I think you are on 2.1
download unzip and install the file
Link :: http://www.filedropper.com/voicesearch21
after installing it, remove the google search widget from the homescreen and again place it. you will find the voice mic icon next to it (...or restart your phone) also pressing and holding the search button will activate the voice
voice search
attached zip
follow the above instructions
Thank u very much......

I was looking for a solution and found this. It works so much as to the mic icon appearing in the apps (voice search, translate) but when launching it crashes. Any ideas?

Here you go, these should work in CM7.
Just put the apk in system\app
and the lib in system\lib
Change permissions to system ones, restart and thats it.
Anyone tried this?
I tried only with MIUI and it's not working...
On CM7, not working
My voice dialer works but nothing else works...iris, google translate, google voice search. Either shows no speech input or shows device not compatible
Same here. Used to work better than the app in CM7. But no longer works. About permissions, how do i do it? id try with diff apps to give it but didnt work either. It says, couldn copy the file
The file from SpawNyK (last post on page 1) works on cm7 no problem...(thanks btw). I've been using it since then (Oct) and no problems with Goggle translate or others...probably used it on close to 100 different nightly builds... hehe

I'm using MiUi rom
________
U have to use root app to copy the file lib on system lib
And after that. Copy apk file in system then instal

speech engine problem with custom ROM

Hello,
I use usually Chip 1.5 ROM (the best for me), but since I mounted it I noticed that the voice control doesn't work; for example when I try to do an internet search by voice the microphone link goes to an undefined googleplay page, instead of do the search over internet...
Maybe that the speechengine is missing... There's a message like this on certain app...
Is there a solution?
Have anyone this issue? How may I solve this?
Thanks
Post it in dev section of that rom ..maybe one who.made a rom now the anwser

I use the standard android app "voice search" that use internet connection (...attending the offline jellybean voice control porting...), and also -when I had CM7 ROM- I tried the CM7 composer app to simulate a call "call ..." or other standard command used in any android phone...
Do You have You any advice?
Thx

I did not understand what you trying to tell. Kindly can you explain.
He basically saying that SVoice is really just for show, to let you get a taster of voice commands and the is another app called 'Jeannie' which is a similar kind of thing.

hey thanks for replying,i own xperia x10 mini android 2.1. and when i try to download an app. from market it stops on "starting download..." it just says "starting download" and that's it. i was exploring the web a bit trying to find out why this happens and it said it could be because of google talk. but i didn't find a solution to this problem anywhere so i don't know if it is permanent?! i also noticed after deleting g. talk that when i turn the phone on there's an error,, it says process com.google.process.gapps has stopped working. try again. (translation) i suppose this also has something to do with deleted google talk?
Hope this post helps you: http://androidforums.com/x10-all-th...-x10-google-talk-apks-please.html#post1892860
Yo u have to extract the file to get the APKs and enable installation from unknown sources for a successful installation. I recommend to disable this option after you finish.

Weird, I did it the first time (before I asked here) and it didn't work, After you suggested it, I tried it again and it worked. Cool, thanks!!
Now for the second question, anybody figure out how to change/delete the the startup sound and or how to change the startup graphic yet?
