Hello guys!
I have a Neo V from Brasil and it's full of bloatware from TIM provider...
I want to flash the latest retail firmware available not only to get rid of this bloatware but to be up-to-date with the most recent firmware...
Which firmware should I use? It doesn't have to be from Brasil, but it would be nice if it had Portuguese-BR as an available language.
I've never had a Sony E. smarthpone, only Samsung's, but I believe the process of flashing is the same, regarding the different flashing apps, right? Samsung uses "Odin" and SE uses "Flashtool" ?
Thank you!!
Yep, use Flashtool. I believe all versions support every language. Every firmware had it's own bloatware, I bought mine off contract, and it also had apps like Xperia hotshots, UEFA and SE 999 facebooks apps on it. Maybe you could also just delete the bloatware manually.
I think xperia hot shots and all that stuff come's with all firmwares (region), but you can uninstall them like normal apps...

Its a stock firmware, directly from Google..
Using SEUS or PC Companion will make it stock..
Well im gonna try it today! or im sorry Later on after office...
i Just bricked my phone ended up in the white sony ericsson logo and keeps restarting.
i changed the build.prop and restarted my phone, then the situation occured, I Havent find any solutions to my problem yet...
I'm helping out a friend with her new Xperia Sola.
My top priority is to get Google Apps on to her phone.
We're in China, and the Sola was sold in China, which means that with the stock chinese rom Google Apps doesn't come with it. With my phone, the Xperia X8, I simply changed the CDA in the build.prop and let PC Companion do the rest of the work. The idea is that every type of ROM has a CDA assigned to it and when you hook the phone up to PC Companion or SEUS, it looks for that CDA code in build.prop and downloads the rom accordingly. So by changing the CDA to a International Version(I believe this is a version that encompassed all the different languages that Sony has to offer), I essentially flashed Gapps onto the phone, without doing to much work or changing anything. All I had to do was root the phone.
So does anyone know the CDA of the International Version for this phone? Or does anyone have a rom that supports Simplified Chinese and has google apps, could you post your CDA? Thanks! The CDA should look like this 1234-8764/R7E(Made up)
Also,Is there anyway to root besides unlocking the bootlloader? It'd be best not to touch the DRM section as I'm not sure if she uses Sony proprietary software or not.
Thanks!!!

Advice? Install fw .89 and debloat it :cyclops:
Any doubts or questions just PM me in PT :highfive:
You can also find help on this site androidPT is in Portuguese.
But the masters are here in xda-developers.
I don't quite recommend using the .89, I found that debloating .54 got better overall smothness than .89... it's my personal experience, others maybe got different results, I don't know.
I'm actually using a generic unbloated .184 Gingerbread now, and I'm satisfied with it except for the speaker sound...
As TugaDriver said, AndroidPT is a good forum if you're needing help... but I found there some "noobiness"... There are some guides there that are very bad explained and some procedures that are incorrect...
To start you in, if you bought a Xperia U locked to TMN it has "Bootloader Unlock Allowed = No" which means you can't unlock the bootloader.
But, you can root it using the Bin4ry tool, that you can find here in XDA.
To root, you need to be with .10 Sony ICS kernel... if you already updated your phone to .54 on PC Companion, now all you have to do is flash .10 ICS Kernel, boot up the device, follow the rooting procedure, and after the root is done, reflash the .54 ICS Kernel.
Note!: This flashing of kernels is made on the Flashtool by Androxyde. You can only use flashmode. Fastboot is only for the ones that unlocked bootloader. Also, with locked bootloader, you can only flash official Sony kernels.
After you got root access, you can now install CWM For Locked Bootloaders by Atis. This is a costum recovery that you install and lets you flash roms into your phone.
After you got CWM on your phone is time to flash a rom! You can choose whatever rom you like from our forum that has "Locked Bootloader" or "LB" on the name.
All you need to know to start is this. If you have any questions you can leave them in Portuguese to me, via PM.
All the tools I mentioned in this post can be found here on XDA.
I'm in stock .54 debloated with some mods and customizations, and I'm very satisfied with it. My only dream is run cm10 in my lb device
Thanks Rock because I was thinking about unlocking my bootloader but my Xperia u was bought on TMN I thought if I asked for PIN unlock it will unlock my bootloader unfortunately it can't... hope CM10 would come to locked...
Sent from my ST25a using xda app-developers app
If you ask for SIM Unlock you need to then sent it by yourself to the Sony technical assistance here in Portugal, they'll change Bootloader Unlock Allowed from NO to YES
EN: Updated the main post with .54 Vodafone PT link

Hi this may be a dumb question - how can I extract/preserve the current stock rom I have on the phone? Like a very few others here I have Xperia Ray ST18a, the North American version (not ST18i, international version) and I want to preserve the stock GB firmware of the phone. I can't find it anywhere online (only ST18i), in the past I flashed it using WotanServer but they seem to be outta the game now. The GB firmware is not available via Sony or XperiFlash anymore as it has been superseded by ICS.

Take a nandroid backup.
I never stopped using my SK17i, I've had at least 10 of them over the years, but recently I lost it and had to get a replacement.
I found a brand new one on ebay, but it has 4.0.2.A.0.58 FW.
I used to have all the SK17i FW saved, so I could re-flash any replacements I got, but my HDD crashed and I lost them all.
Does anyone have the last .587 FW... the 'generic world' version... not the vodafone or india one?

As I said in other thread, I'm not sure which one you exactly are looking for (some are customized for MEA and for India, first two links are most likely generic .587 FW). Please note that I have not tested any of those as I don't have Mini Pro. I just googled the links. Best of luck and let us know if it worked.
Thank you mate, I'm in UK so was looking for the "generic world" one, I got the first 2 you posted on download, thanks.
Hello,
I got a totaly stock phone, I read trough some topic, but don't know how to flash this generic firmware.
Android ver:2.3.3 Build:4.0.A.2.235
But I can not do nothing (log in google etc) this android version is so old, I would like to try first the last factory firmware, I guess this is it. How could I Flash to the phone?
Thanks in advance!
ts easy peasy to do, but you need the correct adb/fastboot drivers and flashtool versions, and that parts a nightmare.
I normally have to do this every couple of years if/when I lose or drop/break my phone and can never remember how I previously did it so I ended up making some notes and storing the correct stuff.
All of the drivers you need are bundled with flashtool 0.6.9.1
Here is the driver bundle from flashtool 0.6.9.1
But I would recommend using flashtool 0.9.18.6 to flash your rom because it has an option to exclude the 'simlock.ta' (previous version doesnt) and this will/could simlock your phone.
You need to connect your phone to PC and go in to the settings in your phone and change USB connection modes. Each time u do that, new drivers will be installed. Then power off ur phone and hold the 'down' volume button on the side and insert your USB lead a couple of seconds later.... then more drivers will be installed.
Then flash your rom with flashtool, and remember to 'exclude' the 'simlock.ta' (it's a checkbox option)
Edit: Btw, if u wanna root ur phone I use eroot_v1.3.4, works like a charm. Its in chinese but just click the big green button and it will root ur phone and install superuser.
Thanks, I was only able to try it out now and it worked. I can not install the flashtool verzion 0.9.18, win10 didn't allow it because it's contain a virus (win said) but i found somewhere 0.9.10.1.
Now have android 4.0.4. Play and browser not working, but for playing music and video its ok.
Maybe If have more time i will try some custom rom.
Which rom aru you using @SK17Me ?

I use 4.1.B.0.587. If you install total commander (or anything similar explorer) using flashtool, then you can download apps from anywhere, put them on your SD card and install them with total commander... no need for google play.
Browser is hit and miss... some pages load, but most dont.
I have all the cyanogenmod firmwares for SK17i (CM 10 - CM 13) which bring later android versions, though I've never tried them. I can upload them if u wanna try any.
