Does anyone know about an app for a tablet that makes the lock screen look like the screen is wrapped like a present. I'm giving a htc tab as a gift and wanna leave it under the tree like that. Any help for some last min christmas ideas plz. thank you in advance.
Just wrap it in real paper

There isn't an app like the tablets in the commercials for them? Ill check that one ur talking about. I'll end up wrapping it if I find nothing, but I was hoping for something a little different and special.
Anything????
Just find a pic of the overhead Beowulf and set as wallpaper and take everything off that screen and neversleep

Hi guys
On my SGS2 when the touch buttons are lite part of the light seeps through the gap of the hard button. Does anyone else have this?
I can only see it when it's pretty dark but its very annoying.
I don't have this :s

Yeah, I have it too, but it's not too bad and only visible from certain angles and in a dark room.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Yeah I sometimes have itbut almost rarely, and like the other guy said only from certain angles when I'm looking for it. I put pressure on the button in that direction and it disappears usually

Ive got this very slightly on the right hand side. I also notice when im reading a web page with a black background the very bottom left has a white spot/pixel, it goes away when you start scrolling. Anyone else got the same problem?

Glad im not the only one who has this. Worth returning over?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Personally It doesn't bother me, its hard to notice and even when I can see it, its really tiny. So to me not a problem

Im guessing you have Optus stock as well?
When you look at the touch button straight on can you see the light?
Mine has the same issue but i dont care.
I can only see it when I'm using the phone when it's completely dark
My wife has a mole but shes still beautiful, can we not get a little obsessed with perfection with our phones? It is after all the slimmest, lightest, dual core power house smart phone out there....forgive its quirks?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
My phone did this at first but it went away after a couple weeks as the home button got better seated through use. Definitely not worth returning over.
same here, right hand side!
this was the reason for me to switch off the button lights in settings. looks better anyway
It has to be pretty dark...
didnt realise you could turn the light off

send it back, complain to samsung, demand they redesign the handset!
erm...
This will make it heavier and bulkier!!!
Happens to mine and there is NO PROBLEM with it. Be happy!

And more expensive. All these perfectly good handsets getting returned for new ones have to be paid for somehow.
I switched mine off looks so much better, per sonly I wish it was all black like the nexus s, i think that looks so sexy
Have it too, but dont matter !! I am a perfectionist too ( 620 euros it is for a phone !! ) but i think... i mean ... returning it for this????
If it is same as anyone elses in here its BARELY visible and you should try to find it again.. enjoy your phone. ( there are great chances of getting a same unit back, cause its a design thing i think )
Hey,
have it as well. But I don't really mind.

Miss Diva
Hey guys,
I dropped my phone the other day from 50cm on wooden floor (i have tpu case on it) and noticed that the screen is now a little bit up from the body right at the bottom right and I have now light leak from the back bitton ((
Screen is sticking out like 0.5mm
nothing major I guess, but was wondering if someone has taken their baby apart and knows if this is easily fixable? I guess it's just the glue, doesnt stick to the screen anymore, but not sure
Any suggestions appreciated, thanks )
Pic is bad quality sry

Can you take a close up photo. Someone might be able to help or suggest if they have a better idea.

With a case on you'd never know it.
Maybe somethings just popped and needs reseating?
Maybe there's a YouTube video somewhere?
Sorry can't help any further. Best of luck.

Crazy idea but might as well turn off the backlight buttons under settings. That should help to ease your eye strain from that light leak

Like the title suggest, post your ideas and uses for the SPen, TouchWiz and non-TouchWiz alike. I've watched all the tutorials but I sense that this community has come up with other stuff... I'll start it off...
I took a screen out of Google maps and circled a specific point with a sign stating to meet me there.

Is it possible to port iPhones statusbar?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It´s possible to create a similar looking statusbar, but you should care of what you asking for The android community is like "What you bought a S3 and now want a IOS theme? Burn!"
What? You bought an S3 and now you want iPhone status bar?! Burn!
awsome but still dont make it
Hahahah not the theme just a statusbar... that turns into navy blue when going into an app an kinda transparnt and has little rounded corners

i prefer pears though
You'd rather be assimilated by a pear lol. Still, I can only think of the iPhone notifications app that pops messages and other alerts on the screen like an iPhone. Nothing that changes the statusbar comes to mind tho
I was looking for somewhat like that but i just installed centerclock and 75% transparent statusbar its better now

theme app
I have seen some app (maybe go launcher?) that gives you the whole iphone layout. Maybe it was just the lock screen.
Go buy iPhone then
If not what the point you buy s3 or android phone

Point for the OP may have been that the S3 is a much cooler phone and more powerful also. Oh, and the whole screen is bigger thing also. And then there is the whole Android is great and is capable of being customized to the hill. And can even be made to mimic whole or in part IOS. Fact of the matter here is that we all here love different thesis/looks for our devices. And if some of you might not have guessed, IOS has a theme of its own. And, some in here like that theme. Do I no. But that does not matter. All that matters is that the OP gets to what they came for as well as every one else here. So, on that note, Yeah!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Honestly there's features on iPhone that I think are fantastic - that said, I'm still an Android fanatic. I'm not sure though why everyone's giving the OP a hard time.
To answer the question though, it's possible, but highly unlikely since we'd be working with closed-sourced software. There's no way to port the iPhone's status bar without an enormous amount of work. That said, you can still theme the status bar to similar likings. If Rompnit got my post in the Morphology section, you'll find additional signal bar icons that are based off the iPhone's.
For an iPhone style you just have to flash a MIUI ROM and install a iPhone theme.

You can try paranoid android. It changes color depending upon the app you launch

Yeah.. Miui rom is as close as it gets to an iPhone.

hey all, so ill most likely be driving down to the SGS4 event (as long as my boss lets me take the day off work lol). so I figured I'd ask my home section here on xda what you guys want me to find out. most tech sites will prolly cover the main stuff, hw specs and all that. I mean ill get all that stuff too, but ask me about stuff they prolly won't check.
@supercurio you want me to check any sound stuff? <- lol someone pass that along
anyways ill make a list, and update it on here on what all you guys care about me checking out. i figure if I get the list started now I can do whatever necessary prepwork.
List:
LED lumen rating

Could you sneak a drop test in to see if they improved gorilla glass strength?
what audio chip it has.

nothing
Think better to stay with S3 till next release maybe S5
There is no special specs till now (in rumors) in S4 that that let me change my S3

Bring Odin with you or his mate with the big hammer .

If it's possible could you look for ink spots if using AMOLED or colour tints? Possible black crush test would be handy too.
Not sure if this is at all possible at such an event but would be cool to know
Battery matters, would you check how long you can watch videos from YouTube on 4G with max brightness please? Cheers
