hi,
i have opened a new thread for knowing the difference between these 3 versions
ics2/ speed blur / ics final
because jusada hasn't provided proper change logs and difference between these 3 versions so i will request him to provide it soon here or in his thread, so that members can choose better version.
i have opened this because i don't have enough posts to comment in android development zone.
Not jusada, but I'll try to explain:
ICS2 = second release of his Ice Cream Sunday, famous for its demigodly speed and being barebones.
ICS(2) Final = a bugfix release from his original ICS2 with additional tweaks and scripts. Still barebones.
Speed Blur = a ROM by jusada based on his own ICS2, but more feature-full. Although not as notoriously fast like ICS2, still fast enough to make shart.

actually mate i am already using ur ics2 but now i want to go to final version but as u posted it has 2 version with tweaks and without so i wanted to now difference between these so that i choose better version as it very tiring to flash roms again and again.
i always want fresh custom roms on my ace so what do before trying new custom roms that.
1 i install base os from odin (DDKQ6) in my stock rom.
2. i install cmw5
3 i install fresh custom rom.
so now i have ics2 and i want to have fresh install from ics final, so should i upgrade directly to final version or follow the steps above then install fresh rom ?
u have 2 versions of final i wanted to know i brief which version to choose whether with tweaks or without.

That's quite contradictory...
Anyway:
I haven't tested the final version of ICS2, but I believe the differences are self explanatory (and are also explained in the ICS post):
The "tweaks" version includes tweaks and the "no tweaks" version doesn't. According to him, the "no tweaks" version is more stable.

You're dyslexic, but able to create the fastest ROM for our Ace! That's an awesome feat, IMO.

tiring because of backup and restore thing and fresh i meant that i don't want any trace of stock rom means not a single file from old rom that new rom can run well.
and about tweaks i wanted to know what are those tweaks and how will be unstable like system crash, restart, not responding etc etc. and how often unstable at what kind of use.

According to the post, it says it uses GadgetCheck's V8. The post for that should be in the first page of SGA android devel.
And it also uses Slaid's build.prop tweaks. You can check that out at the SlaidMod post, also in SGA Android Devel.
Sorry I can't link; I'm at my phone.

Hey guys. I am kinda overwhelmed by the number of ROMs and kernals around. I saw modems too but dunno what they are. Heres my info:
Baseband:I9100DDKE4
Kernal: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555 [email protected] #2
Hope thats alls needed. I wanna try our MIUI. But I saw stuff like bluetooth isnt working there. I dont wanna lose any functionality. Is CyanogenMod my best bet? Are there any other good stable mods I should check out? And whats a good Kernal? Which wont affect battery performance.
Thanks for your time if you reply.

1. Modems are the drivers for the mobile connections if you flash a newer one it can improve your network speed but it really depends were you live etc so it different for every person.
2. If you're a beginner with flashing I wouldn't start with any AOSP ROMs like Cyanogen or MIUI.
3. I would recommend Villain ROM for the beginning. It's clean and basic and it comes with Nimphetamine Kernel. Also the guys there are really nice and like to help if you have some problems.
Hello there OP!
If you want a completely different Android experience, go for the CyanogenMod 7.1 release candidate. Bluetooth and other important stuffs are working, read the thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297557
If you want a very stable ROM with bloatware removed, I recommend you Cognition 1.5.1. The developer only uses official firmware releases, not leaks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124396
Though before you do all these you do need to have your phone rooted first!

Thanks you everyone. I was just being lazy. Chose Lite'ning Rom and SiyahKernal2.0. Both should play well right? Will I need to recong. all apps?
Loads of roms available but I'd recommend a rom based of 2.3.5 improvements are better than earlier releases.
Then you can choose from the various kernels and modems to customise.
Once you get the hang of flashing and such you can try out others like cm7, which itself works pretty good now and offers a complete aosp experience.
Touchwiz roms are polished though and work very well. By going to CM7 and such you will lose some stock functionalities such as the good camera app, better stock email, and other bits and bobs.

battery friendly and really fast!!
no lag in SPB Shell 3D launcher and other apps. also revolution rom is really customised!

GingerMod 0.6. Based on 2.3.5.
Fast. Using Siyah kernel with it. Amazing battery life, amazing benchmark scores.

Sir, you can change wallpaper by long tapping on home sceen, a menu will pop up , select wallpapers or gallery based on where your desired wallpaper is. I didn't get the colour stuff? If you mean that you want to change the ROM's colour then you cannot do that through a wallpaer, you need to download a theme which has the desired colors and apply the theme via Theme Manager
And yes, you can also change the wallpaper via settings menu

Sir, please cool down, it's ok. We need to give time to new people/members to adapt to XDA. I am not going against you sir, you are elder to me so whatever you say is right. But, XDA is all about helping each other, if someone is in trouble and doesnt know how to go about, then we shouldnt mind

Hi,
I tried almost all ROMs in the development pages but I like the best ICS final with SlainModFast v2.5 with the new kernel(blackhawk - ketut). I had no reboots, no freezes no problems. I also run the JuiceDefender on balanced and improves the battery life. And I like the ADW launcher that is included in the ROM.(tried GO, Launcher Pro and some others).
I am a big fan of Grif's CM7 and Ketut's oc kernel... those guys deserves monies!

maybe an option is to update to Android 2.3.6 stock rom, but i think same sh** no vpn support compiled in...
Need a 2.6.35.7 Kernel with additional vpn support nothing more like overclocking etc. Which kernel are you recommended and how do i update only the kernel via odin, too???

I got my Galaxy ace a half year ago .. and I tested nearly every rom / mod & theme .
but I am quite searching for a rom that has the best performance, the best speed and it should be very stable - without lags. It don't need to be themed - it can look like a stock rom.
Thx for your help xda-team ♥
Choose stock....like me, i know there will be more comment after me saying custom is better (of coz, they made it)
But until now no custom rom is stable...
I use stock wxks6 then convert to ext4, plus...cf-root kernel and lagfreeV2 script....all working well.
Owh, and now using miui launcher...cool

ICS Final hands down. After flashing some other roms and looking around, this rom is by far the most stable and fastest I've tried. Never had any problems with the rom and I've been using it ever since the Final version came out. The only problems I've had are with random apps and such, never with the rom itself. Got a champion right there ;D
Highly recommend it.

I like also learning and competition.
So, I propose to revive Hacre's kernel with some Siyah enhancements.
This kernel will be compatible to AOSP ROM and with tools like Voltage control.
I added from 2.1.3 Ninphetamine's version (2.6.35.11 based).
I would like to propose few governors (conservative is my favorite) and many frequences (100-200-350-500-648-800-1000-1200-1400-1600) with the possibility to change them through /data/customboot script (or all others into /etc/init.d/).

bgn9000,
Do you think you can follow Gokhanmoral's lead and release an i777 (at&t version) compatible version of this kernel? I like trying different kernels (currently on Siyah 2.6.12), but our i777 model doesn't get much love (we only have Enropy's and Gokhanmoral's). Please consider making an i777 version and good luck with the project!
i just install it very smooth no problem all works fine no just test the battery life i will give my return in a few day
Good job mate!
Hope we will solve the aosp boot soon
Good luck, seems promising. Voodoo Louder support?

It seams that this is all about Adreno optimization.
Since we use Mali GPU, this is not relevant.
The rest is only well known "build.prop" tweaks that can increase overall performances a little bit but not much.
It will definitely not give a taste of "Project Butter".
By the way if you want to test something new on your device that can give even more juice, give this a try

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but this is not an actual rendition of Project Butter ;P Its a collection of tweaks which will definitely improve performance on stock and all, given a branding no different than The Geeky Engine or Thunderbolt Script
On stock, you'll most probably see improvements, but for some custom roms which already include some of the tweaks, it might cause issues.. For safety purposes, ask your rom's Developer if its ok to flash on his rom first Anyway its not a bad script though so Thx for the share, bro
