Hi Devs and Noobs,
I had gone through various posts on the same title. But looks like my problem is different from theirs.
I had recently purchased my SGH -I777. With stock ROM, I faced a mystic behavior.
I had set the password. Then I had locked the device. I hit the power button to unlock. But now, I am not typing the password. And wait for the screen to go off. Then I again hit the power button. And now the device allows me to login without the need of a password. I guess this should be a security bug (or) I had screwed some settings somewhere.
I had tried using Pattern, PIN and password. But the results are the same.
I had flashed with Serendepity ROM. And Still the issue was there. Still stuck with the same bug.
Please let me know if anybody else faced the same problem or not. And how you had corrected that..
That's a known issue with the AT&T version. I'm running unnamed 2.1.1 without a problem. The changelog lists it as fixed since the 1.3.1 release.

Actually I am running unamed 2.1.1 but I did notice the same issue. I had a pattern lock and, sometimes, I get non-lock lock screen, which you can just move the screen to unlock.
EDIT: My bad. This is a feature.
Is your lockscreen timer set on instant?

Is this the option you were talking? This has been set to 15 Sec. And There was one more option Touchkey Light Duration which is set to 6 Sec.

I guess with this I need to live with, FOR NOW. I will try to use some other lock screen apps or by some means to overcome this. I will post if I find one.

News FLASH...
The new OTA from AT&T fixes this issue and a few others... STOCK ROM equals Gingerbread 2.3.4... But if you goto phone settings software update and download install the new version, Gingerbread 2.3.6, this issue will then go the way of the dinosaurs!

Unnamed is supposed to have the same version as ota update. That is what I am trying to point out.

I have my screen set to lock 2 minutes after it automatically darkens and it's working perfectly for me.

And a note : I am using Serendepity8.2. Kernel : 2.6.35.7 Android Version : 2.3.4 (I am afraid, If I update this, I will not be able to use my Flash counter reset USB jig) Modem: I777UCKK6.
If I update my android version t0 2.3.6, will I be still able to use the USB jig to reset the flash counter?

I am a regular visitor to this forum, and for the first time I have registered and in need of help. I am having an issue with the Samsung i727 just bought used on the internet.
It has kernel: 3.08
Baseband: I727UCLF6
Android Version: 4.0.4
Build Number IMM76D.UCLF6
My problem is that each time I touch the power/lock button, it does not take me to the home screen. It takes me to the Security Page. This also happens if I am surfing the web, sending or reading a message, even on a phone call! Everything else is working normally.
It is so annoying, can anyone help?

First off, you designated this post as a question... So it should probably be in the Q&A forum, not General.
Second, to address your real question, are you on a stock firmware, or a custom ROM? "ICS 4.0.3" doesn't really reveal that information. It sounds like you're on a non-standard DPI setting. You could have changed that manually if you're rooted, or some custom ROMs have non-standard DPI set by default.

So... you're completely stock? I just loaded the game and it's fine on my phone. I'm on a (mostly) stock Gingerbread I9100. I doubt a completely stock ICS I9100 would have resolution issues.
What information does it say if you go to Settings > About phone?

Huh. If you're completely stock, non-rooted, and don't even know what DPI means, then I'm not sure why it's an issue for you. Sorry I wasn't of more help.
Though you may want to consider changing the title of your post; "ICS problem" is way too general for your particular issue. Could help bring more eyes to your post and hopefully someone who knows what the problem is.

I can't post in the Lisbon thread yet so I'm posting here hoping someone could help!
I'm using this ROM for few hours and I'm already in love! But when I try to use a Google Reader post I only see a white screen I can see the posts list and they turns read or unread but I'm not able to read anything!
The installation was clear [wiped everything]...
Any advice to how to solve this? I use gReader a lot!

I believe that the white screen is a known issue with a number of apps on Lisbon. I myself have experienced the white screen you describe w/ my email and Facebook apps. The developer is aware of the white screen issue but is on holiday for 6 weeks. I believe that he said that he'd look into the white screen issue.

it's acutally a known issue with ICS period.. it happens on my inspire running aosp 4.04 the best thing u can do is go to app info clear data and cache and try again.. usually works and doesn't come back for quite a while

Thanks! I actually was not aware that this was a known issue with ICS as a whole. I've been running CM9 on my Touchpad and have never experienced this issue in the past. Since the Flyer is the second device that I've owned that has run ICS, I just assumed that the white screen was a ROM issue as opposed to an ICS issue. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but couldn't find it. I've also looked elsewhere online with no answer and contacted Samsung who have promised to call me back within 24hrs. About 36hrs later still nothing.
Anyway - I've recently sent my SGS2 off for repair under the warranty and when it has returned they've flashed it with the latest firmware (4.04 - wasn't available on Kies the few days before I sent it off). The only issue is now there is a box in the background of the home screen and I can't seem to get rid of it. I've even tried a Factory reset which leads me to believe they may have put some sort of diagnostics firmware on or enabled something in a boot menu which i know not much about on the SGS2 at the moment as it's fairly new phone.
From what I can see it's not a widget and it doesn't appear to be linked with any installed software - there's also nothing running in the task manager realted to this, and when everything is closed this remains in the background of the home screen.
I've attached a screen shot of the box so if anyone can help me in disabling it, I will be very thankful - and if Samsung reply in the meantime I will post the fix here for anyone else who may have this issue in the future.

When I first updated to the new release I did the ota update and when it rebooted all it would do is say bazooka crashed or something to that and wanted me to force close. And that keeps popping up and I can't do anything beside reboot and sometimes have to hold power and volume down to make it restart. So I thought maybe something went around and manually downloaded it and manually installed it and it still did the same thing. Any ideas on what went wrong or what I did wrong? Any input would be wonderful.

lol weird rule. sorry i keep forgetting about that rule by the way you need to know avatar has two roms one for cdma one for gsm normal spyder is cdma and umts spyder is gsm ok keep that in mind when flashing rom
K well you may have answered my question cause my new file for 2.8b has umts in it and my 2.7b file has spyder in it. So some how it is mixed up. Thanks again.
Well I went back and made sure I had the correct file and it did the same thing. After I enetered all my Google information and got out of the setup as soon as it came to the lock screen it stated bazooka has stopped.

did you try googling the error? honestly i have not used the rom so i dont know the errors but i know the developer is very active on his thread how about sending him a pm with your problem and asking him he might have a chance and reply
so i finally got it working but now i cant add my google profile to sync my contacts. i had it on 2.7b. idk. im about to go crazy i think.
so i got it this time. i flashed the gapps again and it fixed it.

I would love to post this in development but the rules say i cant- yet someone can post "way to go guys"
Any way- I have a verizon razr maxx. I was rooted and on jb through the dual boot for quite a while. I was using the avatar rom and then liquid smooth but i was experiencing synch issues with email on both roms. I also found i lost network often so i decided to clean up phone after saving photos and other important stuff to laptop. I wiped sd cards- both ext and int - and the flashed the ics firmware using rsd-lite- so basically a fresh phone. I then tried matts utilities to get root back but no luck. I seem stuck at ics with no root and the phone doesnt respond to any utilities with in fastboot.
I think the answer is to flash back to an earlier firmware and start over- that seem about right? Any advice?

Any help? I tried Matt's utility again after an OTA but I keep getting messages that it fails due to "files exists" on the data/logger portion after doing the battery saver instructions on smart actions.

So a few months ago I posted a thread saying that themer beta does not work on my new galaxy s5. Till this day it still does not work and got no answer on how to fix it. When I select a them it says loading, and all of a sudden the phone turns black. The buttons highlight for about 3 secs and stop. I then completely turn off the phone. After that it starts up without the samsung boot icon and takes me directly to the Verizion boot icon, where it freezes and I have to remove the battery and put it back in. Any help!?!?
It also seems other people are having this problems on other phones like the HTC One M8. They say it's from the new update.
I'm using a galaxy s5 and it works perfectly.

Other launchers work fine. Sorry for late reply, but some themes work. Others crash my phone. I have only had one theme that has worked. The launcher works, but some of the themes don't.
