[Q] Can't see how loud my ringer is - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a HTC Hero S that I just got the other day. I rooted it over the weekend and noticed that when I go to change the volume of my ringer or to put it on silence it won't show it. I can hear the chimes and the icon in the notification bar tells me if it is silent/vibrate/or ring but the volume bar or whatever it is called will not show up. How do I get that back? Thanks for any input.

[Q] Aria / Android Ringer Volume broken

I have a rooted, Liberted HTC Aria. I can set the volume all the way down to vibrate via the rocker, place it on the table, call it from another phone, and the phone will ring.
When I re-check the volume level it is set to the quietest ring, not vibrate.
I have repeated this over and over as I though I was just accidentally hitting the rocker while it was holstered, but that's not the case.
I've tried downloading volume lock. I set the phone to vibrate and test volume lock to see if it works.
It does, I get a message to confirm new volume level, if i don't it stays on vibrate, as indicated by the vibrate icon.
Then you call the phone... The phone rings and the volume is now set to the quietest ring, not vibrate.
Any ideas, this is a huge inconvenience at work?
Thanks.
Don't know how old this thread is, but I will tell you, you are not going crazy.
I have a vibrant that is rooted and custom rom loaded.
I've had the custom rom for 3-4 months now.
I reloaded some crappy rom, and after I did that, no matter what rom i put on it, I get this ringer problem.
So, no, it's really a problem, you're not imaging it.
So far I can only think that the default build.prop has been funked with.
Or, one of the programs that you installed is messing with it.
I think that it more likely is #1 because on fresh install the phone is fine. But upon reloading all my apps (apps only, no data/ system data), the damn phone will funk up and do the ring crap again.
So, try Odin - to stock and from there, flash a brand new rom and restore one by one.
Sorry mate, that's what I've found, it sucks. I hope you found a solution for this. Like I said, I have a Vibrant, so I don't browse the "Aria" forum at all. I found this thread on GOOGLE.

now its ok, problem fixed, just installed latest jkay deluxe settings and my problem was solved. before its like this: example the notification volume is just 1 /10, when i adjust the ringing or media volume via volume keys, notification volume increases, regardless of adjusting the ringing volume down, notification volume still goes up.

Volume indicator on lock screen

New to these forums, so hello all. I am coming from an Incredible 2 to the S4. The Inc2 was running cyanogenmod. When the screen was locked and I was listening to music for example if i pressed the volume up or down key, I could see the volume indicator from the lockscreen. I'm currently running stock on my S4. Is there a way to show the volume indicator from the lock screen when the volume up or down key is pressed. TIA.
That's not going to happen in the Touchwiz framework.. It sounds like it was built into Cyanogenmod. You'll just have to rely on your ears to hear the volume levels going up and down for now.
Thanks.
