No just for 2.2 and higher!
Working on minicm 1.0.2 but many times the download of apps doesn't start. Therefore I dont recommend to install unless the cook of the rom incorporates it in the next version.
At present I am rolling back the updated version of market.

Tested and I'm using "old" market again. I don't see any advantage for new one, but it's slower and it uses more memory :-(

Actually i installed nAa rom for minipro and market went missing....
Couldn't find even after re installing the rom...
So now i downloaded this market and it says parsing error while trying to install it...
EDIT: Damn that was download problem....Redownloaded and it installed...

If didn't exist there, then no new version of gapps for gb. Only few apps update, u can update via playstore n playstore itself will do auto update.

The Settings icon looks like AOSP, or is that just a launcher theme?

Was the playstore pre-installed?? I mean did it came with the stock rom or did you install it later??
If the playstore was pre-installed, a wipe data and updating it may solve the problem.
If you had installed it later, then only installing playstore won't work, You have to flash the whole Gapps package.
BTW This is a sub-forum. A for the Galaxy Star

I installed it thru Google because the only market/play store is 1mobile market!! it doesn't have google play store nor google play service but have the Google chrome and Google search!! Please help!! can you give me the link or teach me how to solve this??

Google Play Store won't work without google servies framework and some permissions which can be only installed through Gapps package.
You can use Goo.im or Gapps manager to find the appropriate Gapps package for your Android version..
Do you have root and cwm?? You'd need that to flash the gapps..
Android device...&....gp store isn't preinstalled...!!!!!!!
