The ACE of my sister have the stock 2.3.4 rom and I rooted with Gingerroot and everything goes fine, except when i try to do something that needs SU permisions, like convert user apps to system app with TB, or try to enable swap partition with swapper, update SU binary, install Busybox, etc...
Anyone can help me???
Thanks in advance

You didn't give the details on what happened if you did those things.
But I suggest you follow EmoBoiix's instructions.

hi there i rooted my fone a couple of mins ago using the exploid method (026), it was a great success.., lemme go back to my question.., how can i clean up the apps that i don't need.,
in bin4ry's method (024) on step2 folder there's a file called cleanup.cmd i just have to edit it and run it.., it will remove all the unnecessary apps like the moxiersh*t on my (024) x10i..,
but when i used bin4ry's cleanup.cmd on my (026) is says "mount: operation not permitted"
i know they have different sources, but can somebody help me cleaning up my 026x10i?
any links?

Did you use the donate or free version of Titanium Backup? I have installed the free version but i still could not figure out how to delete or uninstall unwanted programs. Care to share how you did it? Thanks
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
long press the app u want 2 delete
nooo i dont need titanium backup.., what i said is.., the CMD(command) file in the root that can cleanup the apps using the computer not the phone itself..,
Jus use the cleanup file.. don't mount your usb, make sure usb debugging is on n c what happens!
as for titanium backup, there's nothing wrong with it.. does the job!! plus the full version can b used to freeze apps to c how the rest of your phone would react if u had actually uninstalled it!!
Sent from my rooted 026 X10i using swype via XDA!!
hi i still can't delete from titanium(free version).it doesn't give me an option to delete.
and from the cleanup file it tells me rm failed.red-only file system
yet the apps are still there!!(moxier, quadrapop etc.)
am i doing something wrong?
Download busybox of market and c if that confirms your root privileges..
if so then go into titanium n try your luck again
Sent from my rooted 026 X10i using swype via Xda
use exploid 1.08, once rooted again, open exploid app again, click unsecure shell, rerun the cleanup cmd. u should now be read/write mounted...

Make sure you edit the cleanup.cmd so it doesn't remove stuff you might need or want to keep.

If I remember correctly, what I did was uninstall it with TB, then using roorexplorer navigate to data/app and remove the apk, then went to app-private and removed it from there too.
thanks man, finally got rid of it!
i've installed wolfbreak's cm6 successfully(first time flashing custom rom), then i reinstall titanium back up from market to restore apps i backed up before. In TB i cannot find my backed up apps. Is this normal. Or i did something wrong? pls reply, thanks.
Hope this helps.
TB attached file. Put it on your sd card and install.
Note to MODS
I hope this is the free version..........if not please delete on my behalf!!!
Thaks for you reply, i can dl tb from market. The problem is that i cannot restore app i backed up prior using the new rom.

Have you accepted the superuser access request which you get at the start? if you have and still its not working then do a fresh install and try again. (or better just reboot and try once more)

I rooted my phone months ago but suddenly today I noticed when trying to make a backup with Titanium backup, a few weeks after my most recent backup, that the app lost it's root rights. Normally this wouldn't be a problem because when an app needs root access a pop-up display asks you if you want to grant or deny access. But since the pop-up wasn't showing up either I started searching on my phone for the superuser app. All settings seemd correct, also the premission manager which comes default with MIUI rom looked ok.
To keep the story short, I eventually found out that my phone lost it's root rights. Don't know why... perhaps a new kernel I tried the other day but even then it would be weird that my phone has suddenly unrooted.
So I tried rooting my phone again using Odin. I got all the confirmation messages I used to get after the rooting proces has completed so I re-ran Titanium backup. But this time after a few seconds I got a message onscreen that the root rights had been denied! I checked Superuser app and the log area showed me the same but I can't seem to find out why I keep getting this message instead of the regular Grant/Deny root access pop-up box.
I eventually even tried unrooting my phone. Then re-root using Odin including flashing of CWM touch and Superuser app. Still the same problem: every root based app I try (even typing "su" in the terminal) gets a toaster saying root access denied without even an option to grant or deny root access to this app.
What is happing with my SGS3 and how can I get my root access back to working state?

I believe the Carbon backup app from Koush doesn't require root, and there are other ADB backup tools out there, just search.
Play Store link here.
Advanced users might already know this, but this is for newbies. This method will help you to move almost all the apps you install to SD card and you needn't have any partition on sd or any a2sd script. You cannot move system pre-installed apps and also few manually installed apps to sd card like tasker, etc., but this method should give you a few more space than you'd normally get on internal storage. Let's get started !
Pre-requisites : Root, Terminal emulator, A pair of sharp eyes, hands to type and a useful brain
Steps :
1) Go to play store and download the terminal emulator app, it's free.
2) ENABLE USB DEBUGGING MODE.
3) Open terminal emulator app. Type,
su
Now hit enter on your keyboard. Grant super user permissions to terminal emulator. Then type,
pm set-install-location 2
Hit enter. Then type,
pm get-install-location
4) Exit terminal emulator. You can even uninstall terminal emulator if you want !
5) Go to manage apps and move the apps you want to sd card
Note : I highly recommend typing in the terminal emulator exactly as I've showed above with hyphens at appropriate places. Else it will not work you.
Enjoy !!

Yea, data can't be moved. Stays on internal storage. This method helped me on my card that started having problems after partitioning. Better than nothing at least...

Re: [How to] Move apps to sd without any script.
They say swipe partition kills your sd. The advantage of using this method is that you get just enough space for your apps and no partition is needed !

This can't be the fault of the method. Probably you have done something else wrong that has triggered all of this. Remember, try to keep vital apps meant to be on phone, on phone. That should do fine. I use this method along with the int2ext+ on my Rom here and I haven't had a problem ! How come you did ? And besides, what does a set install location had to do with system ui.apk ? Try again with safety measures...

My wife and I both have rooted L9 and used that script in /etc which freezes all the T-Mobile apps.

Any idea how I can get my upgrade to work?

No Dice, still getting dead android:
Unlinked all apps and unistalled Link2sd
Uninstalled Busybox
Unfroze everything except the two apks mentioned
I did use the Mass Storage script from this thread. It was installed via CWM. Could that be causing the problem? If so, what should I do to fix it?
Now I've gone and made a mess.
I didn't uninstall BusyBox, I only uninstalled the BusyBox installer APK. Now I can't reinstall that package to use it to remove the actual busybox binary. When I try to install Stericson's BusyBox installer from google play store I get "error downloading" RPC:S-5:AEC-0
Any idea where I should go from here?

Thanks, I'm all set now.
Here's what I did:
Installed a rooted V20D nandroid from the sticky thread
Installed BusyBox
Used Voodoo Rootkeeper to preserve root
Installed the OTA upgrade (clear data for Google Services Framework then check for update in the settings menu to force this)
Upgraded SuperSU binary
Restored Root (I might have done this before the SuperSU binary upgrade)
Let the phone fully update itself
Reboot into CWM
Make an initial backup
Wipe all data and cache
Make a clean backup for the next time this happens (per Nathan's advice)
Restore the initial backup
Perfect glad I could help.
