I have a casemate pop, which I happen to like everything about EXCEPT that in jean pockets, the rubber portion of it glues it into my pocket, making it impossible to pull out quickly. What's another good i777 case I could look at?
SGP cases... but expensive and lots of fake ones on eBay now.
Rearth Ringke (can't post a link because I don't have enough posts but it's rearthusa dot com)
Thin, good looking, and doesn't stick in your pocket.
Check out sgp cases, they are a little pricey but totally worth it and they keep the phone slim and keep the design... It's the only case i've liked to be honest because of the fact they dont really stick to your pockets

SGP Linear or Casemate Barely There Aluminum. The downside is that these cases are rather slick. Of course the flipside is that slide in and out of pants just fine.
I don't mind spending the money: I spend enough on this phone that a case to protect it is worth it
A lot of the SGP cases are i9100 formfactors... Do they have cutouts for the noice cancelling mics, or would I have to get crafty with a dremel?

The one I bought was for the att model, go to their site and you can find it all, I got the one that has the back cover exposed so that you can still see the galaxy SII logo and access the battery too. There was also a hole for the noise cancelling mic

I find it to be quite sticky, actually, but that's in comparison to the bare phone.
Personally, I use a generic hard-silicone/rubber case. Phone's light enough not to die upon falling and this keeps minor dings off of it. Screen's good w/ Invisible Shield. And did I mention these cover the whole back? I still don't understand why you guys leave that flimsy, plastic battery door to face the elements...
i use the casemate barely there aluminum, as far as cases go its pretty nice butat $40 its on the expensive side

I vote for the Otterbox case
I've been using ringke cases for a while and they are awesome. They do lose their firmness after maybe a year or so. But, they are cheap! Right now the Ringke slim case looks really attractive, but I don't think it would absorb the shock from bumps as well

This looks interesting to me. Since it will take Seidio forever to offer accessories. I need something to tide me over.

I ordered one. I had gotten the krussell extra-large holster case, but it is waaaay too big, so I'll be shipping that back to amazon.
I'll post a followup. The only worrisome thing is from the pictures it might be cheap in that the backing is only one width and doesn't taper to the top edge of the phone.
Let me know how the holster is with that case

i believe those are PureGears. They made that same design for the iPhone. Insanely good price and didn't add a crazy bulk to the iPhone for having case+holster.
I saw seido holster from the galaxy captivate worked with the S2 though
I have a holster for my captivate from seidio. It doesn't fit, too small. I wonder if you were to get the one of the combo packs and not use the shell if it would fit though. I may order one just to check.
I went ahead and ordered the case from ebay also. I will review when it comes in.

Two problems with it:
1. The secondary mic is covered up. I plan on drilling a hole with the dremel to open it up.
2. Because of the top tab (see first image) you can only choose to have the USB available or the headphones available when it's in the holster, but not both. Again a small cut-out in the tab could make it not block the headphones, which I might do as well.
@othermark

Also it fits perfect in the infuse dock with the case on! !

Yep, it took about 50-75 pulls before it started to easily slide in and out.

When it is in the holster in the face-out position, is it stable? Can I go for a jog with it on my belt and not worry about it?
Also, has anyone tried this holster with any other case? And will it work face-out as well?

It's very stable. The face-out position has more friction to it than the face-in position. Both positions don't budge when seated, but it will take more force to remove it from the face out position.

I'm using the holster with The Agf case with the leather insert from the att store. I had to do a few easy mods to make it slide in easier but I'm diggin this combo.

Hey All. Got my Amaze yesterday and its already up and running on the Energy ROM with faux kernal; thanks to those respective devs. With the flashing out of the way for now, time to look into some cases. As everyone is aware, amaze is not the lightest or thinnest phone, so a case with minimal weight would be desireable. I ran into a matte snap on case from ebay, wanted to know if anyone here has any feedback on these. I am not going after the price (I am open to spend whatever for the ideal case), but more so on the "thin" part. Sadly, I can't post the url due to my noob status, but its easily searchable under "Matte BLACK Hard Snap On Thin Back Case Cover For HTC T-Mobile Amaze 4G".
Looking forward to being part of the Amaze community!
I have a two piece black rubberized case on my one amaze, and a one piece hard case on the other one. Both are light, and fit pretty good. the two piece fits tighter, and has cutouts for all the mic holes on the back cover etc. and they all line up. its just a cheap ebay case. And both are thin. Any cheapie case you get on ebay will be light, and the best part is after a couple months just pay $3-5 and get a new one.
The one piece doesen't cover the top and bottom of the phone, just the sides, so it won't protect as well as the two piece, and if I ever have to pop the two piece apart to get at the back cover, it comes apart easy.
I'd get a cheap two piece, try it out. if you need more protection, then upgrade, but i'd start at ebay.
Be careful with some of the cheap ebay snap-on cases. I got one for a previous phone that was front and back pieces that snapped together. It was thin and looked OK but it would pop open when dropped and the phone would come out and land unprotected. It was ok for scratch protection and keeping the screen off the table but provided very little to zero drop protection.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I have to consider the drop protection. When I was searching youtube for cases, the videos were showing cases which was huge. Yes it protects the phone, but it’s very uncomfortable to carry around. Might have to try some on from the local mall kiosk if anything.
I just went with a cheap ebay case from eforcecity and I'm satisfied. I think I paid $6 shipped and it came with a screen protector.
I got one from ebay that is really good, it comes with a holster. Trust me, thiz isnt like the ones that are cheap made and snaps when minimal force aplied to it. This is high quality. Not bulky either.

I too have this case, it works great. I have not noticed any difference in my network connection signal strength which was a concern and has provided good protection for the phone in its couple of drops. I work in a hydraulics shop with hardened concrete floors and it has held up well. As a side note the case also holds up well when exposed to mineral and petroleum based hydraulic fluids.

I'm a new Note user. I love the phone, but i must admin the size at times can be annoying. I have a protective case for the phone, but i found it to be too cumbersome when throwing the phone in my pocket when i leave the house. What i do now is when i am home i throw the phone in a cheapo silicone case, and when i leave the house, i take it out of the case and put it in my pocket. I'm not crazy about the fact that i am out of the house with my phone with no protection.
Does anyone have this same dilemma? Its not the end of the world, but I'm just curious how others handle it?
Thanks.
I use a leather pocket case. That really protects it. But when I use it the phone is naked and skinney. It's a habit I aquired from my old BlackBerry days.

I have three of the cruzerlite androidified cases. (Green, clear, and white, they had some deal like but 2 get 1 lol) I've always liked tpu cases on all my past phones.
Only problem with the case is how small the opening for the headphone port is. I used a hole punch to open them up. It feels a bit plasticky/hard at first then breaks in and is a bit more pliable. Doesn't add much bulk compared to casemate, trident, candyshell, etc.

I always use a case on mine. I have an otterbox defender series case, so it came with the belt holder so I usually use that if I'm having pocket issues. Usually though I don't wear pants that are constrictive around the crotchal region though so I can just throw it in my pocket even with the size of the phone and the case.

Phone is naked in my pocket with screen protector.
When I am in the car, the phone is dock with the car dock.
When i had a note i used the book cover case. Seems to be the best option for some people.
I don't use a case. I bought the leather book like case from the AT&T store that replaces the back piece to the phone but that was short lived. I got tired of having to fold it back just to answer calls etc.

Last night I got the only case available at the closest T-Mobile store. It's from Tech21 and cost $35, with a nice grippy texture & "D3O impact material".
Meh.
Here's a picture taken with my nexus 10 that might show the poor fit at the side of the screen.
View attachment 2303496
That extra shiny edge at the right is the silver frame/side of the Note 3.
I'll probably return it today because the sides flex too much & I'm afraid it'll screw up a screen protector.
It also makes the phone a little harder to fit in some pockets because of the combination of added bulk & drag from the texture.
I'll try to get something with a TPO inner layer and enough plastic on the outside to not drag too badly going into a pocket. That might be like looking for a unicorn since there are so few cases available right now, and almost none I can see in person.

I have same case as well. It's very slim.
I got that case too for now, it fits perfectly if you squeeze in all around as it molds to the phone a little bit and you won't see any gap afterwards. If it was clear and not smoky I would keep it, there are alternatives on Amazon for 1/3rd the price. Not that I mind spending 35 dollars for a case but not one so simple, give me a slim fit Speck or BodyGlove with a kickstand and I'm all over it and they usually go for 25 -35 dollars.
Tech21
I bought one these also for TMO note 3 until they start pushing out some other choices.

OK, I returned the Tech 21 case and they showed me another that came in today. It was by Bodyglove, the same price, made of shiny black TPU. It felt good on the phone and had a good grip in the hand. The sides felt a little stiffer than the first on, EXCEPT at the buttons. Above the buttons the TPU flexed way too much. I'm pretty sure it'll rub at the edge of a screen protector, maybe enough to make the screen protector lift.
I'll just have to wait on a Slim Armor, or something else with a hard shell over a soft liner.

I ended up buying the body glove for now, and so far its pretty good, I can't wait for my UAG case to come in though.
I bought this a temporary, and it's not that great imo , as the power button is pretty hard to depress.
I also bought this as a "temporary case" and actually like it as well-- much slimmer than I thought it would be. I also like the "grippy" material on the back that doesn't slide around in my car. I had the "official" samsung case on my note 2, and that thing would fly across my car/lap/seat any time I made a turn.
Look forward to seeing other options come out though. Great job by Tech21, imo.

On mine:
Hi everyone! Just recently got this behemoth of a phone, and it is just too beautiful to go naked bc if I dropped it, it's over. So that saying, my mom has a Galaxy note 2 and she has a case-mate POP case from AT&T on clearance for like $5, and it's a solid case. I want a case similar to this case, where if the phone landed on it's face, it won't be damaged a lot since there's enough lip on the case. This won't really be a major factor since I will be putting a tempered glass protector on it. The major thing I'm trying to find is a case where it won't eat a lot of lint if you do fit it in your pocket, and won't slip off at the corners if you do drop it! I have seen cases that is made out of just TPU claiming tight fit, but as soon as it lands, the phone goes one way and the case goes the other, and also the battery....
I have seen the spigen slim armor, and it looks solid compare to the neo-hybrid. All the other cases are too bulky, like the lovemei, or the ballistic series. Please list your suggestion, and real life photos of the case, including the lip clearance on the screen if you can so I can make my decisions Thanks a lot once again!:good::fingers-crossed:
Slim Armor is a good option if you don't want too much bulk. This case fits very snugly and won't come off unless you pill it off. It provides only modest drop protection though. If you want really good protection an Otterbox commuter or similar such as trident aegis would be better. Those cases make the phone significantly larger though.

I just got the spigen neo hybrid and it's a really nice slim case. I love the styling. Seems like it should be adequate protection for normal use. I just got it today though so not going to comment on the long term.
