Hi all,
After Flashing my XPERIA MINI PRO to 4.0.2.A.0.42 from WOTAN SERVER, my phone can no longer connect to WIFI. Also, my phone has no vibrate except if you will turn it on. Any fix you guys know?
Maybe you should try to reflash it with SEUS now.

strange , i think wotan is better but in your case it is not good solution for firmware flashing
My mini is running vanilla 2.1 (rooted) and after I try to install Theme (trough xrecovery) and it got bricked (stuck at white SE logo) and the worst of all it can't be turn off. I already try to recover using SEUS, Flashtool but all of it unable to detect the phone. What should I do to recover it..??? If I take the phone to SE service center (it still on warranty) it's going to take 2 week for them to just flash the phone. I greatly appreciate any help/advise to recover the phone.
Thank's beforehand

well actually Sony Ericsson in my country doesn't had the same rigid standard about rooted phone. As long as no hardware had been compromised the warranty still fully apply, the only downside is it's took 2 week for them to just flashing the phone.
Build number : 6.0.A.3.62
Android version : 2.3.7
How should I root it?
I guess root is only available for .63, .67 and .73
Thanks
Why don't you upgrade to one of the newer frimwares then?
Just flash doom stock kernel,it has root and recovey.
You can find it in dev section.

Do you not get a software update notification if you have it check for updates under settings.
You can always flash an ftf for your specific region with what ever version you want.

Sony Xperia S Build 6.0.A.3.62
i have the build 6.0.A.3.62 with android 2.3 gingerbread. i have unlocked the bootloader but don't know how to test if it is unlocked or something else is still required. after unlocking the bootloader, when i powered up the phone, it was like i just bought the phone. it gave me those 9 steps to follow in order to setup internet connection, google account sync, etc. so how do I know if bootloader is unlocked on this phone?
now I'm dying here to root the phone lol. its been 20 hours i've been messing with the phone. right in this thread pratyush suggested to download the flashtool. but when i goto the flashtool website to download the latest version, the link is broken. file not found.
so i'm just wondering if someone can give step-by-step instructions for the build 6.0.A.3.62 and help me to root this device please. would appreciate your help a lot.
thanks for the help ppl ..

the latest one for my phone is 6.1.A.0.452 but all i wish to know, will it be easier to root the phone with 452 build? will i have to unlock the bootloader again after updating my phone to ics? i'm really a newbie and stupid when it comes to playing with electronic devices. but i can follow instructions accurately. sony gives a warning while upgrading that i wont be able to go back to 2.3 if i upgraded to ics. so all i wish to know, will it be easier to root the phone with present software build 62 or will it be better to upgrade and then root the phone on build 452?
please advise. thank you for your help.

You can go back to 2.3 just fine by flashing a ftf. There are a couple different methods to root ics. One needs an unlocked bootloader (flashing prerioted system image) the other does not (flashing multiple times while running some batch files). Both methods have posts in the dev section.

Easiest way is to unlock the booloader and flash the prerooted system.img you can then relock the bootloader if need be. That's for both ICS and GB.

You dont need to root to flash an firmware. Just saying.
Upgrade to ICS. Its much better and it would be much easier to help you because everyone uses it..
Good luck.
alrighty .. i tried to update the software but after downloading some odd 500 MB worth updates, it says "your software is modified, so can't be upgraded"
---------- Post added at 07:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:33 PM ----------
ok .. so i thought to do a factory reset on the phone settings > privacy > factory reset
it did factory reset and then i tried to upgrade the software. same thing ... it says, upgrade cant be done because the phone has modified software. i guess i will have to keep 2.3 gingerbread and then try to root the software. am i running out of options?

thanks for replying,
But flashtool is not recognising the mobile...so im not able to flash new rom. Is there any way to make my phone detected by flashtool ??
This is my first time at this forum.
My Xperia ray was showing a blank screen,it wouldn't start up.
oOn pressing the power button, screen shows SONY and then shows a exclaimation mark.
By reading some of the forums I installed some flashtools...now the mobile on powering on,just blinks red on the lower curve, where it used to blink green earlier.
Now it won't even start.
Kindly HELP!!!
One more thing, On connecting it with EMMA,it reads THIS PHONE IS LOCKED!!
By "installing some flashtools", do you mean flashing the stock rom?
Is your phone's battery charged?
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3
is your battery charged? are you on stock rom? try to flash stock firmware by Flashtool or repair your phone using official Sony software (SUS, or Sony PCC ... I dont remember which of those has repair option)
