I'm currently running CyanogenMod 7.1.0. I would like to upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
How do I do it?
Thanks!
First off go to the inspire ics thread page. Read don't opean up new threads because of your laziness.

Alright, I think I found the correct section...
I still can't find a download link for the software though?
Or is there like a CM8 (9?) beta download?
Thanks.
Agreed thread closed. There is no CM9 yet. And nothing stable for ICS

any one know if the atrix community will be receiving a possible honey comb for the atrix 1?
Really? Honeycomb is only for tablets dude

No need to be a douchebag, how about help this guy since obviously he got it mixed up with ice cream sandwich which basically is just honeycomb for mobiles.
anyway, for the tc, ics will be released for ATRIX, there just isn't a set date yet.

Where did you see that ICS will be released for the Atrix? I can't seem to find that anywhere.
No one he's assuming. But I kinda assume the same.

If you look at this forum post on the Motorola site and read the answer the forum administrator gave which is a official employee. The outcome does not look good. He did not say no but read it for yourself. You will have to Google Attic Motorola Forum Ice Cream Sandwich. I can't post a link for some reason.

I think you're looking for this: https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/508881#508881
"...
Any additional devices that will be slated to get ICS will be mentioned here: Motorola Android Software Upgrade News in the future. Doesn't mean that Atrix can't make the list. A decision just hasn't been made at this point.

Granted that post was a month ago but I don't think anything has changed.
Well I just hope it happens

The problem with Atrix and ICS...
... as far as I know, is the 'webtop' Laptop Dock accessory.
In order to ensure that ICS is a complete solution for Atrix, Motorola may have to invest time and resources on ensuring that people's webtops will continue to integrate and operate correctly after ICS has been deployed on the hosting handset.
Since they don't have that problem with their other handsets (although, does the new razr work with webtop, guys?), it seems they may decide to shaft everyone with an Atrix by skipping it's ICS upgrade.
There's always something with Motorola.
So if you're in love with the idea of ICS, you might want to consider a different handset.
Also, as noted, Honeycomb is tablet-android. The Atrix is running Gingerbread, the last release for handset-android before ICS.
Hope this helps.
Mind how you go.
Ics is already in development in the custom rom world. Will it get webtop functionality? Unlikely unless cm9 has that capability built in, which seems to be on the backburner for now. You can probably expect a stable build of cm9 (ics) on the atrix in a month or two, I'd guess.

So are most devs waiting for the rezounds ics ota to leak or are some working on porting ics from the sensation leak and or the nexus? I know it will be a while, but was just wondering if anyone knew anything.

I think Dmeadows started on porting the ICS leak from the Sensation but not sure if he is still working on it.
Rezound is scheduled to get the OTA update soon based on what HTC said.

We don't have a kernel to run it. You can port sensation gingerbread for example because we have a gingerbread kernel. I am also not sure how it would work out with the larger screen resolution.
Not that I talk to the devs, but I'm guessing if you want everything to be working, it's best to wait for the manufacturer to release the compatible files/drivers/etc instead of trying to hack things together because it just gets messy and nothing will work that well. I'm guessing once HTC releases the official ICS build you'll see AOSP ports shortly after.
sry have to get 10 replys

There has been more than enough ics threads and more than enough warnings about creating new ics threads. For now the only new ics threads allowed are actual confirmed release dates. Feel glad all I did was close this thread. Please do not create more ics threads, if you want to discuss it use the thread posted above.
It seems though the HTC Rezound is going to be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich very soon. The picture on Verizon Wireless's website shows an HTC Rezound with Sense 3.6, but when I click on the page to view the phone, it shows the phone back with Sense 3.5. This should mean that the update is coming soon.

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) has been out for almost a month on this device, it was released August 1st, and pretty much everyone I know with a Rezound has gotten it already, worked the kinks out, and is generally satisfied with it... if you are stock, have you done a check for updates recently?
Yep, it has been out for a while.
Pretty sure our phone came with Sense 3.6 stock anyways.

The Rezound was officially updated from Gingerbread Sense 3.5 about a month ago to ICS Sense 3.6. The Rezound probably won't ever see Sense 4.0 officially. We have to depend on developers for that at this point.
I have had ice cream sandwich on my htc inspire 4g for a few months now, and i am having major issues with it not want to run smoothly, i dont have very much on my phone, i check for updates regular but it has not had one in over a month now. Im looking for some help on how to fix it so i can have it running smoothly, or to update it to the new jelly bean.
Thanks

What is your problem exactly? By "issues with it not want to run smoothly" i'll assume it's laggy...is this correct? Have you tried doing a factory reset?
yes and yes, and my music app keeps saying its not working

Head over to your device's section and try getting a custom ROM running.
Did the HTC Inspire evn get official ICS?
Sent from my MB508 using xda premium
flash a custom rom
Flash a custom rom like aokp .
Or if that seems too hard to do,
Use a bloatware remover.
It should be there in your device forum

I believe that must be a custom ROM, you're running. Coz there is no official ICS for Stallion.
And its always better to read the Bugs / Changelog and check the thread completely before flashing any ROM.
And oh hey, mind sharing the link of the ICS ROM you're running? Guess I should try it
Cheers!
