hi all,
just a quick question (& bear with me please I'm new to all this). I have a rooted amaze. the wifi calling update is available but will I be able to install it?
I am not running any custom roms. I just rooted to remove some of the bloatware.

That is not true, if you deleted some of the system apps then the update should fail. Also, in the case i'm wrong and it will update, you will lose your root and will get the bloatware back.
flash the stock rom from this thread > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308078
it should be the one that says this:
Deodex tmobile 1.43.531.3: (make sure to flash kernel to get wifi back new kernel in this update )
http://www.multiupload.com/FJ50I4FVK3(refixed)
MD5:658bb8cb2cb22e0c8b9cdc310326c99b
thx guys. So I tried the update and it just stays on a black screen with a green x in the middle like the clockwork recovery mod x. No progress bar or anything. I let it stay that way for 17 minutes then finally I decided to pull the battery. when it came back on it prompted me to install the update but I hit later.
I only uninstalled lookout, more for me, tmo mall and visual voicemail (so far).
Should I just forget about it? I was looking forward to this to help with the shoddy service in my house

Just saw your reply fc. I'll try that when i get home thanks

why not just flash the stock rom with new kernel then remove what ever you like? the new kernel is the ota wifi calling update, the kernel flasher only takes seconds and then just wait for the phone to boot up after flashing rom. Dont forget to backup.
Edit: oh ok lol and fyi if you dont want to flash new kernel then just flash xboarders 1.5.1 quicksense rom, he already has wifi calling included in there. Good Luck!
HTC Amaze Rooting Problem
Hi,
I am quite new to Andriod and just trying the rooting for the first time.
I have HTC Amaze 4G on Mobilicity in Canada.
I was trying to root my phone. My attempt was failed in the stage of unlocking the bootloader,
I was following the instruction on HTCDev site
I successfully retrieve the token code. However, When I enter this token to HTCDev site it gives me following error.
We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.
I checked everything...token was copied properly, I checked there is no additional space.
Can anyone suggest me any other procedure to root my phone?

I'm a total noob so take my reply with 2 grains of salt...
But I read on the rooting thread that aparently the problem is (at least with Telus users) that since HTC Dev added the Tmo amaze to the list now the Telus get CID errors since they are in the "wrong" country.
May be that is what is happening to you too????
You can read more about it in that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324177&page=25 just look around there and see if it applies to you too...

I do have a noob question...
Can somebody explain briefly how/what is this wifi calling?
Is it something just for the US?
I live in Costa Rica and I used to use Skype on my previous Windows mobile 6.5 phone but now on this Amaze I found that my Service provider is blocking the Skype connection through 3G so I'm wondering if wifi calling is something I can use for cheap international calls.

Wifi calling is a built in feature for the Amaze that lets you use your wifi signal as reception in cases where your cell phone reception is horrible.
So you can basically make calls over a wifi network.
Unless you're with Tmobile specifically and register a 911 address (depending on plan calls made from your 911 address will not use minutes) calls made over a wifi network WILL use your minutes.
Wifi calling won't let you make free calls.
There are other programs for this.
I'll search some threads to find it for you or maybe someone else can suggest some "calling apps" that utilize wifi networks and doesn't use minutes.
I remember reading about a couple of apps that lets your make international calls for free by using wifi.
I forget the names though as I don't have a need for those apps.
Hope this helps.

Wifi calling is basically Skype except it goes through TMOU routers, it's otherwise known as VOIP. Sometimes I work out of the house and in the lower level where I have my office the TMOU service stinks, maybe 1 bar, the calls break up, you know the drill. I installed Crackeyes rom with wifi calling enabled so know it connects to my wireless router and is pretty sweet, calls sound better & I don't have to worry as much about breaking up. But it's not totally smooth sailing, sometimes the connection is for lack of a better term weird with lots of artifacts, typically the other party will say something and when I call them back it's better, sometimes a reboot of the phone helps, not sure why.
I'd be interested to know how this works internationally as well. Of course it's not going to give you any benefit on a 3/4g connection that's not the point.

It doesn't, at least if you mean calling from abroad to the U.S. don't know about calling from the US to other countries.

I have the unlocked UK version of the phone and it does have Internet Connection Sharing in settings for sharing via wifi. Not sure if other versions of the phone will have it. AT&T phones will probably come with it locked down, not sure if unlocking the phone will also allow access to Internet Connection Sharing.
Thanks for the info. Hopefully unlocking the phone will let me tether it. I'm going to wait and see if it works before I buy it.
Would also love some more info. Was able to stealth-tether with my Focus without unlocking/jailbreaking, and that was super-handy since I do it so rarely and don't want to have to add it to my plan...
Now the Focus is dead and I'm 99% likely to be purchasing a Titan tomorrow.

Looks like expansys is carrying the us version now with the hspa+ 850,1900,2100 bands. That one looks non carrier branded so it should work with internet connection sharing. Really curious if someone has a AT&T Titan they have unlocked that allows ICS.

I have it unlocked on Telus. Just tried the internet sharing and funny enough it still says to contact ATT or dial 611 lol.. So I'm with Telus yet I need to contact ATT?? Right..
I have SIM-FREE UK version and can tether on Giffgaff gigabags. No issues at all. No jailbreaking needed, no unlocking of any sorts.
Sounds like the conclusion here is the unlocked unbranded version is okay to to use Internet Sharing.
AT&T locked or unlocked (like me) you are out of luck.
However I'm curious who can actually unlock this feature for an unlocked ATT model. Your current carrier? ATT directly? HTC?
Or are you just screwed?

I do have the Internet Sharing option is settings.
When I turn it on it says "Connection not shared - To enable tethering on this device, go to att.com/mywireless or dial 611"
It's unlocked and not on ATT.

Oh, well I assume you're not using an unlocked ATT Titan? I know the unbranded model has no issues with internet sharing.
I was trying to get tethering working as well (at&t titan on Rogers) i phoned around and the HTC rep said tethering needs to be added onto my account. I have a 6GB data plan that does not include tethering (i know rogers says anything over 1GB has it but technically my account does not include it). The Rogers Rep said i would need ot go down to a 1GB plan for them to addon tethering to my account and then the phone should authenticate and work.
Is anyone here able to test that out and confirm?
---------- Post added at 03:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:20 AM ----------
my current theory is that the at&t phone actually authenticates back to the carrier to verify tethering is added onto the account rather than just sharing out its current internet connetion.
if anyone can test and get back to us it might be helpfull

I'd be surprised if that actually worked. However I have speculated a way that should allow unlocked ATT branded Titan users like us to be able to use Internet Sharing. Sadly this won't be an option until the next MS Windows Phone update is rolled out. I'll explain..
When I had my HD7 it was T-Mobile branded unlocked on Wind Mobile. At first it was filled with all kinds of T-Mo apps etc and similarly locked to T-Mo within the OS. But once the updates starting rolling out from MS I forced them to my phone rather than waiting for T-Mo and it essentially made it become unbranded. The Internet Sharing feature was available as an update on my HD7 when the unbranded models received theirs and it was fully functional. So whenever MS rolls out whatever next update there is forcing it to our Titans should make it fully unbranded and at the same time unlock our Internet Sharing feature.
I'm with At&t and can verify that once I switched my plan from unlimited to "4g with tethering" I've been able to use Wifi Sharing. In fact i'm using it right now.
I think it's a value in the registry to check or not. We'll see once we can edit it.

Add me to the list of ppl curious how to do it for free. I very rarely use the option, but I'd like it nonetheless...
Titan on Rogers
I have an AT&T branded Titan unlocked running on Rogers. I had a 1GB plan without tethering and I was getting teh same issue when I tried to enable tethering. So, I phoned Rogers and now I have a 6GB plan which has tethering enabled.
Restarted my phone, same issue.
I think that in order for this to work either I have to update the phone so that it is unbranded (how would I do this?) OR there is a registery key or file that needs to be changed so that the check to the carrier no longer happens.
Hmmmmm....
I think i know what needs to be done. My buddy has a Samsung Focus Flash from At&t (forgot to check but i assume it would give him the same At&t tethering message we're all getting).
Anyways we interop unlocked it and pushed the wifi tethering patch for WP7 and my guess it overwrote the At&t lockdown because he is able to tether without any issues.
Good news is we can get it working - bad news we have to wait for someone to interop unlock the Titan - which so far hasn't been done
This whole thing with tethering is flat getting old. We should have it std on the phone if we have an unlimited plan like I do and some of the others do. This sucks and is a good reason to take our business elsewhere where the feature is included.
I really don't use it much but that is not the point.
Okay, I'm done ranting and raving about this and I am back to normal.
Whenever I try using wifi calling I get a REG02 "Invalid SIM" card...I am currently using the Android Revolution HD rom. Anybody experienced this issue in the past or has a fix? thank you

Probably not. Worth a try but I have my doubts. You probably won't see a stable solution until it is properly supported by the phone and carrier. Sad, but true. There have been so many reported issues with it that it was pulled from an the device just prior to the release and even the several attempts to hack it back in haven't been all that successful which was why boarder pulled it from his latest rom.
ok so it now works. had to contact t-mobile and specifically ask them to add the wifi calling feature to my line. thanks for the help
hey felinos you said you had to ask them? how did you like ask them? did you tell them your phone is rooted? I have the problem where i get the "add 911 address" error I added the address but still have trouble

These issues really aren't a ROM thing. The WiFi calling was taken from leaked stuff I believe from when the amaze first had WiFi calling, but it's very buggy and hit and miss some people have issues some don't. I didn't work for me at first then recently I tried again but had all sorts of issues, I would say just try hanging in until the official release from t Mobile comes out then these guys will base there roms off the newest release or at least use the newest WiFi calling and if theres still issues we can take it up with t Mobile. Very frustrating to be in this crap wait when t Mobile has this phone plastered all over the website and is a top phone.

Unlocked Amaze for Wifi Calling
Hi
I've got the amaze in the UK unlocked to use a giffgaff sim and used an RUU to manually update it so now I'm on 1.43.531.3 the T-mobile version so when trying to use wifi calling I get the error message ER05 "invalid Sim Card". Is there anyway to get wifi calling in this scenario?
I have a SIM-unlocked AT&T Titan, and I was looking forward to using it to the max.
However, I've run into a problem. When I click Internet Sharing, it tells me to contact AT&T. My carrier allows tethering, and I don't think AT&T will do anything for me.
What is my recourse?

Throw the Titan in the ocean. Seriously though, not much you can do. I am using an AT&T "unlocked" Titan on Tmobile that I bought from Microsoft and I can't tether even though Tmobile doesn't care. Until someone manages to unlock this phone it is really a worthless investment. Don't get me wrong, I love the promise of the Titan it's just that the corporate scumbags at AT&T have severely disabled it.

I wish AT&T, being the "premier partner" of WP7, wasn't allowed to hobble it so severely.
AT&T Charges a premium for tethering. So why do you expect AT&T ever give you a phone with free tethering? It locked down iPhones and Android phones. Wp7 will not be any different.

Tethering is possible if you follow the "permanent unlock" post further up on the topics list. This permanent unlock has the added advantage of enabling internet sharing on OTHER NON-ATT sims. Be careful NOT TO RUN HTC Connection Setup after you do this as somehow this little HTC apop reenables the ATT internet sharing lock. I am posting this with an ATT Titan with Permannent unlock and a TMOBILE sim with Internet sharing enabled. Unfortunately all I can manage is edge with Tmobile in this phone but I assume in Europe I can have full 3g. This hack does not enable Internet sharing with an ATT sim unless you have the tethering plan. And for what it's worth, ATT are cretan ass*****s when it comes to tethering. I bought their PAYGO 1 gig data plan and it will not allow me to tether. Please explain to my why the f*** I shouldn't be able to tether when I PAY for a specific amount of data??!! Obviously I can't HOG bandwidth as I PAID for this data. When I go over my 1 gig I am charged more. Seriously, ATT have their heads up their a** and I am looking forward to seeing them go out of business. They are simply the worst provider on the planet and should be boycotted at all costs.
Fixed
Hi,
I think I have found the solution to this issue (a lill time consuming though).. It wasn't working for me and after doing the following I am able to do the internet sharing on my unlocked AT&T HTC Titan...
First you need to reset your phone to factory settings by doing the following (beware that all your personal data, applications and settings will be gone so better sync your phone with your PC first.. ):
Go into settings->about->reset your phone (you might need to scroll to the bottom). It confirms twice.. do that to reset your phone
After the phone is back on, try setting it up as your would do to a new device.
*** HTC Connection Wizard or Setup(whatever is that app called) seems to be the culprit so DO NOT install that app ever if you want the tethering to work.. It seems it resets some registereis as soon as it is switched on which blocks the tethering there after**
You might want to use 'reinstaller' app from the market place which will help you get all your previously installed apps by connecting to the Windows Live account and going through the list of apps you ever installed using that Windows live account. This process is the most tedious one but still better then nothing..
Once all this is done, connect your phone back to your PC and sync back in all the content that you lost from your cell while resetting.
Hope this helps.

@vatsal1212 - I did the same prior to Dft HSPL and it didn't work for me too. If you want the IS to work with your AT&T phone you will need to flash custom (fully unlocked) rom. However, it is not a straight forward process especially with AT&T branded Titan. I suggest for you to read these related threads:

Getting rid of this message is easy if you have interop unlock. You will need to send root tools to the phone with a xap deployment tool (like from the windows phone sdk) then use the registry editor to add this value
[HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings] OpenMarketEnabled=dword:1
Then edit this value so it reads:
[HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings] EntitlementURI=./Vendor/MSFT/Registry/HKLM/Comm/InternetSharing/Settings/OpenMarketEnabled
Here's a link to a thread that explains the process poorly. The key is to have the two lines above in your registry. No matter how you get to the regediting step. Worked for my focus flash.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776363
I originally posted this to WPcentral but no one seems to care... I find it quite compelling and I thought I'd share...
I have read a lot of different forums that The Lumia 920 from Roger has a hard time working with other carriers when unlocked. Specifically, internet Sharing seems to be broken.
Some have speculated that the phone is supposed to "detect" or "read" the settings right off the sim card but all the Rogers phone owner have reported that this is not happening.
I like evidence, not speculation. So I went ahead and downloaded the RM820_1232.2109.1242.1002_RETAIL_nam_canada_200_02_100347_prd_signed ROM off nokia's web site using NaviFirm+ 1.7. then I hex-edited the rom itself...
Boy is that stuff interesting. I found a section written in XML called "OEMCustomizationPackage". That sounded too good to be true... so I dug up the xml and found a bunch of interesting settings like custom ring tones, initial tile placement BUT...
I also found this...
<Component ComponentName="ConnectivityCustomizations">
<SettingsGroup>
<Setting Name="ADC path set" Value=""/>
<Setting Name="ADC enabled" Value="0"/>
</SettingsGroup>
Call me crazy but ADC in WP8 parlance stands for "automatic data configuration" and unless I'm dumb as a rock, the setting sure seems to me like it's disabled!!!
Now of course If only there was another line that said <Modified by your carrier to make your life miserable = 1> but sadly there aren't.
So it begs the question... was the setting disabled by Nokia?, Rogers? or worst... Microsoft?
I don't expect I'll have an answer to this but I have a support call in with Nokia that got bumped to Level 2 support... the conversation will get interesting
[Update]
I looked at the OEMCustomizationPackage XML for the ATT firmware and ADC is disabled (tested on RM820_1232.2109.1242.1001_RETAIL_nam_usa_100_01_95122)
did the same for a random European firmware... settled on the France firmware (RM821_1232.2109.1242.1001_RETAIL_eu_france_267_01_95741 ) and the setting is NOT IN the OEMCustomizationPackage XML
Now I'm not gonna waste any more bandwidth testing other firmwares but this is evidence enough to prove there was a deliberate effort to cripple the North American firmware by ATT and Rogers. I cannot wait to talk to the support rep from Nokia and hear what he has to say... Best case scenario, they let me have a generic Firmware and I'm home free... but most likely, they'll release an app just like they did with the lumia 900. It was called "Nokia Network setup"
[Update]
Hmmm, that's an interesting find! Keep us updated if Nokia comes back to you with anything.
I’m stuck over in the UAE right now. I have a brand new 920 from AT&T that I can’t use because no one can sim unlock them yet. Would it be possible to flash this thing with another ROM and get it sim unlocked so I can use it over here?
Thanks,
Dave
I remember buying the samsung focus and windows breaking the device to change registry settings. This was the same issue that the Focus had...unfortunately i don't remember the explaination that was given but it was Samsung saying that automatic data configuration, for whatever reason, frequently configured the device wrong or just wouldn't work so they disabled the setting. I think it a BS excuse considering they have the registry entry why would you disable it and why wouldn't it work in the first place....just my 2 cents. But, I don't believe it too much to be a conspiracy theory going on lol.
Flashing ROMs normally does not change the status of the SIM lock, so no for you over at UAE.
Considering the OEM customizations: yes, branded phones run the same software as unbranded devices but there might be settings to allow or disallow certain functionality. Also the Apps loaded by default on a hard reset are different (OEM Apps can be included).
So while the update package to get your 920 and my 920 to the Apollo+/Portico Update most likely will include the same binaries that does not mean that you have the same functionality available (some carriers who only operate on 3G for example removed the possibility to switch their devices into 2G only mode). Internet Connection Sharing was another feature that was disabled on some branded devices although drivers, etc. are deployed onto those devices as well.

Thank you!
most carrier branded wp phones have adc turned off since wp7 days. That is nothing new and certainly expected. typically, you can turn it back on once you sim unlocked your phone and you are lucky enough to find network setup app from the manufacturer,
The network setting app is here!!
As an update to my adventures, I did find the Nokia network setup app... it's called "access point". I tried to do a marketplace search but no results... but a guy over at WPCentral just dropped the marketplace link
I'm apparently too new to post outside links so PM me and I'll get you the link...
I just browsed to the link on my phone and was able to install the app. It add an "access point" item to the setting menu just like the Dev ATT phone they handed out prior to launch
My phone is still locked to Rogers so I have no idea if the app will help me overcome the tethering issues once I get there. on Dec 19th my "30 days on contract" are up so the nasty Rogers people will run out of excuse to deny my unlocking so I'll buy the thing and get as far away from this carrier as I can and hopefully I can get functional Internet Sharing going.
To any Canadian who's lucky to have an unlocked 920 with internet tethering problems... can you confirm this is working?
Thanks.

Wow great news !! Can you confirm a few things for me...
1- Can you confirm you are getting stable and long lasting internet sharing... a lot of people report success but then they write back to report that is stops working...
2- What is your batch number? (mine is 44/2012 it's in the sticker on your box where the IMEI number is )
3- What firmware are you running? (mine is 1232.2109.1242.1001)
4- Did you get the phone unlocked by Rogers or a web site?
Thanks for the feedback! I too want to switch to Telus but with so many users reporting problems with internet sharing, I was getting desperate.

For sjeffrey's sake...
cao0215:did you have to input Telus's APNs, or did the app just pull the data from the SIM card like it's supposed to?
And sjeffrey: please provide your batch number and firmware version so we can document this and try to help you out!

the telus apn i ve already typed into, and i didnt change it. The only thing i open access point, and choose TELUS active, then i got consistent internet sharing, no problem .
Great find! I can confirm this is working on my unlocked Rogers 920 on Bell. I downloaded the app and selected the Bell profile, and changed my apn under cellular to inet.bell.ca. Turned on tethering and worked right away. Thanks again for posting this!
Service: Telus
Unlocked by: Cellunlocker.net
Firmware: .1002
Manufacture week: 46
I had set APN to regular sp.telus.com and set access to point Telus. That didn't work.
Just for the hell of it I switched the manual APN entry to isp.telus.com and switched the access point to Koodoo and back to Telus to force it to refresh.
I was able to turn on tethering but I lost data. So it's basically same behavior as before.
Hopefully I can get tethering to work. I'm jealous some of you are getting it to work and I don't :S

I created this account just to say thank you! This internet sharing issue has been bugging me for weeks. I can confirm it's working on an unlocked rogers Nokia 920 on Wind. I just installed the access point app, deleted the APN I had manually entered, ran the app and selected Wind as my operator and now everything works including internet sharing.
I've got a rooted unlocked s-off AT&T M8. I took the 4.4.4 update, then promptly moved to ARHD 34.0. Didn't realize it at first, but I am no longer able to receive calls while on LTE. (works fine for data, and outgoing calls)
If I force it down to 3g, I'm fine. I also noticed that outgoing calls automatically kick it down to 3g- then learned that LTE calls are not an option yet for AT&T. What I'm trying to figure out is, how was I able to have my stock rom on AT&T in LTE mode and still receive a call?
I've checked all the APN settings and it all is set to recommended parameters on AT&T's website. Is this an Android Revolution HD issue? SIM issue? AT&T issue?
I'm going to have to back out of ARHD if there is no solution here, and that would suck.
thanks.
ARHD 34.0 is Android 5.0 based (software 4.16); not 4.4.4 (software 3.x). You might be experiencing this issue due to firmware mismatch. My advice would be to flash the US Dev Edition RUU or firmware zip to get on the 4.x based firmware, and see if that helps. You can try the Euro 4.16.401 firmware, but my experience the US Dev Edition (4.16.1540) plays better on AT&T (as its designed to work on AT&T's network).
Even with the proper firmware, some folks have also had some random network issues running an "international" based ROM on AT&T's network. Most notably losing Google services while on LTE (possibly due to build.prop differences). So its possible your LTE issue may be related. Not to knock the ROM developers, but devs from Europe and other regions often aren't that familiar with the nuances of AT&T's network.
So if being on the proper firmware still does not resolve the issue, it might be the ROM itself doesn't play well with AT&T in your location.
Thanks Redpoint-
I hadn't considered that and am also shy to using the Dev RUU due to brick risk but will reassess that. (I have to convert my device to GPE to put that on don't I?) I recall some warnings about bricking if I change the ID of my phone and apply the wrong RUU or something- but I'll have to refresh myself on those caveats. Would have been so much simpler if AT&T had just released Lollipop but who knows how long I'd be waiting for that.
Thanks again.

Voice over LTE (VoLTE) not being available yet should not be the cause. VoLTE is not currently available on most carrier worldwide. Its a very new technology, and deployment is still ongoing in most regions. Only a few Asian countries currently have VoLTE.
That being the case, voice calls should be kicking down to 3G. The lack of VoLTE should not prevent you from receiving calls. As mentioned, I believe the issue is either a firmware mismatch, or ROM not playing well on AT&T's network.

No, you don't need to convert to GPE to run Dev Edition RUU. Dev Ed not the same as GPE. Dev Ed is Sense, just without the AT&T branding. The US Dev Edition Lollipop ROM is actually pretty sweet (what I am currently on via RUU).
You won't likely brick the device with RUU unless you run an RUU for the wrong device.
Changing CID is safe as long as you type the command properly.
There is always some tiny risk of a brick if you mess with things s-off, and flashing hboot and radio. But I wouldn't say the risk is any more than installing the OTA (which also replaces hboot and radio) as long as you follow instructions carefully, and do the proper research, and take the proper care while performing the steps.
So thanks redpoint for the advice-
Dev edition RUU installed just fine, and updated my radio and hboot as I had hoped. I go to restore ARHD, and it fails though... even fresh install of ARHD fails with some symlink error. I think after reading up on it that this is due to partition resizing that Dev edition does. So now I can't seem to find a way to get ARHD back on the device. I have no idea what to do to the partitions to restore them to something ARHD can use again if that's the problem, and I can't find anything about it on XDA or elsewhere.
Kind of surprised by this if I'm on the only one hitting the issue... all of the issues. To my knowledge, without a radio update, no AT&T m8 in America with ARHD 34 is going to be receiving incoming calls with LTE enabled. The only way to get a radio update is to use an RUU- of which dev edition is the only one. AT&T/HTC only releasing the 4.4.4 RUU for right now it seems, without the radio and hboot update.
Maybe I've got this all wrong somehow... I can't be the only ARHD m8 AT&T LTE USA user that wants to have incoming calls right? How has anyone else accomplished this?
Stuck with Cyanogenmod for now... slower, less stable than ARHD.

You're still misunderstanding about Dev Edition (DE) versus GPE. Only GPE has different partitioning from Sense. DE is still Sense, and has the same partitioning scheme as the stock AT&T (and other carrier) Sense setup.
Don't know why you are having the issues restoring ARHD nandroid and even flashing ARHD. Wipe cache and try to re-install TWRP or try a different version. Then try a "clean install" (factory reset in TWRP) of ARHD.
Or you might have a case where the DE firmware does not play well with ARHD. You can try the 401 firmware, for which ARHD is based. But this might cause as many issues as it solves, as the US DE firmware usually plays better with AT&T's network than the international firmware. But it might be worth a try.

Since you are s-off, you can flash any carrier's M8 firmware, or flash the radio independently. Although a side note that you should stay away from flashing anything for CDMA (Sprint & VErizon) M8's or dual SIM M8.
If you mean there is no updated LP radio intended for AT&T, aside from the DE RUU that you are currently on; than yes that is correct.
Has this been solved? Im experiencing the same thing. I updated my m8 to the latest at&t lollipop ota. And installed xenon rom. Now i just noticed im not getting any calls. Wife is pissed lol
redpoint had my problem pegged. Just had the wrong rom w/o the radio update I think. I needed to get the developer edition from here. After applying it, I could put ARHD back on and all was good. It's been awhile, but that's how I roughly remember it.

There is no true fix for this, that I know of. Only workaround: turn off LTE in phone settings, or contact AT&T to have HD Voice (what AT&T is calling Voice Over LTE) turned off for your account. The latter is probably the best workaround if you want to continue using non-ATT ROMs; since it allows you to still utilize LTE speeds for data, and HD Voice only works if both parties have devices that support the feature (and many folks don't at this time).

Should i input some apn or something? Revert radio image to an older one? Go back to kitkat?

Just call again, the CS rep probably just didn't know what they were talking about. I think another user mentioned you need to talk to tech support, not the front line CS reps. Turning off HD Voice with AT&T was confirmed by at least 2 other XDA members to work.

i guess third time calling is the charm. the first 2 calls i made, they said they couldnt turn it off, saying it was restricted. but the third person i spoke to made me turn my phone off and when it restarted it worked. i can receive calls now.. he said he turned the hd lte off in his side by putting me back to the settings i had before hd voice was added.
thanks again.
edit:
i was actually looking at this prior to making my third call to at&t. maybe it could help others. worth a try? do it at your own risk...
If for some reason the HD Voice Calling option is disabled or inaccessible on your phone after updating to Android 5.1, then you can try the following steps to fix the issue.
Navigate to Settings > More > Cellular Networks and enable the toggle switch for Enhanced 4G LTE Mode. However, if the toggle is missing then follow the steps provided below:
1.Launch the Dialer app on your phone, and dial *#*#4636#*#*.
2.Choose Phone information.
3.Enable or select VoLTE Provisioned Flag.
4.Restart the phone.
5.Go to Settings " More " Cellular networks and toggle the switch for Enhanced 4G LTE Mode, and the HD Voice calling feature should now be activated on your device running Android 5.1.
i got as far as rebooting my phone but the toggle was still missing.
Was working on Insert Coin 4.4.4, flash to OTA 4.16 5.0.2 works fine then I flashed to latest Insert Coin 7.1.9 5.0.2 I tried the following step suggested on post #13 don't see option #3 after click Choose Phone Info.
By calling AT&T turn off HD Voice you'll sacrifice anything?
First call attempt, att technical rep had me turn off phone, 1min later turn it back on and it's working now! Yay!!!

@simpl3lang @redpoint73 Soo glad I found this thread, this was driving me nuts on my m9 running ARHD. When I called ATT they were able to take care of it and turn it off. I cannot find the setting under the *#4636#*, nor under phone settings in ARHD, Is this a setting that developers forget to include in their ROMS?

The reason you won't find it in settings, is that "HD Voice" (or I forget what the actual toggle is called) is not a feature on non-ATT ROMs. Its an ATT-specific branding of what is more broadly being calling "Voice over LTE" or VoLTE. Further, most (or at least many) carriers worldwide have not started deploying VoLTE yet (or just starting to do so), so that is another reason why you won't see such a toggle in settings on most ROMs.
Even if such a toggle was present, I'm skeptical whether it would resolve the problem being discussed. It seems there is something unique in the way that ATT is deploying VoLTE, that is screwing with "international" based ROMs. So my hunch is that unless the ATT-specific tweaks are applied, you would still have the voice/SMS issue on LTE.

I can confirm that getting AT&T to turn off HD Voice fixed the issue with me. I installed SkyDragon v10. I had to call twice and go through a lot of crap to get them to do it. The last guy told me he was going to put the "opt-out" code on my number, but that wasn't technically supposed to do it. He said he was putting in that I had "requested" to opt-out (I was taking the line that it just stopped working, as I didn't want to have to deal with any fallout about having rooted and flashed my phone, perhaps that wasn't necessary, idk). So, I think you might take the short cut by saying that you want to opt out of HD voice, and that your "Brother-in-law" just did it, so you know it works. If you stick to your guns, and ask for a technical person and don't let them say no to that, you can definitely get it done.
Thanks to all of the participants on this thread I am out of a tight spot and would like to offer up a few more observations that may be helpful to the next person.
I had an LG G3 running CM13 20160504 that became unstable and I had to replace with my wife's old HTC One m8 also running CM13 20160504 (also tried 20160510 and 20160511) which, like the other phones discussed in this thread, did not get incoming calls, in fact calls did not even roll over to my Google Voice number.
Thanks to this thread I tried forcing the phone to 3g, found that I got calls and then got AT&T to turn of VoLTE (aka HD Voice) and now I can get calls while running with LTE data.
Rather than a fire-hose of details I'll just say that it seems that the G3 would get incoming calls on LTE, and I would not get the first ring then it would ring on what the caller perceived as the second ring. Whenever I was on a call I would note that I was running in 3G, after the call it went back to LTE. I assumed that it was a bandwidth issue but now I think in that lag between the callers first ring and my first ring the phone was negotiating down to a 3G connection like an old school high speed modem negotiating a call with a slower modem (anyone remember those days?). It looks like my HTC does not have the ability to negotiate down or that it was been somehow hardwired not to as there is a flag in the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*) marked "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" which has no effect, i.e. I can press it and the is a visible deflection indicating that the phone knows that the button was pressed but the button text does not change to indicate that a toggle has been effected, calls continue to not ring and even rebooting after pressing does not make any difference.
In summary, having AT&T turn off HD Voice has me working fine with the HTC On m8 on CM13 and I am grateful to all of you for the conversation that got me out of that corner.
