First off, loving the Titan so far. Upgraded from the Focus and there have been very few issues.
With a screen the size of the Titan's, is there a way to programmatically increase the number of columns on the home screen? Two is fine but three columns would be even better on this phone.
Ideas?

There is not and it seems unlikly to change, at least while the horizontal resolution of all screens is 480. (Adding a third column would require shrinking tiles, somehting that every app would need to acomodate. Tiles are 173 pixels square and three of them would be 519 even without space beteen them.
Might it be possible that extra columns could come in the future? No one knows, but there may be some reasonably solid usability arguments for not doing so. Personally, I'd like to see a "tweakers" settings that frees up more of the phone to users who want it while leaving the current "basic" features for those who don't want to control everything.

Im interested in seeing what small helpful features everyone is finding buried in HC. Im also making sure there isn't any settings I'm not aware of that could be making my experience with HC even better. This may be helpful to many of us who just recently became acquainted to View 4G through numerous internet fire-sales.
I have 2 helpful tips, though they are small. I don't think these are specific to HC, but i think they help.
1. There is a slight screen animation when you exit an app and return to the home screen. It occurs on pretty much every screen change, its like its growing/expanding. Anyway this animation mixed with straining to see the smaller app icon text and smaller widgets of HC may make you nauseous after seeing it over and over again. Just go to Settings/Screen/Animation and set it to no animations. My stock weather widget still does its cool full screen animations, so i don't think i'm missing out on any good animations by changing this setting.
2. For better battery life:
a. use airplane mode.
b. use a wifi widget for quick, convenient on/off toggle. If i mostly keep wifi off my tablet lasts forever for reading, drawing etc.
c. set your screen to timeout after 1 minute or less. Settings/Screen/Timeout
d. set the brightness to low. I keep mine as low as it goes and turn automatic off. Settings/Screen/Brightness
[Q] if you could just tap the wifi icon in the new hc soft status bar to toggle on/off without it taking u all the way to the settings menu that would be amazing- Am i missing something? If its going to hog screen space it should be a super convenient status bar equipped with this feature-
Are there any mods out there (and if not, how hard would it be for someone to write one) that vertically flip the orientation of the Notification Panel?
Right now, the typical panel pulls down with a swipe, showing the Toggles first (if your rom has 'em), then the notifications, stacked in a list, last first. What I'd like is to be able to have the panel swipe up from the bottom of the screen, with the toggles at the bottom of the panel and then the notifications stacked in a list, with the last one at the bottom. In essence a completely vertical mirror of how the panel operates.
The closest I've been able to find is with PA, but it requires cranking the DPI on your device so that fonts are tiny, and the panel doesn't span the screen completely, it's just a little popup window with tiny icons. What I'm looking for is something that's perfectly identical to the standard panel, just upside-down.
Is this possible? Has anyone out there written a mod that does this? It seems like such an obvious hack (especially in light of 4.7" phones), yet I can't seem to find anything.
Hello,
I have been using the F1 for one month now, and I love the power and photo quality of this phone for it's price.
But one thing is a problem for me: the notch.
In one hand, I like having a display that is covering the maximum of the front of the phone, and in the other hand this big thing is allowing only to see a few notifications and system icons.
With MiUi 10, we have a feature to display the notifications under the clock (see here), but with Custom Roms like LineageOS you can only have two or three icons, or hide the clock, and this become also a problem on the right side when you have wifi, cellular data, bluetooth, GPS and the battery icon: somes disappear and are replaced by a dot on the left, and you need to expand the notification panel to see the icons.
Because of these issues I am constantly using the feature that hides the notch by totally disabling the top part of the screen.
So my question is: is there any app/mod/anything that could make the status bar use the left and right side of the notch and a bar at the bottom like a normal phone?
I have made a concept in GIMP in the attachments.
Thanks in advance for your reply and sorry for my English
Have a great day,

Google, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that the status bar clock has to be on the left side because of phones with a selfie camera notch at the top. I have such a phone, a OnePlus 6T, but I always have enough free space on the right side of the status bar, but not enough on the left side. With the clock there is only space for four icons, which, on the left side, is not enough. There is no overflow into the free space to the right of the notch, the clock does not move into free space, there is no second row, there is apparently no solution.
I have not found any direct way to move the clock anywhere else, but there is a workaround, provided your phone allows you to remove the status bar clock altogether. On the OnePlus 6T, probably on all phones with OxygenOS, and hopefully in many other phones, you can switch off the clock display with a command similar to: Settings, Display, Status bar, Time, Don't show this icon.
But I always need a clock somewhere, and this is the second part of the workaround. Luckily there is an app, made by Wansoft in South Korea, named "Always on top clock and memo" or, short, "Time and Memo". This app can place a digital time display and a host of other things almost anywhere on screen. I chose to have just a small time display centered directly under the notch.
I chose text size 16 pt, black, not translucent, without any decorations, on a white, slightly translucent background, which I can recommend for a first try. The app offers a wide variety of display options.
Obviously the app needs the right to display over other apps, which you have to grant.
I hate the "Apple" Pie clock on the left. It's NOT a notification. That's where notifications go.

Hi,
I am on latest Android (Samsung smartphone) and I like to use multi window a lot, and it works great. I can have an app running at the top and another app at the bottom. There is a small horizontal line between the 2 apps that I can drag to increase and decrease the window size (if I make the height of the app at the top bigger then the app at the bottom gets smaller automatically). Sometimes I want the app at the bottom to have a very small height but unfortunatelly if I drag the splitter to a small height dimension, android will cancel the multi window.
The multi window with the splitter is awesome, but that's a really terrible decision to not allow an app to have a very small height and the other a very big height. And the problem is not with the app, because I am the developer of both apps and even setting minHeight to 1dp, Android never allows the apps to have a height smaller than 20-30% of the screen height. Why? Is there a way to fix it, something like in the Developer options?
