Got the girlfriend the tablet and put amazon market on it, not rooted. Had access for a couple days but for the last week no love from the B&N market. What say the collective.
Restored and still having the same issue

Is it registered to your (or a) B&N Account or did you bypass registration?
I made two purchases from B&N after installing the Amazon market. It doesn't seem to be a problem.
Registered then sideloaded. Tried removing the alternative markets but still no love..

I unrooted and did a factory restore and now the B&N Store is broken for me too.

If you did a factory restore, you wouldn't have needed to unroot first because it takes care of that.
If you did a factory reset, it just wipes data and would not fix the broken B&N Store.
I'm guessing you did a factory reset instead of restore.

Umm, no, I used Indirect's one click unroot/factory restore script.
So, as I stated I unrooted and did a factory restore and then the B&N Market did not work for me.
After doing a deregister and erase after doing the above, it brought the B&N Market back.

Hi, sort of an odd request.
I usually use Titanium Backup on flashing new roms to restore what I have previously purchased. Recently I got two free apps of the day from Amazon, and downloaded one (Drisk) which I want to purchase now.
Problem is I restored on flashing a new rom, and tried the link to market on these apps. I have detached it in Titanium Backup and uninstalled the app, but the problem is now even on the web browser, these apps are incorrectly showing as purchased, so I cannot buy them which is what I want to do.
I have cleared all market data, detached in TB, uninstalled, and it still thinks I bought them, but on install it states declined.
How can I undo/fix this so I can buy these apps through the official market?
Update, in the event others have this issue. I had to detach from market in TB, uninstall, then clear data/cache for the Market app. It seems after waiting they gradually correct the status in the market. I have been able to buy 2 of the 3 apps now, just waiting for the last one to show as non-purchased again.

I am having the same issue. Going to try your method! Wish me luck!
How do you "detach" in TiBU?

Hello! I am so unbelievably desparate I'm almost ashamed of myself hahaha did this method work for you? I "obtained" an emulator and then the market believed I had purchased it and now am unable to buy it so I can own the amazing app....so disappointing. Contaced Google and the developer--only Google answered and with the generic "We are aware of this problem and are currently working on it." I'm curious...once I detach from market through TB, how long must I wait until the option changes from "purchase" to buy?"
I have apps that I purchased (or got free for the day) on Amazon App Store, but want to purchase from Android Market. The problem is that the apps show up as purchased in the Market and I cannot purchase them. I have tried force closing the Market, clearing Market cache, installing the app, attaching it to the Market, detach it from the Market, uninstalling the app, rebooting to recovery, wiping cache & dalvik cache, booting back to the system, clearing Market cache again, but it still shows up as purchased.
I even tried emailing Google's support. Their answer was "According to our records, the device you're using isn't supported for use with Android Market at this time."
Granted, when filling out the form, I put shooter as device, but holy crap, they should know these things if they're supporting Android.
I always has that problem with some apps from amazon. I use TIBU and it work 100% of time detach the apps from the market. You need the premiun tibu, go to the app and long press the title it will show a menu with the option to detach from market.

The phone knows you got the app and it thinks you bought it from the market so it attach the apps, with titanium backup you can detach the apps
Yes, I know. That is what I did. It didn't work.
Why does it matter if an app you got from Amazon for free shows up? You got a full version app from Amazon, which also keeps it up to date, so why the need to purchase from Android Market? I dont understand your reasoning.
From what I read, you got a free app of the day from Amazon (for instance, Hungry Shark 3). Since you got it under the free app of the day, you got the full version, no ad app. This would be the same version you would pay for in the Android Market, which seems to be what you want to do...so why would you want to do that? Amazon gives free updates for apps you downloaded...Im just kind of at a lost for why you need to do this. Maybe explain why you want to buy something you got for free.
Also, uninstall it from the Amazon app store and then it should remove it from the Android Market which will allow you to purchase from Android Market instead
Because the time between the Market update and the App Store update can be months, and I did try uninstalling it, several times
Yea, that's true, updates sometimes take a while. Are you uninstalling from Android Market or from Settings -> Applications.

Market page only shows open (or update for some)

This maybe a more tedious way but you can use titanium backup to detach apps from the android market.
Yeah, I know, that was the first thing I tried
I'm having a hard time following what process has already been done. If you don't want to purchase the app you should be able to get the .apk from your system, temporarily save that somewhere else. Then uninstall from Amazon, clear all data and cache from Amazon. Don't log back in or even open Amazon. Then transfer that.apk back to some folder such as downloads. Install it, use tb to attach it to the market, and you are done. Have you done that? There should be no reason that wouldn't work.
Here's the long process I tried:
FC Market, clear Market cache, install app, attach app to Market using TB Pro, detach app from Market using TB Pro, uninstall app, reboot to recovery, wipe cache/dalvik cache, reboot, clear Market cache again
All this was done while logged out of everything
Yeah, you don't want to do that. The goal is to have the .apk of the full version of the paid app in question, install it, then attach it to the market.

No, my goal is to make the app not show up as already purchased in the Market

OK, Google support actually helped for once.
If you have apps purchased from another app store, and they are showing up in Android Market as Purchased, and no matter what you do, it stays that way, here's what you do:
GSupport told me to just do a factory reset, which didn't actually work since I run AOSP. I had to reformat & flash the stock ROM. Once done, I just went into the Market and purchased the apps I wanted to, then recovered from nandroid.
I'm curious as to why you would want to get the app for free and then pay for it? Maybe I'm missing something but I have no problems getting an app from amazon for free that would have cost me on the market. The again if I'm missing something I'm sorry.

Two reasons:
1) Amazon App Store updates come WAY after Android Market updates
2) Devs don't get anything from FAOTD on Amazon (what's 70% of $0.00?)
Gotcha now I understand thanks for clearing that up.

Tried this and it didn't work; the app I'm trying to purchase is Swift Key X which is .10 today and I'd really like to purchase it through there.
Bah.
I have a rooted NT with Indirects OTA blocker and am still at 9.9.9
I tried to download my first BN book from the original BN Nook interface but it starts downloading but never finishes. The BN site recognizes my account and allows the download but it never finishes. Tried numerous times with more than one book (the free ones).
The only suggestion BN support had for me was to factory restore (sure!).
Any ideas? Has anybody downloaded books after rooting?
Why not try some alternatives?
One. Install Amazon app store and Kindle app. Try those.
Two. Install "calibre" on your desktop computer. Find books on file sharing services. Send books to NT with calibre.

I had the same problem along with my security password not showing up when I powered on. I think mine was caused after I applied TITANIUM backup to restore my apps. Accidentally restored the system backup as well. Well after a factory reset and restore, I'm back on track again.

I already do those things (and they work). It's just that I don't like the idea of something not working when it should.

Not sure what you mean by "security password"? My BN account password must be there because they're "charging me" and allowing the download, it's just that the download never takes place (starts, looks like it's finished, but then asks me to download again).

Had the same issue. I fixed it by DL a book to my PC, then putting it in my Dropbox. When I open it on my NT, it asked for the name and credit card number I used to buy the book. After I entered that the book opened and I was able to DL my other books directly from my NT
That did it. Thank you so much.
How did you ever figure that out?

I've been closely monitoring all the threads on this forum patiently awaiting my delivery of a prime and am now looking for advice.
With all the talk of issues, some fixed by a factory reset, some not. I thought I would undertake a factory reset as soon as my prime is updated to ICS. I'll then have a clean slate to play with
My question is is there anything I should do before commencing?
I read on a thread somewhere that the pre-bundled games were not reinstated after a factory reset. Anything else I should look out for?
Thanks.
I decided to wipe mine this morning after a bunch of apps started having issues if I didn't restart everyday. I suspect some sort of memory leak is to blame, because they all work fine on a fresh boot.
I backed up the pre-bundled Gamestop games via App backup, and am currently in the process of reinstalling ~100 market and kindle apps following my wipe. I'll let you know how well they restore. There's also a zip floating around out there somewhere that contains them as well.

Do you know where the .zip is for those games that came preloaded. I have a gamestop tablet and lost all of those games when I did a factory reset after the ICS update caused issues. (which I still have)
Thanks, I'll check out the App Backup app, and make sure all the Gamestop games are backed up before commencing. I assume all the other preinstalled (potentially non-market apps) are fine, such as Polaris office.
I plan to carry-out the factory reset before I spend any time with so shouldn't have to worry about much else.
Quick note - it does backup apps. Save games, depends on the app. Lost a significant bit of saved data because I didn't feel like rooting before and after wipe... bleh. Back to TiBu.
So I got a new ATT Note i717 so I soon find that i'm missing Amazon App store from the market.
I tried the standard clear Market cache, no go. Also, did a hard reset and clear cache, start to really pull my hair out.
well after some googling, apparently ATT doesnt support the Amazon App store...god just one more reason to hate ATT.
well, off I go to root, unlock and ROM this thing so I can load Amazon from titanium backup.
ok, just got it installed by going to Amazon, they email you a .apk to run after you enter your email.

Why root?
You don't need to root the phone to get amazon market just allow unknown sources in applications or app manager then amazon will email or text apk to you and install it
