I'm having a lot of problem with this process. I have gmail, hotmail, gtalk and MSN Messenger linked to Social Hub.
I get few emails and chats per day. Is this kinda a bug or too much accounts for social hub to handle?
Should i stop using Social Hub?

Is there any way to add my msn or yahoo contacts to my gtalk account so I can chat with them? I'd google it and found some old solutions that did not work for me.
I'm using Meebo to chat and it works fine for me but i think that gtalk would eat less battery, and it has a better interface.
Does anyone know how? Is it possible by now?
Thanks in advance
Anyone? snif!
Giving the last chance to this thread...
No, download nimbuzz. It handles chat from MSN, yahoo, gtalk, Facebook, Skype. Pretty much everything

Thanks a lot, but for that I prefer Meebo. I just wanted to use Gogle talk to chat with my msn and yahoo contacts.
Regards
Ok well no I'm 99% certain you can't do that

Add MSN, Yahoo & AIM contacts in Gtalk
Hey guys,
Try this. It worked for me.
http://techuncover.com/?p=331
i can confirm that solution with transport service from post above works, i have FB chat in gtalk and its reliable
edit: http: //goondroid.com/gtalk-and-transports is another walkthrought with jabber.hot-chilli.net transport service, also used by me
I tried and had no sucess. I realy dunno why!
I added my gtalk account after that i added icq transport.
I was able to see my contacts from icq and gtalk but it doesn´t include my icq contacts into my gtalk.
Where is my mistake? Do i miss a step?

I'm confused as to why its not integrated into the main app. :/
Silly Facebook, developers... Just fix the notifications/instant updates.
I gotta remind myself to get to a damn blackberry.
So I can only get it from the new market? BRB, installing new market...

WHY DO WE LIKE IT? It's weird to think that this can be a standalone app apart from the clusterzuck that Facebook can be but, well, it really can. It's as good as GroupMe or Kik or WhatsApp in the sense that you're chatting with friends without racking up SMS charges but it's better than those services because most people have Facebook accounts and don't need to sign up for a new service. It's easy to add buddies to chat (through their Facebook account or phone number), almost scary easy to attach your location to each message and less complicated than GroupMe to start a group chat.
Even if you hate Facebook, you don't hate your friends right? The Facebook-ness of the app is invisible enough that even the most anti-Facebook guy will have to admit this is actually decent. Seriously, strip the Facebook away and what you get is a messaging app that your friends have already signed up for. Why not try?

There's built in chat in the Facebook app, been that way for a while now guys...granted their notifications aren't working right for most people but the chat works just fine.
side note: are they gonna fix multi-quote on these boards soon? some problem with ad-block?
Could one of you share the apk, it's telling me a dumb error like my phone is not compatible and does the same for the official facebook app ....
[edit]Found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210604
I tried this but the notifications arnt working. I've enabled all alerts, light sound vibrate but when I receive a message there's nothing. I have to go to the app to know i got one

As you are running Cognition ROM, please post your question to the Cognition thread.
P.S.: Wakelock means that an app (e.g. download manager) forces your phone to keep awake. And this is not very good for battery life.
Cant post there due to low # of post.
I know what wakelocks are . Just want to know specificlly about downloadmanger wakelock.
Whats causing it to work?
Thabks again.

It worked for me, but I felt it wasn't necessary. The UI was too basic to really use compared to the full version of the same apps.
Thanks for the input but do you have a suggestion for me?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I had to return here for suggestions (so I get notifications), I get Linked and Facebook. When I go to add an account, I see them (checked because I have them) and I see Twitter (Not checked because I don't use it).
I want to add Google+ and Yahoo. Even when I am up and chatting on both of them, Social will not show them to add. I am clueless!

This is EXACTLY why I use this Widget. I work in IT and have done so for MANY years. I had Yahoo IM @ 12 years ago, @ 4 years ago I started with FB, This June, I got Google+. The last 3 years I have traveled the world with job, some friends are on Facebook, some on +, some still on Yahoo.
I have 760+ contacts, everyone keeps asking "Whats up, what have you been up to?" I cannot possibility answer them all, except with Social Networking, weather they want to read it or not. One post, everyone is happy.
Now, Like you stated, If I want a more personalized experience, I go to the app it's self.
Thanks everyone but the problem I'm having is I don't get anything on the widget and all it says is add an account.

I asked this in a different thread but it was moving so fast I think people over looked it.
Is there anything from the gb roms that i can do/add that will allow social hub sync my contacts? I loved how it showed all my Facebook friends birthdays in my calendar. i noticed HTC sense would do this too.
It might not be that its social hub that isn't allowing it it could be the calendar. maybe im missing a step. When I sign into my social hub fb account it shows to sync calendars but it doesn't show their birthdays.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

I know that after installing the Facebook app, you get presented with a screen which asks you what you want to sync. Personally I hate it so I always click 'do not sync' but I'm pretty sure it'll let you sync like Sense does?
Facebook app settings has a way to sync FB.
but the only thing the FB app actually sync is the picture and phone number, and maybe email, I don't remember it syncing birthdays.
