery, the phone shut off like it always does, came back on but stayed in the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 logo and would not move. I shut it off again, tried turning it on again and still stuck on the galaxy logo. Now, if I leave the phone off and plug in the USB, it won't show the battery charging image, it will actually turn straight onto the galaxy logo again and stay there. I can get the phone into download mode, but like I said my pc won't recognize the drivers.
Now, here are my questions:
What happened?
Can this be fixed?
Am I an idiot?
If I can get the drivers installed on another PC as well as Odin (1.85), will the new PC "see" the S3 or are the drivers on the phone deleted as well? (if that sort of thing can happen, idk.)
I'm going to see if I can borrow a buddy's PC and download the drivers as well as odin to try and bring my S3 back to life, I just want to know, what happens if I can't get the other PC to pick it up ether because the drivers on the phone are deleted (if that's a thing) or what I can expect if it is connected.
What are the steps or guides to follow here? I just got it into Download mode and it says on the top of the screen:
ODIN MODE
Product name: GT-I9300
Custom Binary Download: Yes (2 counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
sorry , i am sometime getting headache reading long english text so i just briefly look over.
your PC doesn't recognize your S3 ? is that correct ? hmmm , is it possible that your PC (Microsoft Windows I assume?) system is damaged due to something like virus or some reasons ? i have encountered that kinda problem before and be OK after i reinstalled the system.
If it's a soft brick, then it can defiantly be fixed. You might, however, lose your data along the process.
Be glad it's not hard bricked
It happened to me many times, USB error "unknown device" connected. Only fix for it was reinstalling Windows so better if you can use different PC or laptop. Install Kies and other USB drivers. Restart computer, download and run Odin v 3.0x. Flash your phone.
If this doesn't work then maybe your phone have a problem with USB port?

Don't forget to delete kies as you only need the drivers

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try to fix tit today, I didn't get a chance to do it last night. If anything I'll update you guys with what's going on.
Like I was saying, I'll try using a different PC to fix it. Now, if I can't get Odin to recognize the phone, what would be the next step?

[Q] Another Security Error [P769]

Hello to all since this is my first post on these forums! And to just say thank you to everyone who will respond to me if I don't say it.
I rooted and installed CWM 6.0.1.8 on my phone about a year ago. I did not unlock the boot loader, because I didn't want to have any custom ROMs on my phone. Now just recently I was looking at android 4.4 and thought that this is a good update for any phone. So, I started to do my research for what to do to flash a ROM. I downloaded CWM 6.0.4.5 on my micro SD card and used "[ROOT]Recovery Tools - Flasher". Now this is where everything goes south...
I went through the app, found the CWM file to flash, and then I got the security error... After researching why this happened it was because of not unlocking the boot loader which was a huge mistake that I forgot to do.
I have searched on here a lot. I found a lot of great and useful information, but I can't try any of the suggestions yet. Not until my computer can recognize my phone. I know before this all happened, I had debugging enabled on my phone. I do not have fastboot installed on my computer anymore (reformatted a long time ago). I do have B2CApp.exe installed so I could try to do a factory reset on my phone. I have installed the driver for the phone from the LG program and from their website.
But like I said before, when I plug in my phone to my computer, the computer does nothing. It doesn't recognize that there is even a device there, but there is power getting to it. How I know is because I took out the battery and "S/W Upgrading" could be enabled.
If I can get past this, I'm 100% positive I can fix it then. If anyone has some sort of useful information about my computer not recognizing my phone, please share it! Also, for context, my computer is a windows 7 x64.
Thank you for your time and your responses!
Paul
Well I haven't heard from anyone yet and I've been still digging around. I might know why my computer doesn't discover my phone. I think it has to do with the charging port. It makes sense since that is where the connection lies. And I already know that my cords are all good as well as my computers. But anyways, I have bought a replacement part and hopefully that fixes the issue.
I'll post my results as soon as I replace the part. Wish me luck!!

failing to root my htc one v

Hi,
I keep failing to root my HTC One V. At first I used that Kingo ROOT thingy, which doesnt work at all. Then I decided to do it the old way. However, first of all, the bootloader unlocking program itself wont install. It says AdpWinApi.dll is missing, even after installing Android SDK. Next thing, when I get into my phone's bootloader, my windows 10 pc says that the usb is broken or something similair to that, while when connecting when the phone is turned on, it does show the phone and I can access all its files. Ive isntalled multiple usb drivers, and HTC Sync (which I closed afterwards, so thats not the issue) and yet, it doesnt recognize the phone when in boot mode. Help, please!
fyi the bootloader is still locked.
Kind regards,
me.

Phone Not Detected in Flash Mode

Hi guys,
I have been searching for hours but I can't seem to find how to fix my problem.
I have a new Z5 Compact that I was trying to flash with the stock firmware but I somehow managed to brick it. I don't think I had the drivers installed properly when I tried to flash with flashtool but since flashtool didn't even detect my phone or appear to begin flashing it I don't know how I bricked it. Anyway after trying for hours to fix it on my own I can't seem to find the information that I need. I have installed the drivers properly as far as I can tell by allowing unsigned drivers on windows 10 but whenever I boot to flash mode the phone isn't detected. Nothing even comes up in Device Manager so there are no options to update drivers or anything. I just hold the volume down button, plug in the usb, the LED briefly flashes red before holding on green and then nothing happens. Neither Flashtool or PC Companion detect the phone and I have tried this on 2 different laptops running Windows 7 and Windows 10. If anyone has any instructions on how to get this to work on Ubuntu I'm willing to try that too as I also have Ubuntu installed but I am really at a loss for what else I can try.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

sounds dumb but have you tried a different port and different cable? i ran into the same problem and found out one of the ports on my laptop doesnt work for data. flashtool is a major pain, it took me three pcs to find one that it worked with and then it took a good 5 tries and reboots to have a successful flash. flashing twrp and then xpower would be easier imo.

Yeah, I have tried 7 ports and 3 cables across two different pcs. There's a desktop I can try on but I'll wait until tomorrow. It's really frustrating. I just wanted to root so that I could batch install my apps from Titanium but now I have got a brick. In the time that I have spent trying to fix it I could have selected and installed all the apps individually.

keep trying, it'll work after you figure out whats wrong with your install, flashtool is real finnicky. If your already soft bricked and only want root id suggest fastboot twrp 3.0.2 then flash xpower 3.0 and be done with it. the only real reason to use flashtool is to flash a new image onto the phone because you cant take an ota.

Thanks for your help. So I can do that without unlocking the boot loader?

bootloader has to be unlocked before doing any of this.

Oh, you mean to do that once I have fixed my current issue.
Hmm, I seem to be having a smiliar issue, except instead of flashmode, mine isn't detected in fastboot mode, tried a crap load of drivers and usb ports etc..
EDIT: Got it fixed after following this guide

I tried following that guide but when I try to install the driver it just says "The INF file you selected does not support this method if installation". You didn't happen to have that problem and find a workaround did you?
Just an update on what I have tried if anyone has any suggestions...
I tried inserting a SIM in case that would make any difference. I have also tried it on a desktop pc as well as the two laptops now which is windows 7, 8.1 and 10. The Windows 8.1 attempt was a clean install and I used the advanced boot method to enable the installation of unsigned drivers. I had high hopes for that but it didn't work. What I find curious is there is no activity when I plug the phone in, in flash mode. If I plug it in, in fastboot mode it searches for drivers and the device appears in device manager but with flash mode I get nothing. I'm beginning to think that perhaps the device itself has a faulty flash mode.

Sadly no :/
I managed to flash a Z5 Compact with the same model number without any issues on the same computer that won't detect my handset so I'm pretty sure that it's an issue specific to this handset. Thanks everyone for their suggestions.
