I asked this over in the general android section with no luck, so thought I might try posting here even though it's not specific to my device. Does anyone know of an mp4 player that will allow you to both zoom and thrn pan around the screen? I use mx player, which has a nice pinch zoom, but the view is centered only...no panning around.

Has anyone figured out how to insert Pictures into the Wallpaper gallery, because it seems thats the only way to set good quality wallpapers without all the cropping, zooming and bad quality of wallpapers set from the Picture Gallery. I searched all over the place and the solution mention, to installa differend Laucher, doesn't seem like the real solution.
Anyone?
Looking for a slideshow app to use on my CM7/22. The stock gallery slideshow gets to the end and stops, looking for it to loop. Searching the market now, but would appreciate suggestions.
My absolute favorite app to view images and slideshows would be QuickPic, it's updated regularly and has many features. For example he recently added Nook support for better thumbnails, before that the thumbs would look kinda pixelated.
For a no-frills simple slideshow app that uses local images and just works, I really like this one: Slideshow Bob
It lets you select individual directories on the fly, as well as the ability to process subdirectories, and it does support looping of images as well.

QuickPic is great! It's fast and works for setting wallpaper too! No more wallpaper set & save for me!
As a photographer and an Android geek with a Nook, I used QuickPic and the Gallery.
The Gallery that is with Android and CM7 was made by Cool Iris, they have a fantastic algorithm for resizing images that are not to the Nooks scale. I use cool iris code on my web site too. The Gallery is also the fastest of all the ones I have tried, others just take way too long to paginate and resize pixel definition. But the Gallery does not have a looping slide show. Personally when I am showing pictures I like to flip and wait for the viewer to see and take it in, so I do not use the slide sow on its own. If I did need a looping slideshow I would use QuickPic, once even lager pictures are in memory, it’s all good.
Hop this helps!
JustPictures. has the slideshow, loops when it gets to the end, supports external image sources like Flickr and Picasa and others, and is written by a very involved developer who takes customer suggestions.
Try Slideshow HD

I meant exactly the video recording and playback
So now it is certain that no one can at least keep to a minimum zooming when recording Full HD ??????
Hi all,
I'm testing what video conversion settings might be good for our Mini. So far, if I use 640-320, it either doesn't fill the screen, or if it does, the people in the video look squashed...
Anyone been testing?
i actually never convert any video since most of the video format simply plays on the phone. what player do you use? i use mxvideo player, the problem when you're converting is, its squeeze the whole frame to fit into inappropriate ratio that's why everything looked squashed.
mxvideo player gives you the zoom option, and you can choose the one that fit you best(might crop the video a bit)
WOW
I just found the BEST settings! I've tried this with my ipod classic so many times and never got it perfect...but for the Mini! Try this!!
I use Format Factory. Handbrake is also good. In format factory, I found the iphone (no idea which version, doesn't say) has the same resolution) though I searched for many devices. I selected that then edited it a tiny bit:
MPEG4(DivX)
480x320
bitrate 576 (or similar)
FPS Default
Aspect Ratio Fully Expand
Sample Rate 44100
Bitrate Default
I've been testing conversion of a 2 minute trailer, you don't want to test on a full film etc. because if it doesn't work out you will waste 1-2 hours every time it's a bad conversion... I've done about 6 tests on a film trailer and this format is absolutely perfect...the entire video is on screen, nothing is squashed, the audio is so crisp and clear...wow! Time to convert en-masse!!
p.s. I have disabled auto-brightness. I highly recommend anyone wishing to convert films etc. to do that...the screen is WAY to dark without disabling auto-brightness.
Try a trailer or other short video on the above settings and see for yourself...
have yu try a full movie & whats tha outcome?
i used xilisoft video coverter 6 ..
the setting i set to Android MP4 profile ..
change the size to 720x480 with high quality

I have tried this with one of my favourite films and I'm delighted with the progress!

Hi, is there a way to play YouTube videos on full-screen including notch? If you pinch in, the video is resized only that notch is black, I want it resized to 'true' full-screen including notch. It would be quite nice for 21:9 videos. Thanks for answers.
YouTube Fullscreen
Yes, hold two fingers on the screen and zoom in then
=)
