Hi, I'm having x10 2.3.3 rooted. and until recently I was able to download from the android market with no problem. But now when I click "download" it show downloading and than it says "can't download due to an Error" but it only happen in 3g mode or GSM. When in Wi-Fi it download normally

Maybe due to slow 3G. And check the market setting, the update via wifi may be checked

Do you have a "downloads" app? If so, there may be an option to only download over wifi (mine says "download only using WLAN"). Make sure that's not checked and you should be good to go. I had the same problem, finally figured that out.

What do you mean? You mean the downloads app that come with your phone? Yes I have.. but it only show you your downloads I think... there's no settings button.. please tell me what to do please.... thanks.

I try to download items from the market but they only download sometimes and others it will say "downloading" forever ... or it will say download failed.... idk I tried clearing the market cache , different roms. Wifi and mobile.....I can't find a solution .. please help
Update: I seem to only have the problem on my mobile network now...wifi seems to be fine ...

3g is crap for downloading big apps, but 4g is getting rolled out over the next few years so things will be way better then

But it would show progress in the download bar... in my case it shows no progress even if left over night....I can browse internet and check email and such just have a problem downloading from the market and miui themes and such

same thing on my device (desire HD with miui 1.4.1) i cant download any app.. now im on work so i cant test downloading it over wifi. I hope that this will work.

if you are on miui rom go to the downloads app , hit the menu button, and klick on download via mobile network. after that it will work on market to
I had this happen for the longest time.... the best thing I've found to fix it.... boot into recovery... and FIX PERMISSIONS. And there will be a straggler or two that still wont install.... uninstall the OLD version of the software your updating.... then install. Works like a dream.

Hi sorry for the 999th thread but my market doesn't work like I can't install apps I don't know why I fixed it once by flashing stock rom even tho I already was on stock like I can see it In my notification bar that its downloading but it just keeps on going lile that and it doesn't even start so I dont know how to fix this I force closed it uninstalled update nothing this happened to me now twice I am really sick of it I am pretty sure its because of the new market? .
And also I have blurry contact picture on stock rogers rom? I never had that when I first got my phone i'd really like to fix this issue. :'( thanks.

Stock 2.1 I can download apps from applanet not from market its like a glitch In my status bar it shows its downloading the apps I selected but In fact it doesn't do nothing...

hey mate, try siging in to the Talk apps. make sure that u had sign in and then go to market and tried to install any apps that u want.
if this still not working, do a reboot, sign in to the Talk and then go to market
I reflashed rom once before because of the same issue didn't help gonna try signing in talk gonna post feedback.

He is using 2.1 so he can't clear the cache. He would have to use root explorer, remove vending.apk from /system/app, reboot then reinstall the market.
@shahkam I was doing some test on updating the market on 2.1 but things didn't work out. If you want to stay with 2.1 the only thing I can suggest is use erickwill's custom 2.1 which already has tweaks but it's based on the stock 2.1 rom.

Being blocked maybe?!
This doesn't seem an error on your rom, this seems more likely that something is blocking your download.
Not sure if this is your case scenario but i can't download any apk and others from my university.
If you are inside some company network, or something like that this most likely is the reasons.
When the download shows on the top it means your rom is trying to download, but the server may have been blocked, so it will keep trying for a long time, also may give you some small lag during that.
If you can download apk files from other sources it means that they may have blocked only using domain filter or ip filtering.
To be able to access the market doesn't mean that the server isn't blocked, only means that the main domain isn't blocked, i don't which is the server for market downloads so i can't tell you how to check this, but the best way would be to get try multiple wifi hotspots or a home totally not firewalled connection.
If it downloads but doesnt install try unmounting your SD card and download, try again and see what happens.

Nah no issues on other 2.2 roms only whit 2.1 i think its the markrt updates and my apn settings but not sure usually my 3g worls great all the time

I'm having a lot of issues w/ the new Market app. It's not showing a lot of my paid for apps as well as others. Is there some sot of fix? Sorry if this is already a listed issue, I looked around and didn't find anything.

I have been having trouble with it force closing. Wen back to the good old green market.
Market Enabler hasn't fixed anything. I tried several different apk's and none of them worked.

I've found that if you use the market site to download an app that you are missing, they'll show up.

If you're having problems installing and updating apps (getting the "Not enough space on this device" error) you will have to empty unused files out of your /cache directory. For some reason, the new Market uses /cache to download files to install apps instead of a folder in /data.
I'm simply having an issue with Market not showing a lot of my paid for apps.

Same here. It's been perfect for me.
Can't blame me tho just cuz I was the first one to upload the apk once I got the update lol.
But for real, it just works well for me. I'm sure you've done this but have you tried going to the applications settings and clearing data ? IDK, maybe may help. Otherwise, I'm no help. Sorry
I'm trying to download awesome from this site to my phone. I have Astro with browser downloader on (had to do this a long time ago for apk's). I'm trying to download zip files and they fail almost instantly. It started yesterday when I tried to get the watch app update, but I thought maybe that link was burned out. I was able to download that from another site. Today = SSDD, but on anything I try. I tried turning off browser downloader in Astro and cleared my browser cache. Still no go. Any ideas?

Really? Nobody knows the answer, or a fix for this? I had no problems at all downloading from my rooted evo 4g, & now that I'm on the 3d I can't download a ****en' thing, which sucks cuz' I'm not always on my laptop. I'm currently on virus's eternity rom, which I doubt is the problem, but I can't even download anything from my xda premium app, fml!
Probably a stupid question already known by many, but im really anxious to try this one out (ICS pre leak Seraphim's) so here goes.. For whatever reason i can't get a download to start even thru the mirror..... Is it the link(s) itself, or did i need to start wipin and retry? Im on stock GB 2.3.6 rooted with Cwm, always get "download Unsuccessful"..plenty of room in all storage. .Thanks in advance.
