[Q] touchwiz/ verizon help

i just bought a verizon galaxy tab 10.1 because i was gonna use 4g when i meeded it. basically i will call verizon and set up a month of 4g. but as of right now it is only wifi. how would i be able to update to touchwiz when it comes out on verizon if i dont have 4g and is there a way to do it on a verizon tab trough wifi.
thanks
You need to connect to a network with internet access. Something like a home wireless network or Starbucks. Do you have a wireless router at home to connect to?
i am connected to a wifi signal but the verizon galaxy tab 10.1 doesnt have the samsung account sync thing so i cant get the update over wifi. and when they release it over 4g i wont be able to get it that way because i dont have a data plan set up.

To truely answer this you're going to have to wait with the rest of us for Verizon to put out the touch whiz update. They haven't even announced it. I'm in NYC and tried the Samsung "update event", but I was told that it was available for the WiFi only models and we would have to wait for Verizon to release the update. Don't know for sure if your LTE radio will need to be active to receive the update whenever it does finally come, but keep in mind that it is through the LTE radio that the device communicates with Verizon's servers...
Dang that really is a dilemma you got... Unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to update via wifi since it's a Verizon model. The carriers have control of firmware updates and usually they're distributed OTA through the carrier networks. There's no official word on anything yet so don't be too concerned though. Either way, I'm sure that after it's released someone on xda will be able to provide it for the public.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab

[Q] Gingerbread on T-mobile Vibrant

I know they released Gingerbread for the Vibrant on other carriers like Bell, but from what I see on the t-mobile site, the t-mobile vibrant never got the update.
What I'm wondering is did anyone get a mostly stock rom working based on the bell update or another update? I don't own a vibrant my roommate does and he asked me to find out since I flash roms to my phones frequently, so I haven't kept up on vibrant development.
He is not really savy with phones and wants to keep the phone working as is, you know with touchwiz as the phone shipped, so cynogenmod is out.
Which is what I'd do if it was my phone.
The bell vibrant isn't even close to the t959 vibrant. It's more like the international galaxy s. There are like 2 or 3 ported gb roms from other phones though, and then there is CM7 and miui.

[Q] But why?

Here's the problem I'm having, wasn't able to find any other answers on here via searching here or other sites.
I'm unable to actually 'pair' via bluetooth my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 (16gb wifi only) with my samsung galaxy s2 (att version) . Now each device recognizes one another, but they don't actually connect. I can go through the motions and hit accept whatever code, but then I get nothing. Try to force it to connect, nothing.
I actually tried to pair an 8.9 tab with an S2 in the att store via bluetooth. I would say that I was able to replicate it (i.e. it still didn't work), but given all the other devices and the extended range I wouldn't call it a successful recreation.
Why don't they pair? Is any one else able to get their s2 and tab 10.1 to pair? Maybe it's just an att thing? Tech support figured it was a defect in my phone and it just needed a hard reset. I decided to do the test before wiping everything and starting fresh.
PLEASE HELP!
so it seems I'm not the only one with this issue (not sure if good or bad thing)
Found this thread on another site: http://www.mygalaxytab.net/samsung-...etecting-and-pairing-problem/msg5751/#msg5751
The most interesting part of that was this, "I was told that Samsung will not push this as an update."
So are we just stuck then? I'm not too happy about that.
I called samsung and they have no knowledge of this issue with my particular devices. I didn't realize that other devices had basically stopped working: http://www.galaxytabforums.net/foru...luetooth-other-devices-galaxy-tab-10-1-a.html
Any one out there having luck pairing their tab and phone via bluetooth to transfer files and whatnot?

i have tried pairing GTab 10.1 with SG2 with no issue. first try to identify which device has issue GTab or SG2. try to connect your GTab with any other bluetooth mobile.
I had never tried before, but just paired my GTab 10.1 wifi only with my GS2 International model. Paired just fine and was able to send a photo from my phone to the tab.
Have paired my Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Galaxy y without any problems. Transferring files etc. I am using basically the micro sd card of my Galaxy y as an external storage for the tab.
Using stock 3.1 in tab and rooted 2.3.5 in Galaxy y
thanks for the feedback guys.
I'll pairing with my boss's epic in a bit, but for kmaq: what s2 do you have? If att version, is it the stock rom?
I'm wondering if this is AT&T's doing rather than the devices themselves.
I'm also going to stop by an AT&T store later with my tab to test my phone/tab with their phone/tabs.
EDIT: If I take my tab to an ATT store and can't pair it with a new/different s2, but the tab can successfully pair with another phone then for sure it's a software issue? What would be my next move if that's the case?
UPDATE:
Tried pairing my tab with a bunch of other devices to try and rule out my phone, and now I'm not sure if my results are helpful or not.
So this list is what I paired with my tab and results.
samsung epic 4g (sprint) - NO
samsung galaxy s2 (att in-store working unit) - NO
Motorola atrix 2 (att) - YES
Motorola Droid Razr (verizon) - YES
LG phoenix? (att) - NO
HTC Inspire (att) - NO
Summary, my tablet can pair AND connect via bluetooth with motorola phones. Which explains why it would pair with my friend's droid x in the past.
So what does this mean? Should I factory reset my tablet to try the bluetooth fix?* If that doesn't work, then am I going to have to send it in for repairs/evaluation?
Please let me know what you guys think, because I'm going to call samsung tech support tomorrow and see what they say.
*EDIT: the hard reset did nothing, and samsung tech support filed a claim for 'tier 2' support.
can anyone help?
