I use the Titan radio around town, but it seems a bit too static-ey. I keep getting this static noise on almost every radio channel. Does anyone have this same problem that most radio channels keep going bad ?
Also, can it just possible be my own earbuds problem since the Titan uses built in radio through your headphones for the signal? Possibly I have crappy earbuds or something idk please answer!
I got my Titan 4 days ago and tried the Radio and had the same results as you. So this could be an issue. The Radio was never a selling point for ne, my HD2 had a similar problem. Has anyone else the same experiences?
Yeah see? I don't know why it does that, is it the crappy built in radio in the phone ITSELF? or is it my earbuds :?

Hi Guys,
I thought I would let you know of a harmless yet very annoying bug on the O2 Network. If you are currently running Radio Shack version 4.21.00 you may find yourself receiving dozens of blank SMS messages. AS I did… 47 to be over the weekend to be precise.
I called O2 on Sunday and there is some kind of intermittent problem with the Radio Shack version and reporting to the network. The phone is paged with an SMS by O2 to see if a voice mail can be delivered or the phone is on. This SMS should not be seen. However it is.
O2 said replying with the word ‘stop’ should stop it however this will not work as the number does not exist, it is the message centre.
I finally got O2 to fix the problem by calling them (that only took 2 hours  ). O2 are currently looking to release a new version of the software to resolve this. They also mentioned a slight problem with Signal too. O2 said that they were going to call me today or tomorrow with more information about this.
If anyone else has had this problem or similar can you let me know :?: .
Gil.

Dear,
I also have upgraded my radio stack from v4.20 to v4.21. It works pretty well so far (anyway, I am in Thailand). I think there is nothing wrong with the upgrade, your local operator might be responsible for this
Regards
I would say only upgrade the radio shack if you are doing so to resolve a specific issue or bug.
The problem with blank messages is just annoying and as long as you keep your phone off/on silent over night it is not a problem. Since I spoke to O2 I have only got one blank message.
I upgraded as I had problems with signal strength. BTW, this is still not resolved
If you have a reason to upgrade then do so…
Gil…
Hi there,
I have been trying to get tomtom to work on my xda 1, I have upgraded to wm2003se to do this & upgraded to several different radio stacks in the hope of getting better signal on the phone & now it seems i am unable to get any signal at all, anyone have any suggestions on how to get it working again?
I did get the tomtom software working though
Thanks
110 views & no clues :'(
anyone even got a silly suggestion?
No radio signal at all ?
Did everything got very very slow as well ?
this happened on mine after a ROM upgrade : I kept the ROM but downgraded the Radio ROM.
It worked and radio was back. No problem using tomtom navigator 5.21
Sylvain
Some fuc.... ROMs may set the Radio to 900/1900 MHz networks. Try setting it manaully to 900/1800 in the bootloader. Maybe this helps you.

BT has discontinued the Movio service due to poor takeup and handset choice, as well as the unwillingness from networks other than Virgin UK to use DAB as their mobile TV standard.
So the quick question is- does this mean the the Virgin Lobster DAB service will stop?
Well, Virgin have confirmed that their DAB-IP service stops next year, so I've answered my own question!

Hi, my G4 was originally from spain Vodafone, it was SIM unlocked, I believe with lokywiz, it accept any SIM but the GRPS signal is very low, some times it give me the "No Service" message, sometimes it keeps searching for an anthena.
I upgraded the spanish ROM to Touch Xb by Gullum, without problem, and radio to 2.19.21, but no avail
One thing is that the product number is 99HBE086-00 A
Compared with my original Qtek S200 G3 wicht is 99HBE043-00 T01
Both machinnes had the same OS ROM and same Radio ROM, however G3 signal is very good, 1 bar less than a regular Motorola, while the G4 is looking for signal almost all the time.
I used to have a T-Mobile Wallaby, with a very similar problem.
Somebody can help me?
u can find a new radio rom in wiki.it's ver 2.69
Fixed
It was a hardware problem, one circuit track that connect the anntena was loose, also the internal battery was dead (and a little bit rusty), and the speaker was cover with some cotton or something, otherwise it didn't work, similar cutted cikuit track in the speaker.
I fixed all those problems, my G4 now performs just like my G3.
First off, I bought this phone online from a guy in Mississippi, but I live in the East Texas area...The radio stack was 1.54.07 when I started with it. I SIM/CID unlocked it fine, but it downgraded the radio to 1.16.00. I reflashed the radio to 1.54.07 as it was before, but has a issue...all calls have static in the background. Not terribly bad, but very annoying.
Anyone have any idea what radio stack would be best for my area?
Thanks,
GunRunner
Not a definitive answer to that im afraid, try out a few different radios and see how you get on. Do make sure your device has HardSPL installed and that you dont interrupt the flashing process.
Well...I re-flashed it to 1.54.00.10, and so far, it looks good...no static in the background...and no loss of signal strength...
GunRunner
Sweet.. Now you've found a radio you like, STICK WITH IT... The radio rom is the most likely thing to cause a permanent brick when flashing. If it is interrupted while flashing this then you tend to get a corrupted area of memory that CAN'T BE FIXED. You can flash an OS only rom but you won't be able to call or receive calls on your Hermes ever again....
Welcome, and have fun....
Cheers...
