[Q] Deleting CMW backups - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Why is it that every time I delete a backup folder in the clockworkmod folder, my phone reboots a lot for a bit until it starts working fine?
I put my phone in USB mass storage then find the folder to delete. Or am I supposed to delete it some other way?

delete the file inside the backup folder(with date and time as id)you should be fine.
I never had any problems.

How do you delete them? I connect my phone to the PC then delete them through the pc.

I delete the backups directly from the phone.
Sent from Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 using Jusada's awsum ICSunday2 + Slaidmod script.
Dont jus say thanks, use d 'THANKS' button. [XDA RULE]

I had the same problem. For that you have 2 option to resolv.
1. Using flashtool, back on stock 2.1 firmware
2. Search and download from here xRecovery-0.3_GBready.zip. Put it on your SD card ( just in SD, not any folder ), and rename with update.zip. After you do all what you have to do, go into recovery mod and before to flash any custom .zip hit Install update.zip from SD Card. xRecovery will flash the update.zip from you SD. After that....that's all . Now you can flash anything you want.
P.S
If you are to lazy to search go to that link http://www.mediafire.com/?pnpvpg3cj4gvf0n
Good luck

Find the right file for your region http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733 ( .ftf file ). Download the file and put in firmware folder from flashtool. Power off your phone.Open flash tool, hit FLASH button, chose the recent downloaded file and click "ok". Keep back button pressed ( back button from your phone ), and connect usb cable. Now flashing should begone. That's all.
But remember!!! All usb drivers, pc companion and sdk have to be installed on your pc, before to make all that process.
Good luck. Waiting for good news.

[Tool] ROM Cooker

==ROM CooKer
I made a simple ROM Cooker in my Free Time, With this tool u can make a Recovery flashable ROM easily.
At this stage, everyone knows about Galaxy 3 system structure, so one can easily add or remove stuffs and make own ROM.
Try it, its only ~555 Kb
This Cooker is only for custome kernel with inbuilt recovery.
Before flashing Coocked ROM made by this cooker, must formate the system partition via recovery.
If u dont formate the system partition then instead of installing a fresh rom this will overwrite your previous ROM
After Flashing, must wipe cache and dalvik-cache directely from recovery
==Update ROM
( This Tool is only for Custome Kernels)
* U can Change File System (G3MOD, Astrum, KyoraKernel, FuguMOD)
* U can Update Theme
* U can Push App/lib
* U can Make factoryfs.rfs of ROM for Odin flash (Make .tar with Total Commander)
* U can Make Recovery Flashable Update.zip
How to use ROM cooker > Follow the onscreen instructions
Thanks to apollo5801 for his awesome zip creater
Lol! Free Time with capital letters :-D
Tnx anyway.

No specific tool requirements, don't know what is the problem, do again, don't delete any file from package.
When I'm trying to make rom
(option 3)
After compressing files, it says,
Everything is ok
'java' is not recognized advanced internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Now what to do?
You have to link you java path in your system settings (Environment Variables, sry dont know how is named on others languages ^^')

[GUIDE]How to extract Stock firmwares from Samsung?

And,comes another guide from me.... I was actually extracting a stock firmware and this came into my mind
Ok,I made this guide since the process of extracting firmware is a bit confusing sometimes.So,lets start with it
What you would need:
1.7zip or any other zip utility
2.Stock Firmware
3.MagicISO
4.Nothing else
Tutorial:
1.Start off by downloading a stock firmware,for this guide,we assume its DDKQ8
2.You will get 2 files, S5830DDKQ8_<bla bla>.tar.md5 and SS_DL.dll
3.Ignore the second file,we only need the first file which has an extension of .md5
4.Now its not possible to extract the file with the current extension.
5.So,rename the file S5830DDKQ8_<bla bla>.tar.md5 to S5830DDKQ8_<bla bla>.tar
6.Now,the file is extractable,so extract it.
7.You will get approx. 9 files: arm11 boot,amss,csc.rfs and various others.
8.Delete all the files except boot.img and system.rfs.These are the only files we need.
9.Now,using MagicISO,open up system.rfs and extract it.
10.Make a new folder named Rom_working
11.Now,move the boot.img there
12.Make a folder called system
13.Move all contents of system.rfs to this this folder.
14.Now all you need is a META-INF folder to complete the rom.(Unless you messed up)
Thats it! Pretty easy huh,this is something really basic,but a few people get confused on extracting it anyway.Its just meant to be a basic guides for those people.If you want to get more info on making a rom,refer this guide which i wrote a few months ago.Hope this helped you guys out.
NOTE: I am not responsible if you mess up your phone or w/e happens to it.Btw,<bla bla> stands for the rest of the filename
thanks for that,, i was woundering how it was done,, i ended up using a nandroid backup with kitchen to make my own lol
How can I root the rom??
