ive noticed that the evo 3d supports HID when i connected my bluetooth keyboard and mouse to my phone last night.
I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can confirm if a bluetooth gamepad, such as the MSI BGP100 will work on the Evo 3D.
Also, does anyone know of a bluetooth controller that has the same type of buttons as a playstation 1 controller that also works with the Evo 3D?
it does support HID!? YES!!! I was holding off checking because I didn't want it to sour the whole experience!!! HAHA YES!

I can confirm that the Freedom Bluetooth Keyboard works - it's a folding keyboard that you can fit in a big pocket. Also - I used the HID option on the Freedom keyboard and connected absolutely painlessly. I was also able to connect a ThinkOutside bluetooth mouse without needing any drivers.
I also own the MSI BGP100 gamepad. I can get the Evo 3D to see it as a "GAMEPAD" and I can pair them, but can't get it to "connect". No matter what I do - I see "Paired but not Connected".
If anyone has any ideas or drivers I could try - I'd be happy to report back.
Edit: I just downloaded the "bluez" gamepad driver from the market - and I'll report back on it later tonight when I get home from work.
I can now confirm that the MSI bluetooth gamepad works a treat with the bluez IME drivers you can download off of the market for free. The drivers will work for the most common bluetooth gamepads available for phones it seems.
The process is not so clear. First you pair as I stated above, just using the regular phone's bluetooth settings. Using the touchscreen keyboard, I typed 0000 to connect to my MSI gamepad.
After that, I opened up "settings" "Language and Keyboard, enabled bluez ime. Then I went into bluez IME settings on the same page. I activated bluetooth. Selected the "gamepad" I had most recently paired to. I selected the proper device driver ie "MSI Chainpus BGP 100". I selected IME, specifically ticking on the Bluez IME keyboard. This disables the touchscreen keyboard by the way. Then I configured keymapping for each of the gamepad's buttons - matching them to a standard keyboard.
After that, I went into the emulator (in this case GENSOID) - went into settings, other settings and enabled "use input method". Finaly I went into "Input Settings" and changed the key mappings for each of the emulator's buttons. At this point, the inputs should be responding to the bluetooth device's keypresses - that's how you know you've succeeded.
So far - I'm very impressed. I'd only used this bluetooth gamepad with my HTC Touch Pro (Windows Mobile 6.1). With these drivers I notice next to no lag. I played about a half hour and got no disconnections either - the signal seems strong - unlike my experience with the Touch Pro back in the day. I haven't played extensively - but it did get me through two levels of "Altered Beast" and one level of "Golden Axe".

try the phonejoy gamepad
http://www.phonejoy.net/index.html
Sweet im getting one ASAP.
If it supports HID, which it sounds like it does then the Phonejoy will work - heres my demo with the HTC Sensation (forward to 3:30):
More info here including stuff on the new Phonejoy version with analog sticks!
Has someone tested the Wiimote with the 3D. I have one laying around somewhere and I'd rather not buy a new controller if I don't have to.
I could not get wiimote to work. I read somewhere it has something to do with the new bluetooth 3.0 not being compatible or something. In any even it would not work for me.
It's not BT 3.0, its HTC's non-stock BT stack that is the problem.
Wiimote doesnt work, however I.done remember where but someone was saying that other bluetooth gamepads have worked on the e3d!! Ill try to look and see if I can find it again

The one in my video on the first page of this thread will work with the Evo 3D, as will the iControlPad and Zeemote (Zeemote doesn't have enough buttons to be particularly useful however).
I have done some research and found that the only Bluetooth controller that works with the Evo 3d is the Gamestop wireless Bluetooth gamepad for tablets. I have been trying to get a hold of one but they're always in short supply or the only way you can get one is to buy a tablet and they give you a free gamepad with your purchase.

The Wiimote definitely works, but only on an AOSP gingerbread rom, like CM7. I have a backup of cm7 and everytime I want to play a game with a gamepad, I switch to that rom and connect. Works everytime. Been doing this since I had the OG evo.
Also, using a Sony Dualshock controller, the one that Sony makes, not a knock off, and using the app sixaxispairtool works flawlessly on an AOSP rom. I used to use the wiimote and the classic controller but it was just too much. Two controllers and a wire (wii) compared to just a wireless ps3 controller, the ps3 way is just easier.

BT KeyBoard as Game Controller?
I have a GearHead KT-1282 BT Keyboard... On the 3vo running ICS Stock-Rooted, it Pairs & Connects fine, as does my Logitech RCQ142 BT Mouse. I've been trying to get the BT KB to function as a Game Controller while I play Mass Effect: Infiltrator... I Need HELP...
I've gotten BluezIME, Game Keyboard, & Sixaxis Controller from the play store, and have been screwin with the configurations of each of these for a while...
Using Game Keyboard as default IME, I've gotten the KB Keys mapped to certain GamePad buttons, enabled "Perform touchscreen action with physical key", etc... and that, nor any other attempt has yielded any results within the game...
Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks in advance...
I'm trying to use the Rezound like a mobile pc (eg. being able to output to a monitor, connect a portable BT keyboard, and BT mouse functionality). Then I can use it anywhere to take notes, browse, or do work via teamviewer or Logmein like a desktop.
I have the MHL>HDMI out to my monitor, looks awesome.
I have my portable stowawy BT keyboard (from my PDA days) paired to the Rezound using KeyPro app.
Both good so far... haven't fully tested the all the setup on the KeyPro app; but all the letters and numbers work for quick typing on the BT keyboard.
Paired/connected the Dell BT travel mouse with the rezound; but no mouse pointer...
This is my only drawback.
Is there an app that will get the BT mouse to function like a mouse (eg. with the mouse pointer) on the rezound?
If I get it to work, then I don't need to carry my notebook... generally, I can use the MHL>HDMI out (works), BT keyboard (works), and BT mouse (currently paired/connected but not working correctly).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I'm on Ineffabilis v1.0 GB Rom and dbs9938 kernel if that's relevant.
I believe your problem is that anything below honeycomb doesn't include a pointer/cursor because it's a phone OS, not a tablet OS. To get a cursor you'd most likely need to flash an ICS rom in order to get a cursor.

I guess you're right, either ICS or CM which isn't available at the moment for rezound. Was hoping an app or mod as i have seen lower OS with CM have this feature. Thanks.

There is ICS for the rezound... I have been on it for almost a month.
So have I. Nils is very stable.
I seen a few posts where people have managed to sync their ps3 controller with the six axis controller app. For the live of me I tried a few builds of Android and none of them allow me to sync the controller to bluetooth. At this point for those who got it to work or use it frequently, what version of your rom are you using? Do you know any app that allows you to change bluetooth mac address on the android device or Touchpad Rom? Let me know because I have troubleshooting steps that I need to try that require me to change the bluetooth mac address on the hp touchpad but all the instructions I have found have not helped me because the folder structure described is not consistent with what is in my folder. I thank you ahead all of you ahead of time because I value your help, and I apologize if I have missed something during my extensive research.
HP TOUCHPAD
version of android: update-cm-10.1-20131121-SNAPSHOT-BLUETOOTH-tenderloin 4.2.2
Bluetooth turns on and it works just fine with this version.
The PS3 controller doesnt connect to Android by itself. This is the only way I have done it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=en
The problem is that I have done everything in the instructions, downloaded the pairing app, and change the mac per what the app shows in android. I already installed and downloaded the app but it won't pair regardless. I seen a few resolutions to changing the hp touchpad address to the bluetooth address used in motion joy.
If it has worked for you and is still working for you in the hp touchpad let me know what rom you are using to try and see if its rom related. I am using an original ps3 controller that syncs to motion joy with no issues, and has synced before just fine. I used the pairing tool to load the mac address of the hp touchpad into the ps3 controller and it doesn't pair with the hp touchpad. I managed to pair other devices through bluetooth. If anyone can help I'll appreciated it.

I'm not using a ROM with Bluetooth right now. But it should work if bluetooth is working for you. Did you switch the input method to sixaxis controller instead of the keyboard?

I'm also at the same point as you in my efforts to pair a PS3 controller to my Touchpad. I only just got my own OTG cable so I was hoping with only a little effort I could get it working. At this point it's a bit frustrating; like you I've apparently changed the MAC address to the same as the Touchpad but the Sixaxis utility just keeps on "listening for devices" and the controller just blinks.
I am not using the latest build though.. it's actually 4 months old now, but I did install it because I thought the Bluetooth worked: 10.1-20130808-EXPERIMENTAL-tenderloin-BLUETOOTH_TEST
I probably should update my ROM.
I posted about this a while back. GL

Audio hardware works, but keyboard devices do not. We have to wait for it....a while, I think.
I'm tempted to see if it will pair with my iCade, but if it doesn't with the keyboard my guess is output devices work but input does not. And I don't wanna do the partition expansion and flashing until we get bt in full.

I paired CM11(Milaq) to win7-64bit, NokiaC7 phone and NokiaLumia800 phones. Bluetooth pairing was fine but sending or receiving files does not work. Devices are recognized but nothing is moving around. Must use cloud storages between devices for time being.
Build 02-10-14...can pair/connect my HP wireless keyboard, Logitech BT keyboard as well as Plantronics headset and send/receive files via BT.

Belkin F3U047 10/100 Ethernet Adapter working - working (Had to boot into recovery and then reboot before it works. If I unplug Nexus Player and reboot, it stops working until I boot into recovery and reboot again)
Nyko Playpad Pro - Working in G Play games that I have from store etc.. but not so great in some emulators yet (still working on it)
diNova Mini Bluetooth keyboard - Cannot get it connected
Logitech K400 Bluetooth Keyboard - No connection also

Nope. Just pulled the receiver out of my PC and connected it to the Player with an OTG adapter. Works through an OTG hub as well.

My dumbass.... Had wrong dongle.
Found correct one and K400 works.
Sweet! I'm going to use the K700, which came with the Logitech Revue (Google TV). We kept using and were really happy with the Revue, to honest. But it died about a week for the NP went on sale. Timing was perfect, but we balked when it first went on sale, and then it was taken off the market for a few days. I bought a Unifying adapter, and configured the K700 on my PC, and it works great. I also tested it on my Oneplus One over OTG, and it's fantastic. Love that the home and back keys work, and the touchpad.
I've tested a Rii RT-MWK02 Mini Wireless Keyboard and it seems to work fine via Bluetooth - http://www.amazon.com/Rii-RT-MWK02-Wireless-Keyboard-Pointer/dp/B00BVZZG0C
I haven't done extensive testing but it does work.
MOGA Pro controller works. Tested with Modern Combat

Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Bluetooth Mouse --- Working Kind of
Found that once it was connected if I activated voice search and then jumped out to the home screen while it was still connected, it would keep the mouse connected... otherwise I would just receive the same error.

paired the keyboard and it works nicely. installed xmbc through google browser using this keyboard and built in mouse...
K700 Keyboard
K700 Logitech keyboard, that came with the Revue works. I got a cheap Unifying dongle for it, configured/pair them on my PC. And plugged it to a hub via OTG, and it works pretty great. Things like the volume/mute and some Function buttons don't work. But for typing and the D-pad and touchpad/mouse works great.
Installed ES Filemanager, and it can read a USB Flash Drive, and sideload apps from it.
I'm really happy with this so far.
