Hello,
My internal memory is about to be full due to the applications installed on the internal memory not to the SD card. Is there anyway to move the installed applications to the SD card?
I tried to do that from Application management but the move to SD card button is inactive.
Thanks
Try darktremors app2sd...
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
DT A2SD script or use S2E.
The move to sd card option is inactive because those apps are protected apps, that is,apps that cant be moved to sd card.
If you are reluctant on rooting, then use the force install apps to sd card hack,it moves apps partially, same option when you root your phone too.
Flashing script method is recommended though,Frees up your internal memory a ton
or you can just try forcing apps to sd with titanium backup

Highly recommend S2E. Moves Dalvik Cacheto the SD freeing up about 100+MB to the SD card. And use Titanium Backup to batch move them to the SD. Make sure you select the right apps to move. If you move your theme and such to the SD, your phone will quick reboot every time you turn it on. Don't move things you're using on your phone to the SD unless they're apps.
Here are some screen shots to prove I'm not lying
Got the number of apps installed, amount of memory free and S2E working its magic ;D
I cant find on market s2e

Hey guys someone said darktremor app2sd is included in the megatron rom. but to enabled it you must partition your sd card and upgrade ext2 to ext3 and so on. i have done that. but after i installed facebook for android, i check in the manage apps in settings, my fb for android "move to sd" are still grayed? i havent test on other apps though. or maybe the fb for android are meant to stay in the phone memory? or maybe i did wrong in the partition thing?
btw, my O1 are now finally back to normal for four days. im happy. so please confirm asap before i need to format my memory card in re install my apps over and over again.
The option is still there since it just tricks the system into thinking that the app is still in the internal memory. The app's data files are symlinked from the memory card to the internal memory.
Try installing an adequately huge app and see how much the internal memory goes down.
Hmm, my twitter and atk "move to sd card" is grayed too. am i doing something wrong or what
For the last time:
if the ROM developer said it has app2sd, then it has it. You don't have to do anything. The apps appear to be installed in the internal memory, but physically they are stored on the SD card, in that ext3 partition.
Some apps cannot be moved to SD card - apps that run as services and widgets. That's why their "Move to SD card" button is grayed. But if you installed them yourself, they went to the ext3 partition.

I just want to move the apps that i installed from the market. thats it. hmm now im installing restaurant story and ibeer let see if my internal memory decreasing or not. i post the result soon
Hmm its decreasing but only 1mb from 164mb to 163mb. both apps is 10mb+. i think my app2sd has been enabled after all
hmm after installing bakery and farm story, my internal memory decrease to 150mb. LOL now im not sure
App2sd will sym link and keep program data on sd card. But dalvik cache will remain on internal memory and it will increase everytime when you install something. Thus you will see decrease in internal memory. You can also move dalvik to sd but io would reccomend to keep it on internal memory.

how to move the dalvik to sd card, and why u recoomend to keep it in internal..????
Some apps seem to install to internal memory by default, and some to sd card if one is present.
Even more annoyingly however, many of the apps that default to SD card if you move them to internal memory MOVE BACK TO THE SD CARD when you update them.
Is there any way to prevent apps from automatically installing to the SD card? Or at the very least, installing to SD card is fine... but to prevent them from moving BACK to the sd card when you update them?
I've seen this question in 3 different topics on XDA and none of them is answered. My question is similar to this; Apps are installed on internal memory but app data is on external. As a result i have a completely empty internal memory and a full sd card. Tried possible suggestions on other sites but didn't work. Why can't we choose where to install the app data? How to move the app data back, since app2sd wouldn't work on this situation.
FYI, buy a bigger memory card is NOT a solution, it's a workaround for the actual problem..

Looks like your problem can be solved with "link2sd" which gives a permanent option on where to install apps. Search it in Google Play.
In my case (i have three different memory blocks) you have to do a repartition and a custom rom but i don't want to go there so i just mapped the drives with editing vold.fstab and bought a bigger memory card
See question. 2 and 9 gb of space is not cutting it for me with a lot of programs not allowing you to move stuff to the external sd card. Is there a way that works for the amaze to move data to the external sd card?

you can use almost any file manager with root premissons or not in order to move stuff from your internal storage to your sd card.. the only issue is you have to be careful of what you move because not every app will function properly if moved to external storage.. i think titanium backup also allows you to batch move apps to the phones internal storage (not system storage that's the 2gb)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en
link2SD, move applications to SD card even if it doesn't allow to (it's built-in to ROMS for phones with smaler internal memory, like my low-end Optimus T with 150MB internal)
however, the speed of the SD card is generally slower than internal memory... just a small warning
another option would be the app 'gl to sd' (or something similar to that).
its free and its main use is to save the gameloft game data to your external sdcard. ive tried it and it works with the games. i do believe it'll allow you to move other app data as well.
Hi. After installing app from playstore, i try to move the app from internal storage to SD card through app manager in Settings.
The thing is, i notice that the space in SD card remains the same even after moving the app to SD card.
When I delete an app which has been moved to SD card, the space is freed up in internal memory.
Is this what is happening with all others too? Let me know. I could not install a few apps coz of memory limitations of just 4 GB ROM. Move to SD card is not helping me at all. Thank you.
I wanted to know if there is anyway to move apps to SD card or to set install location to sd1...
My internal storage is more than 80% full (almost apps but no media files)..

Download and install "Titanium Backup". Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup
Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done.
Remember:
Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.

After partitioning the SD card ,phone didn't recognize the sd card
Then I used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sylkat.AParted&hl=en ,and it worked for partitioning..
But Titanium backup doesn't have "move all user apps to SD card" option so I used Link2SD and Link2SD recognized the ext2 partition but after moving apps to SD card ,it says your phone doesn't support move apps to SD because its primary external memory is emulated from the interal storage..
