I have what feels like sort of a stupid question.
I know our devices came with the TouchWiz launcher and that can be changed. The Galaxy Nexus is supposed to free of brands and just running Android from what I understand. So what launcher does the Galaxy Nexus run and is there a way to get that on ours?
Sorry if I'm way off on this.

The Galaxy Nexus is vanilla Android, so it just uses the stock ICS launcher that Google designed it to be. I don't know if there's any other way to phrase it.
If you want somewhat of a clone, you could try the ICS Launcher by Team Syndicate, although it's been known to be buggy...

So there really isn't a way to get the sgs2 to an "Android" launcher? We're kinda stuck going through TouchWiz?

Any launcher from the market would suffice. Like adw launcher, or launcher pro

That's not what I meant. It's hard to explain. More of as a stock option.

Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
well you can use nova launcher to get the ics launcher and i think rom toolbox pro will let you change things like battery icons. I did a quick google search and didnt really find any ics themes but i didnt look very hard
Do you have a link to nova launcher i think that one is only for those who are already on Ice cream sandwich

Not really. It's similar-looking, but not "just like".
I have ICS on my Nexus S sitting right next to ICS Launcher on my Photon. Appearance is similar between the two launchers, but functionality is different. There are some features of the ICS launcher that are just not going to work in Gingerbread no matter how much theming you do. The biggest obvious difference is the lack of the Google search bar on every screen. Another is the lack of the Widgets tab (in ICS Launcher there is a tab, but clicking on it opens a typical "add widget" dialog).
Hello, I am running CM9 on my tablet and am in love with trebuchet. Are there Anny launchers like trebuchet or themes like it? Or can I flash trebuchet on 2.3.6? Thanks!
Sent from my HP TouchPad CM9
It's an app... Try it. The worst that can happen is it doesn't work, and in which case...uninstall it.
I wanted to know if I needed to flash ics first.
Sent from my Galaxy Note on At&t
Again.... It's just a launcher. Try it on gingerbread. It won't cause your phone to spontaneously combust.

Can't find this launcher on Google play. Where would I find it
Sent from the only phone designed by Chuck Norris
Search xda for it. Or Google. You need to be rooted. It's a .apk file

Best you're going to find is GO Launcher with the ice cream sandwich theme. It's pretty close to trebuchet.
So what launcher you guys using. I'm trying to figure out which is a good one.

Just want it so bad... How did you managed to have it? Ah maybe you just trollin' since you have it on an other phone?
For my part I'm on stock sense I find it's really not bad compared to LG or Motorola stock launchers. I still prefer the aosp one mostly because it's open source. I Love open source.

I don't troll, lol. I just gave my opinion that I like that one, . There was one of the guys/girls testing AOSP files on sense, they pulled them from the AOSP roms for the sensation, most seemed to work fine, so you could probably grab the AOSP launcher from that and give it a try, should work since I doubt it's name rosie.

+1 for apex. used to use go launcher but found apex to be more minimalistic, smoother, and simpler.
Usually ICS stock... Works well enough, but still a battery hog.
Tried Apex, but didn't see a huge diffrence fron Go Launcher. I go back and forth, but usually stick with Sense.

Apex Launcher is amazing. I was using Go Launcher forever, but Apex is faster, smoother, and lighter.

Out if all the launchers I've tried on this phone and previous phones. My favorite was ADW EX. Since owning the Amaze I can't steer away from Sense. I like the widgets and things. I know its just personal preference but everytime I use other launchers I can't set up my screens like I do with Sense. Once we have AOSP or any CM then I will probably change it up. But until then I'm sticking with Sense

+1 for Apex - it's smooth, fast, light, and just snappy. I also like that I can hide programs in the drawer if I can't disable them...

hi i was wondering is there a tw launcher for cyanogen mod 9 on the sgs 2 ?
You wanna ruin the pure AOSP look with touchwiz? second such person I've seen... anyways, search Google for touwizuix for cm/AOSP, and there is a touchwiz launcher (the one ported from sgs3) for you. I'll link it if I find it.

We got so addicted to twlauncher can't live without it
I have always just used Apex launcher. In wanting the Kit Kat theme, I decided I would give it Nova another go. I have tried it on my GS 3 and Nexus and never noticed a difference. However, my GS 4 was laggy on Apex, so again, I gave Nova another try. It's a world of difference, Nova has no lag for me. It's shocking that the launcher made that big a difference, but it did for my phone. I know Apex has since updated their launcher, however, sticking with Nova now. I am rooted on MK2 with some debloat. Swiping between screens and just going to the App drawer is now lag free. Something so simple has made the phone feel much more responsive.
No problem with apex here on HD12 and safestrap. No response issues to speak of

Google experience launcher for me. Can't say why but I just can't stop using it.

I've been on Nova launcher from the start. Have apex and go launcher a shot but they don't compare to the flexibility of Nova launcher prime.

Just switched from long time use of Nova to Action Launcher, have to say it is a refreshing change and I really like the unique features like swipe icon to show widget. Can't say one is better than the other I used Nova for so long and loved it, it has more options and is pretty smooth but Action Launcher is very useful and offers quick access to apps and widgets.
