[Q] SOS What happened to my phone? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While I was in CWM, I wanted to install a different Rom,
so i factory wiped everything, installed what i've thought a rom, but it turned out to be just a kernel, FFC support kernel,
so I went back into recovery and tried to install a rom but i ended up just instailling update.zip on my root of sd card and rebooted.
now im getting a bootloop, quickly a screen goes by saying install not complete..
What can i do ?

I would advise using odin to go back to stock reroot the phone and try again

Odin'ing back to stock should fix your issue. Here's a guide on doing so... http://rootzwiki.com/topic/605-guid...nja-apps-everything/page__p__11106#entry11106

ah I see. should i just use this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739091? Also this is a little noob of me but I am just not sure.. when flashing a rom say any rom. it flashes a new kernel as well right than I can change my kernel if I want, right? also what about the modem? do i have to flash that back to stock too?

When you flash back to stock, it will restore stock modem and kernel as well. Most ROMs include a modem and kernel so you won't have to change them seperately. If you do want something different than what flashed with the ROM it can easily be flashed over top. Hope that made sense. It's early.
Okay well I got that done and i had some issues but got it done. than when i tried to reroot and what not now i am having an issue i can fix. i did get nerov1 installed but now my superuser crashes and i can't do anything with root. like install the camera fix. I;m not sure it might be related to the fact that when i try to reboot to recovery I get the stock recover than when i click reinstall packages it does the same thing it did when i rooted or at least tries.. doesn't bring me to CWM just reboots and thats that.

Wrong place to post the question, in goes in Q and A
Now what are you trying to flash? Did you have any ligfix installed prior to this failed installation?

You can also check "repartition" to erase EVERYTHING on the phone while it gets ODINed.

Don't do this as this will wipe your backups and apps and all other data on your internal sd card. Use euguenes froyo that does not brick, then when you get stuck at the clockwork recovery screen using that (this is normal) odin back to stock using this:
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/
Yea download the froyo that doesny brick from euegenes page flash that via coding without pit file then take off battery and flash regualr stock beware this will wipe entire sd

[Q] Please help

Hi guys, I really need help restoring my phone back to working order. I made the dumb mistake of flashing a stock 2.2 kernel while using the bionix 1.3.1 rom. Now my phone is stuck on the team whiskey logo loop. I can not get into recovery using the volume plus power button anymore. It sends me into samsung recovery 2e. How do I go about fixing this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Hmmm...might use Odin to flash the kernel from the Bionix.zip? I'm guessing you didn't disable lagfix before flashing the stock kernel. Shouldn't be a big deal if that's the case.
Edit: That's of course assuming you can get into Download Mode.
Edit 2: Not sure how easily you can flash only a kernel using Odin. Might try Heimdall if that doesn't work?
Agreed! Whats the kernel you tried to flash? Link maybe? It really shouldnt be any problem maybe it just needed to sit. In either case it sounds like the update.zip should still be there. Try reinstall:update see if that werks. Good luck!
I just realized what exactly I did that caused everything to mess up. I wiped the cache partition which erased my data including the update.zip. Can anyone provide the 3 files I need to return my phone back to stock condition using Odin. I found the thread but the links did not work anymore.

Do you still have the Clockwork Recovery update.zip on your PC?

Unfortunately I don't because I used ryan's oneclicklagfix as the method of rooting so I never had the update.zip on my computer. I been looking into restoring it back to factory everything but the links for the baseband, kernels, etc are not working. Do you know any working links?
I believe everything you need should be able to be found in the guide:

Good luck!
Thanks everyone for the help.

[Q] {HELP} Bricked 10.1 GTP7510

hey guys, i think i might have bricked my new tab, I rooted it, installed clockwork recovery on it, and then flashed the In Paris Rom and Pershoots kernal. After that its been stuck on the samsung screen, nothing else displays. I tried to send it back to stock with ODIN, got the stock recovery on it but my computer wont detect the SD card so i dont really know how to get the stock ROM/kernel on it.
any thoughts on how to get a complete return to stock Rom/Kernel/Recovery?
please help! should i just return the thing i think i have insurance
UPDATE: Fixed it, thanks to AnimeaTechnica's on galaxytabforums
reset with everything there, updated with all stock, then reinstalled clockwork recovery.
learned my lesson, will backup inside clockwork BEFORE trying new roms

I'm guessing he used an ODIN flashable stock ROM

some quick help needed

i recently installed via odin the stock jellybean release rom on my phone along with cfroot and simunlocker.
i have found the stock jellybean rom to have a few too many bugs for my liking and want to go back to stock ics.
I have downloaded the stock ics rom latest release and tried to flash it again using odin in the pda box, it all seems to go fine but then the phone only seems to reboot as far as the samsung logo then stops.
What have i done wrong and how do i fix it please (or should i just be waiting longer for it to boot from the samsung logo?)
thanks
Try boot into recovery and factory reset.
