Is it possible to do this with android?
I am looking for a system which can make a windows pc remote controle an android phone, just like a bluetooth headset..
I want it to pick up call's as a minimum, but it would be cool if i can dial and make calls from the pc and receive/answer sms..
Does anybody know a program/app that can do this?
Over wifi or bluetooth.. Both can be used..

"Remote Phone Call" by JustRemotePhone
Hello,
We have developed an application which allows to call numbers on Android phones through a PC. The app also allows to pick up calls.
Look for the trail version of "Remote Phone Call" at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=justPhone.remotePhoneTrial or for the full version at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=justPhone.remotePhone
Since we have replaced our traditional office phones by mobile phones, we use our app every day by ourselves in conjunction with a Mono-Overhead-Bluetooth headset.
With the last version we have also a Microsoft Office integration for Outlook, Word and Excel. This integration allows calling of contacts, mail sender and recipients, numbers from editor text and Excel cell contents.
I hope this helps
Thomas.

You can try our new app, VMLite VNC Server, which allows you to control phones and tablets from a PC or from another device:

Controll a call 100% from mac
Hi
I have tried the different apps in this thread. But nothing helps me with my problem.
The setup.
I have my phone at one place (Denmark) and my macbook pro at another (France). so they can not be cabled together and they are not on the same WIFI.
The functions i need.
Make phone call from my macbook
Answer phone call on my macbook
send sms from my macbook
The benefit
I can call my friends at the place where my phone is (Denmark) at normal danish tarifs with my normal danish number but from my computer at the second place (France).
Is google voice an option?

Just discovered this app tonight.. fantastic! With some additional tweaking I've managed to set it up so I can make and receive calls using the onboard speakers and microphone of my laptop. Here's how I did it in case anyone else wants to give it a try:
1. Download Remote Phone Call from the Market - I used the trial version to test this but will be getting the full one based on the results!
2. Install on your phone and laptop (Win 7 x64 in my case)
3. Connect using Bluetooth NOT wireless (in fact disable wireless connectivity in the Remote Phone Call app options on your phone)
4. Pair your phone (Galaxy Note 2 in my case) to your laptop over Bluetooth
5. Goto Control Panel, Devices and Printers.. you should see your phone here if you've paired it right
6. Right-Click it, click Properties, then the Services tab and tick them all. Click Apply
7. Windows will install the drivers it needs but will probably fail on Bluetooth Peripheral Device
Go here and follow the instructions - make sure you get the right version for your machine (32-bit driver / 64-bit driver).
There's also links for AMD CPU versions on the same page (scroll down to the bottom left)
8. Assuming you get the missing driver installed, start Remote Phone Call in Windows and click on the Bluetooth headset icon at the top (choose your laptop name from the list)
That should do it!
One request... if you could add a dialpad to the Windows app (for navigating IVR menus etc) that would make this even better!
Cheers
did you find this?

Hey,
Did you find a solution for this? I want to do the same and that would be amazing. I'm not able to find an app that can do this. I know it should work through a fixed IP of DYNS. The app 'remote phone call' is getting close, but still you can't call from the PC of Mac and also only from the same network.
Would be very nice if you found a sollution. I think this is what a lot of travellers are waiting for
Thanks,
Sven

Do you know what chip it has? and where did you get the driver??
Thx so far... It looks like i am so close to my goal.. If i can make this work then my carpc will be perfect
MyPhoneExplorer
Why don't you guys try MyPhoneExplorer? Its simple, its decent, its lightening fast. Only drawback, you cannot talk on phone via PC. Rest all, it does.
On top of that its FREE!

I know this is an old thread, but I destroyed google search all day long having the same problem.
Android Phone is in country A, I am in country B.
How can I make remote calls through WIFI?
I don't have Windows > only Ubuntu and MacOS with me in country B.
I have adb access to phone in country A, also fixed IP there.
Are there any solutions in 2020? I tried teamviewer but it doesnt route the audio over internet.

Look for some sort of screen mirroring solution, something like https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy with remote adb?

Hello all, I have the xv6800, dcd rom 3.3.4 and activesync and internet sharing setup on Windows just fine. However, I have recently gotten a MAC, and I have not been able to get the internet sharing to work via BT or USB. I can understand BT cause I was never able to get it set up on windows either. I don't mind the USB connection, it's alwasy been more stable and a snap to set up with the ROM. However I can't get it working on the MAC. Is there a driver or app that needs to be installed on the mac side? The only think I remember doing on the WIN side is installing the modem driver.
On Mac, I have installed Missing Sync installed and I have been able to attach and sync my winmo phone without issue, so I know I have connection. but I cannot get the internet sharing to work. I checked out the verizon site and they state that they do not make a modem driver for the mac os.
I should also mention that I have winXP set up on the mac thru VMware, but I have been unsuccessful getting this to work the way my original windows laptop is setup. I dont want to set it up that way anyway if I can avoid it.
I am curious if anyone has this working via USB?? I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I couldn't find anything related and certainly not specific to this ROM.
I did find this, http://www.keithtastic.com/post/3997...-to-sprint-htc, but it states to buy an app called USB Modem program from www.mobile-stream.com. but wouldnt the ISC app on the dcd rom provid the same functionality?
Thanks for any/all help

then just use internet sharing form the phone as normal?
no offense but that didnt help at all. I can connect my phone via BT themac sees it, but all I can do is browse device. I need to set up a connection with my phone to the mac and get online via my phone. I dont careif its bluetooth or not. I have the new macbook btw, if it matters
goon55: Like you, I always used a VM workaround to tether back when I had a Mac. I haven't tried this, but I've heard Syncmate allows Internet Sharing on Mac systems. Good luck!
I have no issues connecting my macbook for my 6800.
After you set it up like the other poster told you to, you should have a phone icon next to the bluetooth icon at the top right of the screen. click the phone icon then "connect bluetooth".

also when setting up the BT relationship, make sure you select the network services (i believe, there are one or two services you can check)...on the phone make sure you start BT and internet sharing (with BT selected) and when you go to the BT menu on the mac, your phone name should be under "devices", expand your phone name and select connect to network.
just trying to clarify a bit.
i had it
i had bt working for a bit and then was disconnected abruptly.
after deleting the profiles of the pairings on both the titan and the mac, it still wont share the connection although the phone will be connected in bt system prefrence pane, (where you select devices).
when it worked, i would select the phone in the device select, and underneath clicking on the gear to a menu option to 'connect to network'
it worked that wayfor 3 mins.
also, when i configure the device, if i set the phone to internet share while the mac is discovering the services, i get two options to select instead of just one:
access the internet
use device as network port.
edit: got it, apple talk active
best software you can use is http://www.wmwifirouter.com/ it works over BT or wifi and uses your phone's regular data access address which means you don't get tethering charges. NOTE I use the free version, and I have tried the tiral and although it does work, my mogul does not seem to like it and has little quirks after I install it (wifi turns on when I reset even if the switch is off, I don't why but its there).
Hi everyone, I've been trying to use my Windows Mobile phone as a modem for the Macbook, but so far I only see people being able to connect via BT. Problem with that for me is that BT drains both my laptop and phone battery quicker, so I'm trying to find a solution to connect via USB instead. Has anyone been able to surf on their Mac using their Windows Mobile phone as a modem via USB cable?
What you want is Mobile Stream USB Modem for Windows. Windows here being Windows Mobile, it works with my Mac.
Once you set it up, your phone is seen as a USB Modem and you dial from the Mac to this port. There is a free trial, take time to test it, read the forums, I had some initial issues to get it work right, but now it is good, I ended up purchasing it.
Tried BT sharing too, but too instable and drops. Tried the WiFi sharing, but eats battery...
Only downside: as you dial the data modem, it will fail if it is already in use (background email checking on your phone...). I have to disconnect the data connection on the phone to be able to dial from the Mac, otherwise it reports Port Busy.
Thanks for the recommendation, will try it out. Any other solutions in the meantime to connect and share the Internet connection from my Windows Mobile phone to Mac via USB?
I had the same problem, and tried everything recommended in the thread - no dice. I ended up just installing WMWifiRouter and that works like a champ.
http://networkjew.com/2009/03/30/tether-windows-mobile-phone-mac/
This is for cingular, but I'm sure this can be attempted no matter what the provider.
I've been looking for a solution as well, and have yet to find one for USB Internet Sharing on a Mac. I currently just use Bluetooth with an external charger on the phone and laptop since it'll eat the battery of both quickly.
Hi all,
Just wondering how to setup wi-fi direct? I've gone into the menu and enabled it, hit scan, but it doesn't find either of my 2 laptops.
Do the laptops have to be wi-fi direct certified as well or is there some sort of configuration I have to do to make them available to the phone?

So I guess both devices must be wi-fi direct certified, because my phone doesn't pickup my laptop at all (which is about 3 years old).
Intel Wifi dashboard
there is a programm called intel wifi dashboard , this program enables wifi direct on laptop and then your laptop will be discovered by GSII
WIFI direct is like a private network between your laptop and your GS2 or just 2 GS2 that enables you to transfer files up to 1 Gb in size in just 2 or 3 mins ( i tried it myself by sending a 730 mb wmv file ) without the need of setting up a wireless network
and obviously it's much more faster and effiecent than bluetooth
Has anyone managed to transfer files between Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and PC using Intel Dashboard?
I can get my Samsung SMART TV to detect my Android Phone

Okay, so I just rooted my phone and flashed a new ROM and it has Wifi-Direct option on it which basically, you just tick to enable and cannot configure. Since my Samsung SMART TV was wifi-Direct certified, I opened the Wifi-Direct Menu and it just detected my phone. It told me that I could either connect by pushing the Wifi-Direct Button on my Device (PBS Way) or by entering the TV-generated PIN on my Device( PIN Way). But I cannot see a "Enter the PIN" Notification pop up on my Android Device. Let me try a Third-Party App and lets see how it goes.

There's an app called Superbeam, that works on android, mac, windows and linux. I use it to transfer files between my Nexus 5, a Galaxy Tab2 and my PC. it works great.
XDA thread: SuperBeam
So, I have a photon and a laptop that supports Bluetooth connections running windows 7. Everything was good with the Bluetooth connection. I could listen to music and use the computer as a speakerphone, but I could not see my files on my photon using my file explorer on my computer. The problem was I needed a driver for the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device." It took some digging for and wide, but I learned out how to do it following a guide written by Rajiv Singh Suwal. His guide follows:
Here's what I did when bluetooth dongles on Windows 7 PCs that I had, didn't work with my iPhone and other headsets:
- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.
- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:
- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.- You'll see 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' under 'Other devices'
- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.
- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".
- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.
- (From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest. )
- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed. ( Click 'YES' in the box )
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message.
Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have used ActiveSync in the past, you would certainly love this package(Windows Mobile Device Center). Actually 'Windows Mobile Device Center' is the successor to ActiveSync. It is designed to synchronize various content including music, video, contacts, calendar events, web browser favorites, and other files between Mobile devices and the Windows operating system.
Things to consider trying if the connection still fails
I'd like to point out something here in case you have tried some trial version of bluetooth software that you can get from online. Some of these trial software ( ie. Bluesoleil ) disable your 'Bluetooth Support Service' ( a core service that is essential to run your bluetooth device in Windows ) when the trial period expires. I have also seen people jumping into conclusion after using trial version that without paying for it their bluetooth device would never work. So make sure 'Bluetooth Support Service' is running and set to 'Automatic'. You can find that service by going to -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services (select it from the list)
For those who get connection failed error :
If your Phone has already been paired with your computer once and you try to pair it with the same computer, but this time you're logged in to a different account, it will most likely reject the connection since the phone would already have the MAC address of that computer stored in its memory.
Remember that when devices pair with each other, they store each other's MAC addresses and treat that address as a unique address for each device.
Remove the paired item from the phone Or Clear all the paired devices from your Phone's list if you don't know which is which and pair it again.

Yeah. I did some searching around and it appears 30-50 kb/s is about all we can get. They claim max speed with BT 2.1 is upto 3 Mb/s, but from my experience playing around with it - it sort of like a weak 3G service download speed. Bummer.
So, I was trying to make my own VPN to bypass my mobile network's blockage on Skype. I'm trying to get my Galaxy S3 connect to my home's PC which is totally fine with Skype.

Following are the steps for configuring Incoming VPN Connection in Windows 7
First go to Control Panel and open Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change adapter settings.
Press Alt+F and select New Incoming connection
Put a check on who you’d like to give access to this computer or you can configure a new account by clicking on Add someone, after that click on Next.
Put a check mark on Through the Internet. Click on Next.
Select the protocols you want to enable for this connection. Click on Allow access.
Make a note of the Computer name as this will be used by the client to connect to this computer and after that Click on Close.

I have to say, I highly advise against using any of the desktop-based Windows OS for a VPN server. The reason being is that although some functionality for providing an incoming VPN service may be there, it is by no means widely supported and where it is found, can be flakey and unstable at the best of times. Server-based operating systems, like Windows Server 2003, feature a very solid server base (hence the name) and as a result, have much more support and stability when it comes to hosting services used by clients. Further to the point of an actual VPN server, they are very difficult to get working properly and even more difficult to maintain, even on a server-based OS. I know running a server-based OS isn't something that everyone can (or wants) to do, so if you need to use a VPN service for whatever reason I suggest taking a look here: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/7-completely-free-vpn-services-protect-privacy/ or if you wish to shell out a few pounds here: http://www.zeropaid.com/news/94826/top-5-free-vpn-services/ Anyway, that's just my opinion (although one I have developed from a professional background and having endured trials much like you are now) so on to the problem you face...
You say you have setup a VPN incoming connection, via a Windows 7 wizard. I encourage you to check this link out, and go over the motions it describes to see if there are any intermediate steps the guide you followed may have missed.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/210562/how_to_set_up_vpn_in_windows_7.html
After you have done this, please follow the following link to see the ports that are needed to be opened between you and the outside world. This will either have to be done at a) your firewall if you have one (could be software, ie Windows 7 Firewall, or hardware) or b) your router.
http://www.speedguide.net/faq_in_q.php?qid=163
I am unsure whether Windows 7 as a VPN server uses PPTP or L2TP for its service. However, I will hazard a guess and say PPTP, as L2TP I have only ever seen used on Unix-based system. Therefore you will need to open (or forward) ports 1723 and port 47 to your Windows 7 PC. As there are many different makes and models of home router I cannot give you specific instructions on how to do this, but a Google string such as "<your router name here> port forwarding" will no doubt give you guides on how to do this. My money is on something like your router/firewall just blocking VPN traffic, as the ports are not currently forwarded properly.
I hope this helps - let me know how it goes.
Hi all,
Just bought my Nokia 8 the other day. Got it for AUD$499! from Harvey Norman - who was out of stock - but price matched by JB Hi-fi.
I was using a Samsung Note 4, which was doggone slow. Might be resetting that one and putting it up for sale - any potential takers?
My Note 4 used SideSync, which connected to by PC via USB cable. Sidesynced allowed me to see and control my Note4 on my PC. I can do everything on the phone from my PC - I liked sending texts and SMS for example.
There doesn't appear to be an equivalent for the Nokia 8. I have seen alot of mirroring apps that require screen casting, but none which allows connection via USB.
The question - what is the equivalent out there to SideSync (which is only compatible with Samsung phones. I've tried it and it does not work). I've enabled USB debugging. The Nokia 8 says SideSync keeps closing. I can see the phone from my PC as it's connected by USB - so I can see the files on the phone from my PC - but cannot see the phone's screen or do anything to the phone.
Thanks all.
Hi,
You could try AirDroid if you know, which it gives you the option to control the phone and send texts and many other things. The only thing which i don't know if it suits you, is that it syncs through the wifi network... You connect the phone to your wifi network, and from your pc you go to a link that the app gives you and scan the QR code and thats it...
Try it maybe it will do the job for you.

Thank you for responding. I really want a USB connection to the PC as going over the air through my companies WiFi I am sure will slow things down. I have looked at Apowermirror and they want you to pay to use it and it's UI is a bit clunky. There's also Wondershare Go, but there doesn't seem to be an app on the playstore for screen mirroring, though I did do this with my Note 4.
MyPhoneExplorer
Hello, give a try to My Phone Explorer. It's free and very straight forward I think. I used it without issues.
If you Google it you'll find a link from fjsoft, that's the right one.
Good luck.
Hello, i use Vyzor to cast the screen of my N8 on my PC by using the usb connection.
The application can be used as free but if you need some quality you will need the paid version.
