Wifi and sound problem - TouchPad General

Hello,
I have two big problems with my hp touched running with alpha 3.
1. If I hear music and the touchpad going into the sleep modus, and than I can hear only random noises and not the music.
2. I try to get a Wifi connection tethering from my Motorola ATRIX but he scan but not connected.
If I connect my touchpad with my parents Wifi, than I don't have problems.
What can I do to fix these two problems?

The screen off static is a known bug
And the spotty wifi is also a know bug
There are a few temp fixes posted in the cm7 thread and in the general . Q/A section
No need to post a thread if its known issues
Search first
I suggest you reread the thread and uninstall cm7 until its more stable

2.1 Rom Bluetooth simple secure pairing (SSP)

Hey all,
I have been using my Eris with a bluetooth Stereo for a quite a while, but when I rooted the phone over to a 2.1 ROM it started using Simple Secure Pairing (SSP) when authenticating the bluetooth headphones. My car stereo doesn't support this (its brand new too...).
So, the question is has anyone ever looked into disabling SSP and forcing it to use the old static key method of pairing in 2.1?
I am not adverse to diving in and doing the dev work, I just wanted to make sure someone hasn't already done it. If I do need to dive in does anyone know if its possible to disable it via a config file, or will I need to backport the bluez stack?
Thanks for all the great work,
traetox
I too am having this issue. Worked fine in 1.5 but ever since root it will play audio through pioneer head unit but phone won't connect. I will patiently await a fix.

Oh, so that's what's up.
I'm having a similar problem with my Jabra Cruiser bluetooth speakerphone/FM transmitter. What mine does, though, is it will connect and I can use it to listen to music and do the normal speakerphone functions like it normally would, but none of the media buttons will work anymore. It's not a huge inconvenience, since I mount my phone in the car anyway (long commute). It's only a problem if I need to have Google Navigation in the foreground but still want to change songs.
Patiently waiting. You devs are awesome, if you don't get enough sycophantic slobbering already.
ok, so I did some digging on mine and it turns out that I can pair with a simple bluetooth headset via the '0000' key. But the phone attempts to go through the full key negotiation to connect the "bluetooth headphones." So i can get audio via the headset negotiated connection, but it sounds awful without full AD2P.
I am getting a ROM kitchen setup and will try and map the 1.5 bluez stack onto the 2.1 source and see where that gets me.
Thanks for the input.
Thanks for working on this! I've tried to incorporate some of the Bluetooth files as well as the WLAN.ko from other roms into my Rom but have been unsuccesful. I am running damage control 2.08 that I ported. I was originally unable to get WiFi or Bluetooth to work until I copied the WLAN.ko from the oc patch now both work minus the phone. Don't know if this helps but figured i let you know. If you have those files from a 1.5 Rom I will try them in my port and let you know what the results are.

I have a Jabra Crusier, and I'm having an issue with a lot of ROMs where I can not connect to it and stream music over bluetooth. I have found that Aloysius v6 Maps rom by Spencer Moore works well with the bluetooth thing. You may have to connect and disconnect a few times here and there to get it to connect, but it's been the best ROM for it. I used V11 Maps and it worked for a little while, but stopped connecting properly just recently.
There are a few known bugs with v6, but I'm fiddling with V11 to try and get the bluetooth to stay perm. Once I get it, I'll let Spencer Moore know and get him any new updates I come across.
Just an update. I am able to pair and connect to phone using white widow Rom.

Bluetooth "change" from N1 to T-Bolt?

I had a N1 previously and it used to pair with my Uconnect in my SRT without any problems. Now this Tbolt pairs and then promptly disconnects and will not re-establish the connection ever again.
Is this a different Bluetooth version then the N1? Anyone else having issues with the TBolt connecting AND maintaining a connection with any of their B.T. equipment?
Any suggestions on what I should try differently?
Have you installed any battery control apps that might be shutting off your bt?

I noticed mine won't auto connect to my kenwood unit in my car. BT-200 module. I can force it manually, but it should auto connect...my X used to w/o a problem.
The T-Bolt connects to my Jabra headset fine. I haven't installed any power mgmt apps that would be shutting off the BT.
It connects to my UConnect System in my Mopar and stays connected for 10 seconds and the disconnects itself. I can shut off the car , reboot the phone and turn on the car, turn on the phone and it will re-connect again for another 10 seconds and disconnect itself.
I have Uconnect also but no issues. Did you clear your old N1 from Uconnect? Not that that should matter but don't know what else to offer...

I have a Lubix NC1. Pairs with TBolt and works fine, but when the display shuts off, so does the Bluetooth. Phone connection stays and I can manually restart the Bluetooth, then same thing happens. Any ideas? Thanks.
Yea, I deleted the N1 from there. Might be something going on with the ROM, as that is the only option I have left that I can guess at?

ICS, Bluetooth and Deep Sleep issues

ICS Bluetooth on i777 SGS2 is acting up on my stock Subaru handsfree radio.
This may be because the Subaru radio is flakey, I don't know. The bluetooth connection is stable and reliable with GB roms and a Nokia Symbian phone.
My observations are based on 1.3, 2.0, and 2.1 4.0.3 roms from Shoman94, and 4.04 AOKP from task650. Kernel and Modem changes seem to make no difference on this issue.
The biggest issue for me is that the bluetooth connection to the car stereo will drop when the "deep sleep" mode is entered. The connection starts again if the phone is awakened.
The connection will stay connected if bluetooth is active with music or other operations.
The connection will drop during a long phone call or the phone is not being used.
I have read of problems with other ICS devices having issues during "deep sleep",
SOD's and reboots mostly.
Others have tried to prevent these issues, by using SetCPU profiles with freq. changes, limited success.
One App that has helped is SoftLocker. Designed for Tablets with deep sleep issues, it allows me to block deep sleep. Blocking deep sleep allows my phone to stay connected to the car stereo via bluetooth for handsfree operation. It will chew up the battery like this, but I can charge in the car.
Yep. Happens to me too. ICS ShoStock 1.3 and 2.1.
I'm on 2.1 and my Chrysler sound system has had no issues. My previous phone had shostock2 v. 1 - 2 on it and no issues as described either.

I use AOKP and my Bluetooth has no issues with either of my vehicles.
And yes this is the wrong thread... it is for devs. You should be in general or q/a

No issues with connecting to my car with SHOstock2 ROMs.
I have an occasional disconnect with my GS2 and my Explorer with myfordtouch/sync. I don't think it's happened sync I switched to AOKP compared to Sho2, however.
I don't really pay much attention to it.
never had this issue. so i see the that the OP has the issue. where is the DEVELOPMENT thats going on to fix this issue then? This is the DEVELOPMENT thread after all. this should be in general bro.
Zero issues with ShoStock2 v2.1 or aokp on my alpine kce400bt in my 94 Silverado or any issues with any bluetooth device at all...
HTH,
Charlie
Both my pioneer head unit, stereo headphones, headset, and Nissan factory system have no disconnects when in deep sleep. Both my sgs2's.

This sounds like the same issue reported in another thread here a few months back. I had the same problem as the OP of that thread, where the BT would disconnect after a few minutes (10 maybe) of no phone activity other then playing a song. I used a dedicated BT speaker which would function correctly when paired with a PC, but auto disconnect from the phone. Although everyone here seems to be dismissive, it is an issue that other users have encountered as well. I'm using UnNamed 1.3x and haven't found a solution (but have reduced my dependence on BT).

Yeah. This is real.
I started getting the issue once I switched from GB to ICS ShoStock2.
The car is an Audi A6 2007. If I connect the car speaker to the phone via Bluetooth and my conversation lasts for more than five minutes or so, the Bluetooth connection is severed.
It doesn't end the call, so I can pick the phone up, turn on the screen and the Bluetooth reestablishes connection. But the conversation is interrupted.
Again, this didn't happen before and is easy to reproduce.
This problem is likely in the bluez stack. From GB to ICS there were quite a few changes. One of them has just left behind some of our hardware. Since most people don't have trouble, this probably won't get fixed.
One more observation,
When charging in the car, the Bluetooth stays connected. This seems to be because deep sleep does not occur while connected to the charger.

Do you keep your BT on constantly? A thought that just occcured would be to use Tasker to switch the CPU profile to one without sleep when BT on and revert back on BT off. That on charge find could be pretty useful as well.

Thanks, I do run bluetooth continuously and Tasker may provide a way to workaround this. I'll update if I figure it out.

I have the exact same issue in my Audi A8 and A6.. will try Tasker and the charge-trick.
I am still using SoftLocker to disable deep sleep, or using the charge cable in the car.
The trick with Tasker is to figure out a way to lock out deep sleep.
Here is what I'm testing today,
To use Tasker, the plugin for Tasker, Secure Settings, and the Helper app.
After installing Tasker and Secure Settings apps, run Secure Settings. On the "Settings" tab, under "Helper", tap the option to install Helper. This will install Helper, and require su permissions.
In Tasker, I added a profile for BT connect to car, with a Secure Settings/Helper task for CPU awake only, Manual ON.
Next, added another profile to Tasker, BT connect, checked Invert (Should activate on BT disconnect from car), added Secure Settings/Helper task for CPU wake only, Manual OFF.
I'll post later if this works as I intend.
The method above using Tasker works. My phone is not entering deep sleep while connected via BT to my car stereo handsfree system. When the BT disconnects, my phone is entering deep sleep.
Tasker has a trial version if you download it directly from the developers website. This may also be purchased directly from him, and may save a little over the Market version.
Have to love when problems and solutions come together like this!

[Q] Wifi and Bluetooth issues

Hi guys,
So I just picked up my Galaxy S3 on an Optus contract. I noticed if I am in a call with my Bluetooth headset while my wifi is on and my wifi will constantly disconnect. It wont disconnect if I am not in a call but as soon as i go into a call with the Bluetooth my wifi goes crazy.
Does anyone else have these issues?
Edit: I am on the latest software update and I have tried turning off the power saving mode and resetting the phone. None of which has worked.
Does anyone have any advice?

This has not fixed it for me. I have even flashed custom roms and still having the same issue. I am not back on my stock rom and thinking about returning for warranty.
Yeah I have the same issue, bluetooth can be on and not connected with no problem, but once connected to something the the wifi will drop randomly.
There seems to be no pattern sometimes it will drop in a few seconds to 30mins very random.
Old topic, but I've found that if Bluetooth is working hard then the wi-fi throughput drops to almost nothing and also keeps droppping the connection.
I found this when streaming with Apt-X from online services such as Spotify, Rdio and Napster (I've tried them all). I've also streamed from my NAS over wi-fi.
To confirm this I've run the SpeedTest app when streaming Apt-X and when not. With no streaming I get excellent speeds, when streaming (from an mp3 stored on the phone) the test either fails due to a failed connection or it hobbles along and gives very poor results.
I suspect the same aerial is being used for both wi-fi and Bluetooth.
I'm using 2.4GHz wi-fi; it's possible that 5GHz wi-fi may not have this issue.

[Q] S3 Bluetooth not Auto connecting

I have the following problem with my S3. Most of the times I use my phone with Bluetooth. Since before rooting my device I had the same issue.
I get normal Bluetooth connection with my phone everything works great but when the phone and Bluetooth is disconnected they do not connect automatically. for example when the Bluetooth disconnects from my hands free due to distance when I get back close they don’t pair again.
At moment I am using:
Sotmax v14
Yank555 latest kernel
Baseband: XXELLA
I had the same issue with all stock Roms. When I used CM10.1 the Bluetooth worked as it should without any issue. In general all 4.2.1 roms work ok and the phone auto connects almost instantly.
I have tried many Hands frees (Plantronics, Samsung, and many others) the same thing happens every time.
I am also using an app Auto Bluetooth which is very useful for reserving battery when using Bluetooth hands free. Basically what the app does for those who do not know, it turns Bluetooth automatically on up on receiving a call and off when the call is ended. In my case when the Bluetooth is turned on it does not connect automatically with the phone
So my question is simple.. has anyone solved the problem?
I apologize for my poor English but I did my best. I also searched the forum but I did not find anything related.
