THIS IS ABOUT BETA 3
For beta 2 (old OP) see post #72
I HAVE CREATED THIS TO WORK ON WOLFXPERIA V7B6 ULBLDOOM
I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS ON ANY OTHER VERSION OF WOLF'S ROM.
I CANNOT GUARANTEE IF IT WILL WORK ON OTHER ROMS.
(if anyone risks trying this on any other stock based rom, pls give feedback)
(this can work on gaming version too. though i have not checked personally)
So here we go, presenting you with WolfXperia7_ModChamp_BlackEdition (beta3)
As we all know Wolf cooks the best stock based roms around, but as he himself told me he "stays so busy with ROM development, he doesn't get time to make addons/mods for his own roms". So I trying to help all users of wolfxperia by bringing together all goodies an features along with a handful of tweaks into a single mod.
Various people have ported things from other devices to work on the X10, and I've used many of their works. In case i lost track and missed out a few credits here and there, pardon me, and PM me, i'll add all your credits.
My own personal efforts are limited to modding the theme, tweaking the init scripts, and porting the panorama and play launcher app from other xperia ROMs and a few other apps. Other apps are either ported by others or are taken from the market. (I have used only free versions).
---FEATURES---
+provision to install failsafe settings through bootmanager customscript in case of instability
+ makes wolfxperia fully featured. contains all apps that a smartphone should have for optimal functionality
+latest trackid with ics looks (sweden version), latest market 3.4.4 (superfast), latest facebook
+ custom led notifications (like cm/miui) and custom headset button commands (like ipod shuffle)
+apple siri like app (speaktoit) included.
+ all black onyx wallpaper based backgrounds, two themes to chose from (see downloads section), fly and fold animations (smooth and swift)
+ retweaked taskkiller, vm and cpu settings. *might* give better battery life and better performance.
+ preoverclocked at init.d level. preconfigured sleep settings. you could do away with cpu adjustment apps like setxperia or setcpu control
+timescape is themeable using the semc theme manager.
+sweep panorama camera and xperia flashlight, xperia active app(fitness) along with lots of xperia arc apps included (as many as i could make work on this)
+provision for fbix sync bug and missing sms bug
---REQUIREMENTS---
1. a working wolf's v7b6 ulbldoom ROM (preferrably fresh install, but will work otherwise too)
2. doomlord's v6 kernel wiht bootmanager
3. the zip files you'll download from links below
---FILE DETAILS---
Please note that i have split my mod into 4 files because people were complaining about the size
the MAIN.zip is the main mod. contains all tweaks, and features mentioned above. it does not depend on AUXILIARY to run. it gives all features of my mod without installing the other zips
the AUXILLIARY.zip contains third party apps, timescape/music extensions, widgets etc which gives extra features to your phone. it can be installed standalone, but i recommend installing MAIN before installing AUXILIARY
The SEMCAPPS.zip contains *all* Xperia apps from various phones (pro, arc, active) which i could make work on x10. it DOES NOT contain those arc apps that are already present in wolf's ulblDoom ROM. it also contains default semc wallpapers, themes etc.
The THEME(Carbon Black) is the theme i created to use with this MOD originally. the toggles are grey, all icons on stats bar are grayscale, the wallpaper will automatically become black, timescape will be themes black, all menu backgrounds will turn black (backgrounds are based on stock sony black wallpaper). the dropdowns are semi transparent. it also has circullar grey battery
The THEME(cheap colour miui) gives a miui style status bar and all grey icons in system, settings etc are coloured. battery is bar with % (not circle)
****In both the above themes, the connectivity icons will glow BLUE when phone is connected to Google services. EDT tweaks are compatible with both.
#### AUXILIARY, SEMCAPPS AND THEME are optional. they ARE NOT required for MAIN to work.
####If you dont want to change visual appearance. DO NOT install the THEME.
####Don't worry about size of zips. there is lot of freee space in ROM area of x10. It will not eat up your data space or your sdcard space.
$$$$ The zips can be used regardless of whther the you have installed the others or not. you can install them in any order, and can install them in any combination you like
---INSTALLATION---
1. put the zips in sdcard
2. boot into xrecovery and flash the zips
##### i recommend the following order (1. main, 2(or3).auxiliary, 3(or2).semcapps, 4.theme (any one of the two provided)
3. if you are not on full-oc kernel, then flash your respective wifi modules (gregbradley's signature or doomlord's thread)
4. boot your phone. it might take an eternity. please be patient.
(if after the bootanimation, the screen goes black, wait for another minute, pull out battery, and then restart phone again. this should not happen but i encountered this once so telling it. may happen only on first boot, never thereafter)
5. If phone frequently freezes, or gives WLOD while using, or doesn't boot, then please go into bootmanager (preess menu key when blue LED glows at kernel) and "run custom script". this install failsafe init.d scripts
--SETTING UP APPS--
(i have included some precustomized settings for a few apps. you can use them or customize according to your likings.)
1. go to accessibilty settings, enable "light flow led". then open the light flow app, restore the backed up settings you'll find already present in your sdcard. customize further if you want.
2. open "jay's headset control" app and restore the backed up setting already present in your sdcard
3. If you use the "simple calendar widget", you'll find backed up settings for that too. restore that setting, and inside Appearance settings change "day text width" to 130.
4. open gosms app, go through the initial welcome screens, go to settings>advancedsettings>important tips and check "stock sms uninstalled"
next go to advancedsettings>receive settings> check "disable other notifications"
--REMOVED APPS--
>stock sms app (replaced with gosms) - thus no more missing sms problem
>efs explorer - use the root explorer in rom toolbox instead (included)
>stock browser - use opera mini instead (included) ... will save you lots of data usage.
>sound recorder - use rec forge lite instead (included)

EDIT:
There will be a lot of apps i instantly delete from this update because I already have paid versions or already have my own preference, e.g, skyfire instead of opera mini/stock browser...Good work though.
Also, has there been any systemUI.apk or framework-res.apk modifications? I only ask so that any kitchen work that has been done will still be able to apply to this..

yes delete unneeded apps before flashing ( that's common sense. lol)
this is actually meant primarily for ppl flashing fresh wolf rom. gives them loads of features to start with.
yes the framework and systemui are modded and so is semcgenericuxp. all background on all apps are based on black onyx wallpaper. (even changed trackid background, and play launcher background)
___edit______
you've not deleted any apps from my zip before making the mirror i hope?

lol no, the mirror is your .zip as you uploaded it.
Am i right in thinking if you only changed the background in the framework and systemui that wont have any problems with themes based on wolfs original framework and systemui? I use the transparent theme and wouldnt want to lose those effects

delete the "semcgenericuxpres.apk" file from /system/framework/ in my zip and replace it with the one you are using right now, before flashing it. and make a backup in xrevovery anywys before flashing. remember this is a beta and i have tested this for only 1 hr.
____edit______
u can install any theme meant to work on wolfs rom over this mod as well. so even if you don't delete semcgenericuxpres before flashing, u can instal the transparent theme later on over my mod.

we use dd_mm_yyyy in India. so i put it that way.
btw u can see the the init.d scripts too. i have heavily documented them. ha ha ha.

1. took ages to flash, maybe you could remove some system apps that wont be needed in the mod because they are already in the rom, 85 mb seems like it should be a rom on its own.
2. taking ages to boot up, it hit 2 reboots. Total first boot time was about 5 mins.
3. Not a fan of the themeing, but thats just personal taste.
4. got a wlod in go sms on setup.
5. Application lightflow FC
6. Calendar widget works fine
7. Math calculator is good,
8. Speaktoit seems good,
9. Lots of good work, I will keep testing and see how the cpu settings/vdd levels do

there are no apps here which are also on original rom. have included only those apps which are new or modded.
wlod??? umm... delete the 21undervolt script. wlod should not be a gosms app issue. could be undervolt issue.
about lightflow, did you set the accessibility beforehand? did u deny lightflow superuser request?

about the theme... well...the colouring of icons does look cheap-ish at some places. lol. but i am not a pro designer and the only tool i used was ms office picture manager to edit png files. lol.

try it out preferably on a fresh install. infact i would suggest flashing your rom followed directly by flashing this mod. not even booting your rom first time before flashing this mod. that way there are less chances of errors

WLOD in timescape.
Looks like the vdd files are to extreme for my phone, it may be on some other peoples as well...
Including setxperia is a god way to keep tock voltages and allow new users to change the voltages without having to change a sytem file...

This is a Desire (2.1 with Sense) for Nexus ROM. It is what I call barebones since I have removed most of HTC's bloat, ie Sense UI & Widgets. Why bother with the ROM then? Well, there are A few reasons I like the Desire ROM. A few being the copy/paste functionality, browser & social integration. It's a fast ROM with tons of RAM & memory to install apps. I hope you enjoy this ROM as much as I do.
Wipe data, cache & dalvik before flashing.

lol Agreed
lols the reason he posted this early is because he wanted to hype himself up.
Hypeing something like this is a total drizzy / king move. And we all know how "great" those roms were. Trust me this rom won't blow you away.
And he wanted to hype everyone else up... I've always liked evil's hero roms for the mytouch. Can't wait to see what's in store. I bet it's gonna be off of froyo.

Actually, eViL's roms were always awesome on the MyTouch. One of the few devs we had before everybody started making them compatible on the G1 and MyTouch. You can't compare him to King. . . well. . . you can, but it wouldn't be a decent comparison as eViL puts out original products.

I don't think we're impatient, we're just confused why you made a thread with nothing in it. You could have just waited until everything was ready to go to post the thread. It's not like there are only a limited amount of them available and they are going to run out...
I probably won't flash this rom, but at the very least, I found out that there is a battery percentage mod for desire roms. For this, I thank you.

OT: You still a mod at DM?
I dont get people some times, give the guy a chance. Its not like you all have a bazillion roms to choose from and its cluttering up the pages of roms you're trying to choose from. I for one am glad another person has decided to try his hand at a nexus rom and if you would like to see more of them I would suggest a little more courtesy to the people that bring them to you.

Introduction
This is a AOSP / SE hybrid ROMbased on kX10 R3_0x1 (Optimized 2.1.A.0.435 Global Generic). The idea is to strip as much SE out, and put as much AOSP in, as possible.
Since this is based on stock SE firmware, everything should work (Camera, data, WiFi, etc...), with the exception of a few places where Mediascape was embedded (working on it!). Please report bugs.

Modifications
kX10 ROM (Rooted with xRecovery, JIT v2, SuperUser, and busybox installed)
AOSP boot animation
AOSP / Google apks: Alarm Clock, Calculator, Calender, Desk Clock, Custom Locale, Dev Tools, Email, Gallery, Music, Spare Parts
Hybrid* apks: Browser, Phone, Messaging, Settings
3rd Party apks: ExUninstall, OI File Manager, Sysctl Config, Titanium Backup
* "Hybrid" means apks that have been recompiled with SE and AOSP source.
Installation
Download ROM and place on your SD card
Boot into xRecovery
Flash kX10_AOSP_001.zip with xRecovery by using "Install custom zip"
IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY ON .54 or .55 baseband: Flash this with Flash Tool.
Reboot and be patient. First boot can take several minutes at the boot animation. This is normal.
If you want to launch ReadyToRun (the automatic APN thing), launch the browser at first boot and wait for the provider screen to appear.
Future Plans
Port AOSP Dialer, Contacts, and MMS apps
Finish porting AOSP-style lock screen
New battery icons

how do i access the calendar? there's no link in the app drawer
i can see calendar.apk and calendarprovider.apk in /system/app, but there's no links or anything in the app drawer. nothing shows for calendar in launcher pro activities and i cannot link to it in desktop visualizer
That's really weird... It shows up for me (take a look at the screenshots in OP).
Are you on a clean flash? Does it show up on the stock launcher?

Did you perhaps hide it in Launcher Pro because you used a calender widget to access it? Just a shot into the dark...

Apps 2 sd?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I think that some of Sony Ericsson's original apps on the stock 2.1 ROM are very valueable, because they are nicely customized for the small screen of the X10 mini/mini pro. Particularly the address book and phone application, the T9 keyboard and the photo application are good examples and quite essential for me.
Other people do often mention the radio application or even the stopwatch and the alarm clock of SE.
Now, with the release of the 'camera fix' for the X10 mini/mini pro Cyanogen 7 ROM's, it's tempting for me to finally change the ROM on my device.
So I would like to know:
Is it possible to use SE apps of the stock 2.1 ROM like the address book and phone app on CM7 ROM's (MiniCM 7 / GingerDX etc.)? If not, is it possible to port them like the apps of the Xperia Arc/Play in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982051 ?
Probably it would be useful to create a central list of SE X10 mini 2.1 apps (or modified versions of them) here, which work on CM7 ROM's, because I couldn't find such a list.
I would appreciate any contributions.

lemme get it one by one...
1)address book and phone app: i feel the CM7 is WAYYYY better and more customized!!!...y u want dat horrible dialer of stock mini???...even if u want, u can get it in the forums...dere is a thread with all the stock 2.1 apps listed in a zip
2)t9 - the "squash input method" is available in CM7 too,and frankly looks and feels better than the stock 1... although the key arrangement is similar
3) Radio, stopwatch and alarm - u can get the radio in the forums itself. the stopwatch, timer etc is available in the market as "xperia chrono", "xperia timer", etc. again, the alarm clock app is better for CM7 than stock 2.1
4) Camera Fix- u can get the stock camera 2 work as a "photo camera" in custom ROMS, but if u want the continuous auto-focus in video, get LGCamPro 5.95 and set the focus mode as "semi-continuous"...u get the "continuous auto-focus" back while recording videos....
ALL IN ALL, IF U WANT TO HAVE ALL THESE 2.1 APPS, SEARCH FOR THE THREAD IN THE FORUMS (sorry, I FORGOT THE URL, it has ALL the 2.1 apps), then u got 3 ways...
a) use winzip, winrar to delete and replace the files and then flash the updated ROM to ur cell using xrecovery\CWM
b) push using ADB
c) use ROOT Explorer.
hope i helped
if i helped you, kindly press the "THANKS" button

I think the larger fonts are much better recognizable in the SE address book, but that's of course just a matter of personal preference.

Hm, most people tell the Radio app wouldn't work quite well...
Did a search on Android market and could just find XperiaTimer, which is just for the X10 (not mini).
But I think it's no problem, because I've found this thread with ported Xperia Arc apps including the T9 keyboard and the address book:

A very good tip. I'am using lgCamera on 2.1 - it has much better sound than the stock video app - but didn't know about the "semi-continuous" as a "real continuous" function.

What I want is the default conversation app for sms and mms, the SE or the android default, don't care but not those furnished by CM...
ok....so, i am attaching the apps that u all requeated in the zipped archive...these are the x10 mini stock applications...the zip contains:

2.calculator
3.calender+calender provider
4.radio
5.SEMC contacts
6.SEMC music, SEMC video
7.SEMC speed dial
8. TIMER
9.Email Smaill UI
10. SEMC media provider
11. Widgets - data monitor, data traffic switch, digital clock, enhanced google search, recentcalls, status swithch

if u want the apk's of the timescape, am sorry, i deleted those files as i found the arc timescape to be good enough....(practically i don't use it, it's a RAM hog)

I changed the permission and nothing...
Greetings
I tried Video in MiniCM7 205 and it force closed, too. How do I uninstall it? Drop to uninstall doesn't work, and it didn't show in Titanium backup.
The digital clock widget worked nicely, though! Thanks!
And which one is camera? Sorry, but I can't identify it.

Thanks for the help!
I just installed semcCamera using Root Explorer and this works too under MiniCM7 -- but pushing the 'up' button causes a crash. I don't remember what it did, but possibly it is for changing to Video which I do not have installed as it crashed.

Introducing, a new ROM based on the amazing acervenky's Vision™Rom,
TinyXperiaLite™
Many people want simple, fast and bloat free ROMs. They only want the bare minimum ROM so that they can freely add and tweak (the ROM or directly, the sources) so as to customize it as they please. I know I do. I want to take a minimum ROM, flash it on my phone and then add AC!D Audio Engine 5.0 and Sony Xperia T Small Apps to it. These are my personal modifications that suit me. And similarly, there will be modifications that will suit others as well. So, presenting TinyXperiaLite. The main purpose of this ROM is to enable you to make what you want for your device. Add apps, features, change boot animation, add ring tones and what not because this ROM weighs in only at 76 MB (for Release v0.1) and can support all your demands.

Battery & RAM Tweaking Guide
Battery Calibration Tutorial
FOR THOSE WITH BATTERY PROBLEMS:
1. After flashing your phone with a new ROM, install this software:
BATTERY CALIBRATOR on Play Store - 47 KB size
2. Then, charge your phone to 100%.
3. IMPORTANT. Remove CHARGER first.
4. IMMEDIATELY hit "Battery Calibration" (1 or 2 seconds delay is fine, wait for BATTERY voltage to drop and be stable)
5. Use your phone normally (don't charge in between) till it hits 1%.
6. Then charge your phone UNINTERRUPTED (leave it for charging all night) till 100%.
7. Unplug and start using. You should be having as little as 2-3% battery drain for 6-8 hours of IDLING now. That's the optimization of a calibrated battery.
Click to collapse
Extra Battery Saving Tips:
1. Set a brightness level. Do not use Auto Brightness, it sips more power in turn.
2. Set ROTATION to OFF if you are not using Landscape Mode at all.
3. Use EXTENDED BATTERY Mode if you actively use WiFi/Mobile Data.
RAM Cleaning
- Do not use task killers
- Freeze/Move to Quarantine those APPS which you DO NOT USE regularly and you don't want them TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND
APP QUARANTINE on Play Store
Go ahead, try it. Move all unwanted apps to quarantine now!
DEEP SLEEP STATE battery saving
Your phone sips the least amount of power when it is in DEEP SLEEP STATE. There is a new app in the marketplace which can FORCE DEEP SLEEP STATE on your phone. This is especially useful if you want the phone to conserve battery for hours and then wake up for a minute and sync all new alerts in one go. This can help prolong your usage on a single charge.
DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER on Play Store
This app is under development and can be found on XDA developers forums itself. Here's the link to the thread:
[APP] [2.1+] Deep Sleep Battery Saver
How Deep sleep Battery Saver works
Deepsleep battery saver constantly puts the device to deepsleep mode while screen off. During deepsleep mode, Wifi, 3G are turned off, background apps are stopped. Therefore, most apps are not working, including Facebook, Google Service, etc,. It then constantly wakes up in order to download email, sync Facebook status, etc, which is defined by deepsleep frequency and woke up duration
By constantly put device into deepsleep mode, we will save battery life due to no Internet connection, and therefore most of network-based apps, such as Facebook, Gmail will not work.
Caution: during deepsleep mode on, this app may disrupt your normal activities, such as your email notification comes with larger delay.
In advanced mode, you can customize more parameters, including day/night settings, active period, screen timeout, sync strategy, ignored apps, etc,.

Root FW, install CWM and flash this ZIP. Make backup before that.
does it come with a default keyboard? and if yes, which one?
- I enjoy xperia kb's sliding function in both english and greek a bit too much to give up.
[edit, since we're already talking about this rom, my staple lockscreen request!]
is it possible to change the camera shortcut to mute (like it was in stock GB ?) - much more useful imo - considering the camera is sub-par anyway.
So I was getting bored and flashed StryFlex v2.0, the Xperience p) was great but I was disappointed to see that CM Messenger didn't change color according to theme accent. No matter what theme I applied it was still cyan blue.
Therefore I present my themed CM Messenger ! (I am just bragging here seriously it is the same CM Messenger with a bit change so that now it gets color from StryFlex Themes yay ! )
Please remember to hit thanks after flashing my mod cause that will encourage me to make awesome mods like this one in future
Requirements:
- TWRP or Philz for flashing zip (haven't tested it on CM Recovery, can anyone try and report?)
- StryFlex v2.0 rom
- A cooking pan

I was going to do that but figured same color might look good. The calculator app looks kind of weird because of accent color Also I have modified systemui a bit too (for analog clock so that on lockscreen it shows theme color for second's hand instead of red) and I was going to modify calendar app too so that it shows theme color for weekends instead of red but apparently I am missing com.sonyericsson.uxp.apk (the second framework...) to decompile Sony Calendar app. Do you think you can help me with that? I think you might have that framework..

Thanks for reporting I will try to fix it soon (right now my cell is in bootloop thanks to CM12.1 build 0921 so going back to 0919) if you want to you can extract the contents of zip and place system/app/mms/mms.apk from extracted folder to /system/app/mms on your phone using any file explorer like root explorer or solid explorer and set permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--)
Edit: Also make sure the zip you downloaded isn't corrupted, just redownload the zip and give that one a shot. Sometimes for God knows what reason the zip gets corrupted.

Glad to hear you liked it :highfive:
Great job! If you want to make it even more sony-like, you can add the smileys from sony ui, like Inceptic did in his lollipop mod. Plus it would fix the bug on stock messaging app that you cant see default android smileys on green background

I was actually going to do that the other day but figured I had to ask Inceptic for his permission first.. Also I am really struck in University work these days that I barely have time to breathe I will get back to this mod when I find enough time. Also suggestions are really appreciated as that will tell me what people really want and I can try adding it
How about
For next smilies? I cannot add all of them (e.g if sick doesn't exist by default in CM Messenger then I cannot add it - yet) but I will replace all existing ones (e.g Happy faces ) with respective images

Haha, I used this on my Nokia N900 and they didn't look as good as I thought they would. When messaging app resizes them, it's hard to see which is which, you have to look very closely and it's kinda annoying

I had these on my HTC Explorer too and I know what you mean, the resize issue is really annoying to fix that I actually made smilies big enough so we can view them easily but that created problems like chopped smilies in conversation list and widget.. I will see what I can do to fix that..
