just wondering whats the best launcher for you? I just formatted my phone and i used to use Go launcher EX ..i tried many others like Launcher 7 , Launcher pro , Nemu , and MX ..but still all those is pretty weak compared to EX ..so heres my review / thoughts over those launchers
1. Launcher Pro - it's a good launcher easily , smooth , responsive ,lightweight and stable doesn't have much problems but it feels a little basic for me .
used for about a month or so
2.Nemu -Oddly thou when i first use this launcher what surprises me is the smoothness , its very very smooth and the folders are very unique , the app drawer is also pretty basic but it's beautiful still i hardly use folders so its not my cup of tea
used about 2 days =P
3.Launcher 7 - Beautiful and sexy launcher , looks like a Rom than a launcher , mimics WP 7 nearly perfectly and all looks great , smooth and stable but theres one big problem ...it has very very few to no widgets and adding apps to homescreen is ugly (its very blur ) ..sadly , but if you not into widgets this is perfect for you !
4.MX- feels like a weaker version of ex but well weirdly thou its the launcher i am currently using ..it feels sleek and fast , the app drawer is basic but its also beautiful and most of all it has a clock at the end of the screen ! feels faster then EX tho ...
5.Go launcher EX - IMO the perfect launcher , resizable widgets , touch sensors ( scroll up to launch etc .) , build in task manager , tons of extra and useful widgets , tons of themes and easy to apply , feels natural and good scrollable extra bottom page ..man it's a excellent launcher , it's a little lag sometimes but it's still great ..use it for about 4months changing to MX for something new got a little bored of it =)
conclusion : EX is the best but imma chaging to something new for a change
so whats your opinion of the best launcher?
-SPB shell 3D; stylish,very good UI,but use more ram and the price (i think ) 2 expensive
-netfront life v2 ; this launcher very different in style & UI.
i love it,but not smooth like other..
-HeLauncher2: small size,,only change dock,but smooth,i use this launcher
-panda series.. ; ?
go launcher ex best launcher for me more customisable then any launcher out there

Go Launcher Ex is the best -I tried so many launchers and Go Launcher Ex is customisable and smooth at the same time. Stick with it dude
Strange, go Launcher Ex was the most heavy and with the most terrible themes I ever saw. Using ADW launcher EX.

IMO,
I can never stick with one launcher for a long time. I switch around. Maybe, GOL EX for a week or 2 then Active and maybe LP. And so on....
I just can't stick with a certain launcher! Also, for those users WHO use go launcher, check out my friend "Quinny898". He has a MIUI Theme for GO launcher!

hmm i think i gonna use launcher 7 for a few more days ...it really looks good ..just a question does anyone know how to add folders ?and still does anyone know how to add widgets and apps to screen properly? it really looks odd when i click pin to screen

found something new ...pair froyopro with laucher 7 ..this 2 really goes well together ..unlike the froyopro stock launcherpro which is lagging my phone like crazy the launcher 7 is pretty smooth ...weird ..

I think that adw launcher is very customizable but very laggy and ugly. "GO" is the launcher i used before "pro".

I find Zeam launcher to be almost as fast as LauncherPro which I also like on the x8.
Try it, efficient on memory of both kinds.

Although most will say Launcher Pro, I personally am a fan of ADW more than that. And, I bought EX a few weeks back, and, its far more amazing.
Other alternatives are GO Launcher, Zeam, and the upcoming SPB Shell (Although I dont know whether it will work on the WIldfire or not)

I change launchers like my underwear, just to keep the experiences a little different and also because some go better with certain themes.
Right now I have GO Launcher because I like the themes, the classic them goes well with the UI look I'm after. Maybe later I'll restore my Launcher Pro or the launcher from Sony Ericsson because that had a nice glassy look too.
ADW isn't bad either but I can't buy the themes I would want to I don't bother.
I tried Panda Home too and it wasn't all that bad either.
So for looks, I'd say GO Launcher. For functionality and customisability I would say LauncherPro or ADW.
I like Zeam best, it's really fast! I've still got launcherpro plus though and occasional use it because of the cool widgets it has.
I recently tried Launcher 7, a Windows phone 7 looking launcher. It had some great animations which ran smoothly on the Wildfire. This was great because it was highly customisable which I believe not all Windows phone 7 style launchers can do(?).
A new update for LauncherPro came out today, I'm using the pro version, it just added some widget improvements and a new Gmail widget.

I would vouch for this, i use Zeam a lot of the time however it does not have as much functionality as the other launchers but is extremely fast.
I have adw ex, it used almost 5 minutes to loaded up my 900mb (250apps) apps, but launcher pro plus only use 45seconds to load it, with a lot of widgets, after my phone reboot.

I would use Go Launcher if it supported better our qvga resolution...
Because I think its app drawer is the best for usability, but it looks so bad on the Wildfire screen: I would pay for a modded version.
Anyway I'm using LPro+ which is very fast and smooth.
Yeah, GO Launcher sucks on this screen... But if you hide app names in drawer, it looks good. Anyway, I tried all of launchers people listed and they are great but I'm always going back to Sense.

Can I use themes on launcher pro plus although I don't have root? I'm using adw ex atm coz of the themes and think that the app drawer is cooler.

I tried launcher pro, but always end up using Sense again, mostly because of the widgets, they are just so useful.
Ig you want widgets that look nice buy lancher pro plus then follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783427 to get nice themed one which look 100% better than the standard grey
I recently also downloaded launcher 7.
I ditched ADW for it.
Kinda like the little customizations for launcher 7, bring a newer look from other launchers which basically look the same.
Only downside is, the widgets all look tiny, so I have to live without widgets (which I dont normally use anyways).
GO Launcher in my opinion is the best. It has many functions such as closing running applications.

Hate to say it, but I LOVE Launcher PRO! ADW Launcher is a pretty good 2nd-bet, however Launcher Pro, IMO has much better options!

For you which best launcher for the XT720?
I liked the Sony's Arc Launcher
But currently the best for me is the ADW launcher.
The Go Launcher is great, but in my XT720 always gave problem and restart the cellphone.
I prefer Zeam Launcher. Although it doesn't support scrollable widgets, it is fast, lightweight and stable.

Have tried many, nothing but launcher pro does it for me
I use ADWex bc that is what I used from the start, but I have a LPP backup bc I once got in a home loop and it sucked-big-time. Had to restored via TB in between loops. When I say it sucked, believe me, I'm not lying.
Launcher Pro Plus for sure. Aldo ADW and Go are pretty good too. Depends on personal preference I guess.

LPP is good but you need to purchase Plus version to use Widgets.
Go Launcher EX is the best and it is totally free. with widgets more than LPP. And also totally customizable.
i'm too using GO Launcher EX, very smooth and fast, lots of good FREE themes to choose from
I like try new launchers I'm now useing nemus launcher low memery use fast and the best thing its free.

just trying go launcher and here's my thought:
Go Launcher EX eats much more ram than launcher pro... 24 mb compare to launcher pro only 13 I think. what a pity since Go launcher has a lot of themes and customization, but no option to lower the ram comsumption.
Can we tweak Go launcher to use less ram?
Go Launcher Notification seems to be a good feature at first.. but after lot of FCs and a reboot, I realize that it takes 23-24mb to operate... so i needto turn it off.
so... maybe I go back to LP soon..

I am using Launcher Pro on my GDXv017 ROM, smooth and powerfull.
The best, imho, remains Launcher Pro: highly customizable, theme-able and the smoothest i've tried.
If you like something lightweight, can try Zeam Launcher, I like its scrollable dock and the vertical scrolling in the app drawer (that default home doesn't have), even if it's a minimal launcher.
I tried also Claystone 3D, it seems fine to me, lot of features and I think more suitable (in terms of weight and smoothness) for our phone with respect to SPB.

Personal favourite
I quite like Launcher Pro - lots of icon packs and easy to customise! Can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. Only issue is that it hasn't been updated for a while
If you want custom themes without having to pay for Launcher Pro Plus, then try GoLauncher - not a personal favourite of mine but is again very customisable and does pack in a few unique features.
I used to use Zedge for pure speed, but it was a bit limited customisation-wise and I overclocked my phone, so I didn't need a really fast launcher any more
i tryed many launchers...but Launcher Pro is the best choice for me...so i stick with it a long time now

Yes. I had also tried it. not very good. Instead ended up using Go Launcher Ex with ICS theme.
I just got ADW Launcher EX the other day from the 10c app promotions per day google is doing and i'm loving it so far.. lots of new features compared to the free version
Might be a good idea for people to keep watch incase it goes up for 10c again.. few days left of apps

Yea 360 launcher is awesome. Just never have seen these app drawer animations in any other launcher. very nice and very smooth. And the themes are good looking too
Edit: I just noticed that there is a lockscreen setting in its preferences using which we can have a variety of lockscreens too. And there are lockscreens available for download within the app itself.
This is f**king awesome
Only 3 lockscreens are available. But all 3 are good especially The iPhone lock screen and ics lock screen are looking great

i usually use go launcher ex. its smoother and faster than ADW and Launcher Pro lags sometimes when opening app drawer :/.

i think launcher pro have no side to side scrolling option. it just lists apps in a single page.

i'm using Launcher 7 on CM7 and like it so much, it is simple. and lightweight on Memory. i have removed the ADWLauncher.
Nemus Launcher is fast and lightweight. It uses about the same RAM/CPU as Zeam and has excellent folder organisation. I use Claystone on my HD2 but the Ace is slightly underpowered for it although it still works well.

yup install other one first.. switch to that launcher and then remove adw
you can use many tools to remove... titanium will do the job
