Saw a post where they were using bluetooth headset and calculator as a dialer!
I was encouraged to add some details to this post by GODZSON, so here goes!
The credit for putting this together goes to crmcsh01, He's going to post a walk-thru soon.
I'm using contradude's CleverNameHere ROM on the Cricket network android plan.
Cricket is cheap and they don't care about your hardware.
Using DialerOne app I get full cell phone OTA ( MDN, NAM, PRL and commit) with *22804
Using Universal CKT MMS (the black app), I've got full messaging over the cell net.
Groove IP and Google voice provides voip on the data net. Works fine.
Cell phone function is almost complete, just some audio issues, the posts below give some good ideas for fixes and toys.

I haven't cooked a ROM since my touchpro2, but I think there is a very good chance the android pros out there can figure out the phone details. Also hardware buttons could be remaped (camera?) like in the old winmobil. I'd like my toy to have all the bells & whistles!
Evo View Bluetooth Cricket Walkthrough
TUTORIAL COMPILED BY crmcsh01
Evo View Tutorial
Hey I'm having a blast with my new toy, tried all 3 roms and clevername seems to be the one I like the most. Anyways if you want to copy and paste this tutorial go ahead, I made a few tweeks to it but for the most part it is complete, I did say it's not 100% and would appreciate input from the community.
HTC EVO View 4g on Cricket:
CREDIT FOR THIS TUTORIAL IS AS FOLLOWS:
Google and the Open Handset Alliance (Android OS), MyCricket Forum, XDA-Developers, contradude (ROM), AlphaRev and unrevoked (Revolutionary: S-off & Recovery Tool)
If I missed anyone, let me know. If you want me to link to any website I will.
I take no credit for the information provided; I simply compiled a set of instructions that worked for me.
This tablet was surprisingly easy to get onto Cricket’s network and I am able to use almost every feature, the only part not working is incoming calls. Google Voice works for incoming and outgoing calls though, so I thought I would give a walkthrough of what I did to get this tablet working on Cricket’s network. Keep in mind that this is not 100% complete yet, I would really appreciate input from the community to better this tutorial.
Prerequisites:
- CDMA Workshop paid version and QPST. You can probably get this done without Workshop but Workshop makes it MUCH easier.
- A rooted HTC Evo View, (I used CleverNameHere Rom RLS1) by contradude, I have not had time to play with honeycomb yet.
- Put your Evo View’s MEID on Cricket’s network on the $55 android plan, make sure it is NOT on your account as a (CPE) or your data will not work.
Instructions:
1. Open up your calculator app and put the tablet into landscape mode type !!3424! =, this will put your tablet into debug mode.
2. Open up CDMA workshop and connect to the proper com port.
3. Under the security tab, read the spc using “HTC Method” and write it to 0’s.
4. Under NAM tab, put your “MIN” “MDN” and “HomeSID” in the appropriate columns.
5. Under the EVDO tab put [email protected] in all 4 columns and “cricket” (NO quotes) for your passwords. Change Mobile IP Behavior to MobIPandSimple.
6. Under the PRL Tab, write Cricket’s android prl to the tablet. I use 42700
7. Do a mode reset and when it boots up you should get a “3g” icon and data should work.
8. If you keep getting a handsfree activation prompt:
a. Connect phone to QPST v2.7 build 323
UNDER M.IP TAB, delete all user profiles except 0 and 1, you should be able to double click users 0 and 1 and edit the profile
User [email protected]
HA and AAA shared secret > Text String > cricket
Do the same for both profiles
Change Active User - 1
UNDER PPP CONFIG TAB
> Um
Input [email protected] in Tethered NAI and User ID
Password > cricket
>AN
Input [email protected] in User ID
Password > cricket
9. Using root explorer or root browser, edit the build.prop file under /system/build.prop and edit the following line:
ro.phone.function=0 change the 0 to a 1 and you should have your phone enabled.
10. There are a couple ways to setup mms messaging. The way I used was to install APNbackup and Restore
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>
<apns>
<apn name="Production" numeric="310012" mcc="310" mnc="012" apn="1" user="your10digit#[email protected]" server="wap.mycricket.com" password="cricket" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="8080" mmsprotocol="2.0" mmsc="http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms" type="mms" />
</apns>
Just edit the "your10digit#here" part with your phone number and save this.
Place it on your phone's SDCard under a folder called "apnbackuprestore". Then open the Android App APN Backup and Restore (on the Market). Backup the stock settings. Then delete APNs and restore the new APNs you just created.
11. To get youtube to work, dial !!3282!= from the calculator. Click edit and then enter the MSL. It will prompt you for a password which is the MSL or SPC.
Choose Advanced and at the bottom pick RTSP\HTTP Setting:
Change RTSP Proxy Address to: 0.0.0.0
Change RTSP Proxy Port to: 0
Change HTTP PD Proxy Address to: 0.0.0.0
Change HTTP PD Proxy Port to: 0
12. For a dialer there are a couple options I have found, If using HTC Sense, I had to install a dialer app from the market, dialerone worked for me, you might need to run the apk from a fileexplorer as I am not sure if the market will give you a result since you are using a tablet. If I put launcherpro on this tablet and use launcher pro, I have the actual HTC Dialer on my home screen no problem. If you make a test call with it, you can dial *228 send and your tablet will program over the air. If you call out using cricket service, you will need to use Bluetooth in order to hear anything, but if you use groveip and google voice, it will automatically go to a fully functioning speaker phone when you place a call.

Didn't have enough posts to include links, so dtack posted for me, any question just ask!
Thread cleaned
Thread had been cleaned up for development, Thanks to dtack and crmcsh01 for info.. edit current posts with updates
P.s. For dev info the Jet Stream modded with phone service.
as for the instructions, do these instructions work on sprint? Just use sprint prl, instead of the password being cricket itll be sprint?
I really want this work... id rather use this than my evo 3d
I just spent about an hour going over my evo 3d build.prop and the buil.prop for the view 4g (viperrom) and I added any values from the evo 3d build.prop that wernt in the viperrom (view) build.prop. I adjusted a few things too.
anyone want to give this a try on the sprint network and see if it gets us any further on getting the view working on the sprint network for calls?
here is the build prop I modified
http://www.multiupload.com/O6Y4ODVDJY
I am sure the view would work as a phone on Sprint. I think the biggest issue you will run into is getting sprint to activate or put your view's MEID/ESN onto an account the same way they would put an Evo 3d on. If you try to activate it as a phone, they will see it as a tablet in their system and probably not do it. Cricket was pretty easy because as far as they were concerned it was just another ESN to put on an account, as far as they know, it is an EVO 3d.
it is possible to change the meid number
im just saying it "can" be done. Im not saying do it lol
Changing MEID on instrument is illegal (I think so). If you change MEID on your handset, then you need to get this MEID registered on Sprint.
dtack, you asked to enable the phone function in build.prop. Would this enable the bluetooth headset to work with VIEW or should we do some more tweaking?
I have tried enabling the bluetooth in build.prop (two properties mentioned for flyer gsm) and tried connecting to PC (PC as a bluetooth headset), left out with unluck. It could connect the media audio but not the phone.
pls help us on this.

I used the RUU by globatron and used just the ro.phone.function, bluetooth related props then CDMA service parameters for our operator in India. It connected to CDMA network in India.
When I updated with HoneyComb by gloabtron, and changed the phone.function alone, I am getting dialer enabled from DialerOne. But I am getting Yellow background image with text "Wrong!" underneath the contacts icon and underneath the history icon which are beside the "End Call" button (same as my old old condition before successful phone app) . Bluetooth is not connecting to Phone audio, but connecting to media audio. Could you help us how to get this enabled on HC.
For timebeing I rolled back to GB by globatron and my phone is enabled again with no problems.
Any help with Honeycomb is appreciated.

you say it connected in india?
and the phone functions worked on GB?
Could you make calls and recieve calls?
Txts worked?
Did you have to use grooveip and google talk or did it just work with sprint?
also what if you installed (or pushed) http://www.multiupload.com/SZFSA47UQH
its the phone.apk from my evo 3d..
I am in India. like Sprint, we have CDMA Operators called Reliance/Tata/MTS.
As quoted by crmcsh01 I need to get the MEID enrolled on it. For time being I have mapped the parameters for India Operator Reliance. Only calls I can make is to *333 and *228. I called these numbers on GB and heard the activation instructions. It worked connecting these numbers. Once I get the plan enabled on these would post the results (might take a week or two for this) for Txts and Receiving calls.
I didn't used GrooveIP to connect the CDMA Operator. When I used GrooveIP to call US numbers, it worked as well.
Do you mean installing the phone.apk on HC? Phone app got enabled on my HC. But problem is I didn't hear any voice on my bluetooth that I heard when it was GB when I called *228. So I rolled it back to GB. I see a yellow colored "Wrong!" text on both sides of the "End Call" button during this call in HC along with no sound in bluetooth as well as speaker.
GB is the one i'd perfer to be functional first. don't like HC so much lol.
if I'm correct thee apk I posted is the GB one.
Pls find attached the snap shot of Phone App I am getting in HC. pls see the yellowish background in the bottom left and right sides. I will check the GB one for messages and post the results.

Good work!
Could you post a copy of your build.prop?
Also a list of all your settings under the EPST ( !!3282! in landscape calc mode ) would be great.
To OTA with my carrier here in the states the spc needs to be zeroed out.
Try to verify which phone apk is being used.
Thanks!
After using globatron's GB RUU, I went to build.prop (after SU flash, RE), then changed below properties as mentioned in #2 post in this thread (by crmcsh01/dtack)
ro.phone.function=1
ro.bt.profiles = 4270403
service.brcm.bt.ag_supported = 1
Initially I saw the HTC Phone app. After second boot, this icon got disappeared. But I could call the numbers using the "People" app. I have created the contacts for activation and then used "People" app to call the number required.
If we don't enable the ro.phone.function, then "call" is disappearing from the "People" application against the contact (only SMS remains)
I didn't change the EPST values other than using CDMA WS and changing SPC/MSL to 000000, MCC (Country code) to 404 and our primary and secondary A/B values to match the operator. Once I get the connection I will change these to the needed.
Pls find attached build.prop that is working for my GB as phone (Not yet tested Receiving Calls and Txts. Expecting connection to get in 10 days ).

FIRST OF ALL.. ALL CREDIT GOES TO MYCRICKETFORUM. One of the best tutorials I have ever seen, especially for beginners.
Full Flash Sprint HTC Evo 3D to Cricket: Talk, Text, MMS, Internet
This is a revolutionary phone and hopefully some we see some of it's technology in other phones.
At this moment there is no 4G with Cricket. They have already made moves to establish a partnership and have an LTE network. It has been rumored that Sprint is even trying to move away from the Clear 4g network (WiMAX). This means that you will have no 4G service when you flash this phone. I believe the radio gets it's authentication by MAC address so it might be possible to put this on a Clear account. One of my customers said he was able to do this with his Epic that I flashed. He was also a Clear reseller.
Until we get permanent root, this tutorial will just cover putting the device on the $55 Android plan.
Let it be known that sometimes Cricket says they have put you on the $55 Android plan, but they put you on the All in 55 Plan (5m5). This is not where you want to be. You're paying 10 more bucks a month for absolutely nothing over the 45 dollar plan.
We offer plan change for free to forum members. Just use the contact us link at the very bottom of this page. Supporting members of the forum receive additional benefits such as free ESN changes on your account. No more paying $15 everytime you change phones. To become a Supporting Member, just go to the settings up top and find Paid Subscriptions on the left hand side. Choose a membership level of your liking. Also use the contact us form for any modifications you need made to your account or additional help.
Anyways moving right along. We'll establish the items that you will need. This is usually similar across the board.
NOTE: At the very end we'll include some wireless tethering instructions.
A. QPST (QPST Version 2.7 Build 355)
http://www.mycricketforum.com/flash...amming/5372-qpst-version-2-7-build-355-a.html
B. HTC Diagnostic drivers for the Evo (attached on this thread [32 and 64 bit])
C A Windows PC with either Win7, XP or Vista plus your Evo 3D with a USB cord.
D. PRL (*STICKY* Official Cricket PRL Thread)

E. CDMA workshop (google) OR CDMA Workshop 2.7 Download) to get the MSL (aka SPC) if you don't know it already. Alternative would be MSL reader from the Market or attached below.
http://www.mycricketforum.com/flashing-tools-files-programming/44-cdma-workshop-2-7-download.html
F. OPTIONAL: Android SDK which includes ADB drivers. (Android SDK | Android Developers)
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Please watch the videos and use the tutorial here. It helps to use both.

VIDEO #2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NpavnahHYs&feature=related
SPC/MSL Obtaining
Skip through all these screens on the EVO 3D until you are at the home screen. Go into the phone dialer and hit ##3424#. You might have to hit talk after this. It'll cause the phone to go into DIAG mode. You'll see the device on your computer. Use the diagnostic drivers (specify their specific location) to complete the install.
Now you can find your MSL using CDMA Workshop.
For CDMA Workshop, the port number has to be fairly low. I think we're talking about under 30. You'll see when you start it though. Look at your device manager to figure out the port that it's on. Select that port and then hit connect. Go over to the security tab and for SPC hit read. It'll give you your MSL/SPC. The best thing to do here is to use the SPC button then SEND command to send this number back to the phone and unlock it. Then type in 000000 or some number that's easy to remember. Hit the SPC button and WRITE. Now the MSL/SPC is 000000 or whatever you typed. This is all you need to do with CDMA Workshop.
Programming
This is the point where you will be using QPST. Use this tutorial to setup the EVO correctly. Note that the mobile IP behavior must be Simp or you will get errors on your Evo from time to time.
Ignore any NV read errors you get when writing to the phone.
Once you get done with this part, talk and text will work. If you are on the $55 Android the Internet should work. However...
Working with new devices (never activated)
If you watched the video, between part 1 and 2 we have a little change in plan here. This was due to the fact that our device was brand new and never activated. The hands free activation kept on popping up, and we don't believe the device had accepted all of the programming at that time. Our hunt led is to Sprint's website.
Dial ##(and your SPC, we set it to 000000)#. This will open up the EPST menu. Click edit mode. Put in the proper Mobile Directory number (your phone number) and the MSID (your MIN). Hit the menu button and then select commit modifications. The phone will reboot.
Once the phone has rebooted, go to the dialer again and hit ##data#. Click edit mode and enter your SPC for access. Make sure the settings look like it does below:
Active Profile: 1
User Name: [email protected] (put your phone number in this)
Reverse Tunnel Preferred: Enable
Home IP Address: 0.0.0.0
Primary Home Agent: 0.0.0.0
Second Home Agent: 0.0.0.0
HA Shared Secret: cricket
AAA Shared Secret: cricket
You can try hitting menu and commit modifications, but it will most likely tell you there were no changes made. Back out, go to advanced and then continue with the multimedia streaming setup below.
Media Streaming
Youtube videos might not play unless you modify some settings. Sprint by default routes media through their servers. To change this dial ##data# from the dialer on the Evo. You will get to the EPST settings. Click edit and then enter the MSL. It will prompt you for a password which is the MSL aka SPC.
Once you get past that, go to advanced > RTSP Proxy Address (for stock Gingerbread it's advanced > RTSP/HTTP Setting > RTSP Proxy Port). Make this 0.0.0.0. Also make the HTTP PD Proxy Address 0.0.0.0. Also change the ports for both of these to 0. Back out and you should be good.
MMS
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>
<apns>
<apn name="Production" numeric="310012" mcc="310" mnc="012" apn="1" user="your10digit#[email protected]" server="wap.mycricket.com" password="cricket" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="8080" mmsprotocol="2.0" mmsc="http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms" type="mms" />
</apns>
Just edit the "your10digit#here" part with your phone number and save this.
Place it on your phone's SDCard under a folder called "apnbackuprestore". Then open the Android App APN Backup and Restore (included in this thread and on the Market) on your Evo. Backup the stock settings. Then delete APNs and restore the new APNs you just created.
You should have everything working now. Talk, text, MMS, and Internet. There are a few more steps left to enhance the experience. Below is my attempt to fix a step that I left out.
YOU HAVE COMPLETE THE FULL FLASHING TO CRICKET. ENJOY!

EDIT: Thanks. I also fixed the grammar around the first statement. Someone suggested a change in the original wording... I modified part of the sentence and forgot to look at the rest.
ta!
Thanks for this, I will be using it to flash a 3d later. I'm also going to join the other forum to check some info on a few other phones I'm flashing.
I'll let you know if anything comes up.
A question as well, I know that with the Evo 4g Sprint removed the stock voicemail notification service as they used their "visual" voicemail app, is the Evo 3d set up the same way?
Unfortunately the Evo 3D is also. You can try Voicemail Notifier (extorian) and see if that works. I posted a download in my forum.
For some reason they removed it from the Market. Maybe it won't work. Not sure. I've forwarded my voicemail to Google Voice so I have a type of Visual Voicemail now.
When I flashed my OG evo over to cricket, sometimes the stock browser and dolphin did not work. When this happened, I used opera..only when cricket services for data where not working with them and always connected. So if you cricket guys get these same type of random not working..have it loaded on your phone as a backup browser.
hey what if the phone got flashed back to sprints latest 2.3.5 stock firmware from cricket but the msl code was never put back instead its still 000000, i want to take the phone in for service the s is on and the phone is not rooted, my usb port is broken so i cannot root my device or turn s off or diag mode for cdmaWS. Will sprints repair look at this as a sign of voided warranty beacuse the msl code is now 000000, is there anything else i can do?

Most likely yes they will look at both as voiding the warranty. Technically any modification done on the phone will void the warranty.

Im trying to get my evo 3d spc, but the method this guys is using in the video is not working. Im using 01f2030f5f678ff9 as password and is telling me "Password is correct Phone is unlocked. But it doesnt show me any spc on spc box.

Alright as much as I love a poll on a tutorial I made that originally didn't include a source, here's the entire forum on flashing the 3d.

I don't know why you are sending anything to get the spc. All you have to do is connect and then read the spc from the security tab.
im doing that but nothing happend it doesnt show me the spc. im using radio 2.17... Radio matter in this case?

Danmm Dude thanks a lot you save my day.
Does anyone know how you can get it to work on the 25 or 35 dollar plan? I think the 25dollar plan would be better because I only need 300 minutes.
Is there a need for a "donor" phone, or an already active account with cricket to get the 3vo to work? Cuz trying to open new account, I was told my phone couldn't be activated with cricket...

F. OPTIONAL: Android SDK which includes ADB drivers. (Android SDK | Android Developers)

Please watch the videos and use the tutorial here. It helps to use both.

MMS
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>
<apns>
<apn name="Production" numeric="310012" mcc="310" mnc="012" apn="1" user="your10digit#[email protected]" server="wap.mycricket.com" password="cricket" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="8080" mmsprotocol="2.0" mmsc="http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms" type="mms" />
</apns>
ENJOY!
Issues:
TEXT: It is possible that your text messages will come in with the wrong time. If this is the case, you can download SMS Time Fix from the Market and set it up however you prefer.

Is this some kind of a scam?
It's clear to me that whoever wrote this combined already written parts by someone else with his own broken grammar parts.
Why on earth would you (or anybody) want to flash a Sprint HTC Evo 3D to Cricket
because they can
This is actually my tutorial from my forum.
I had modified my Evo tutorial. I corrected the grammar on my thread.
Getting 3G and Multimedia Text Messages Working with ICS (Sprint SUCKS)
I just noticed that you jacked an existing thread. For that I will change my rating to 1 star (just tried, they won't let me ). Why TF would you do such a thing?

I got kicked off of Sprint due to "excessive roaming", Unlimited roaming my arshe That's why.. Never late on bill, never charged overages ;( They told me, "You are costing Sprint more than we are making on you" WTF!!!
Or you could flash the Evo 3D to Verizon 50 a month unlimited everything prepaid, nothing beats unlimited!

Okay first off I can CONFIRM THE REZOUND IS A GLOBAL PHONE (lets just get that out of the way).
EVIDENCE
Okay so I purchased my HTC Rezound form an American eBayer and he shipped it to me just after Christmas (i live in the UK), i was already under the impression that the Rezound was a global phone but just before it arrived everyone was saying that it doesn't have the GSM or WCDMA networks which made me sad
But when it arrived i thought i would try what i thought would work, sooooo i place the sim card in the phone and powered it up. After setting it up i went to the phones dialer and dialed: *#*#4636#*#* and then went to phone information and changed the network type. I was shocked to find that there was many options including 'GSM only' and 'WCDMA only' . So i switched the phone to WCDMA only and the phone picked up signal and showed T-Mobile in the notification bar .
(I got my data by adding the T-Mobile APN and then going to wi-fi settings>>advanced and changed the time till wifi switches to mobile network to 15 mins (then waited 15 mins))

Problems (That i think can be fixed)
Okay so the only two problems are:
1. I can receive and make calls, can use data (internet) but i can only receive texts and not make them?
(When i try to send a text, as soon as i press send the network signal shuts off and i have to press no when a message appears that says something like "would you like to try and send text when phone has signal?")
Anyone know how to fix? Is this T-Mobile UK SMSC Number?: +447958879879
I HAVE TRIED:
1. Changing SMSC number under: *#*#4636#*#* (there is no option in the HTC Mms.apk (Messaging app))
2. Changing to/installed HTC Sensation XE's [SENSE 3.5] Mms.apk and still same problem (also made sure the SMSC number is correct)
Screenshot to show texts not sending and network stops: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B0U8I71u15EGYTFhMGEwZmMtMzYwZi00MTdkLWI2MGQtYmIxMDljNGUyZDgy
2. And the other is just to get rid of the lockscreen message that says "This SIM card is from an unknown source".
TEMP FIX (Until Reboot): If the ROM you are using has the tweaks menu (MikROM) then you can go to Miscellaneous Options>>>Choose Lockscreen Style and select 'Android Lockscreen', Then Restart or Hot Restart and change the option back to 'HTC Sense Lockscreen'. THIS WILL REMOVE THE 'This SIM card is from an unknown source' message, but this process must be done every time your battery dies or you turn off the phone.
(still better than the ugly message every time you turn on the phone screen).

So please could some DEVS work on this cause this is another great advantage to the Rezound that was let down by the Verizon tailored HTC Sense.
This
You just need the exact right apns for sending texts. I hope you deleted the Verizon ones?
I'd do an APN backup of an htc t mobile phone, then in the rezound delete apns, then restore apns
I use apn backup and restore
Mb you've already done exactly this but thought I'd suggest. Need to customize a few apns for your phone number, mb didn't customize all of them? Our if Verizon one still sits there?
Possibly need a copy of an mms.apk from a gsm phone because some settings built into the Verizon apk may make it fail to send
I did delete the verizon ones, and i only filled in the T-mobile APN like this and left all other settings blank:
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: user
Password: pass
Dude, seriously.... DOES NOT BELONG IN DEVELOPMENT!
Back in my experience with AT&T, there was a phone number for the messing center that needed to be input. Otherwise, you couldn't send text but could receive them. Do you'll need 2 things ... the phone number to your carrier's messaging center and the place to input it in your phone.
I did a quick look and couldn't find the field. But that's what you're missing.

It does belong in mods but if this works fully I would be very happy to not need a gsm phone when traveling internationally.

Okay i tried entering SMSC number in phone information (*#*#4636#*#*)
and no luck, am i entering right number or is it just not going through?
Anybody no how to change the smsc number an other way?

No, it does not belong in development. Development is for WORKING MODS/HACKS/ROMS/KERNERLS/ETC, not to talk about or request Developer help. Hence why it was moved.
I think it is funny that people think that the Devs are locked in the development forum and can't get out. That the only place to reach them is in there . Yes they can and do read other forums!
off topic:
but how do you get your battery on status bar to show the percentage?
How come HTC told me its not global?

I was just in Japan. VZW rep told me my phone would work out there. Got there and could only receive SMS and Calls, couldn't make SMS or Calls. Two other people I was out there with had no problems with there VZW iPhone and LG android.
Global support told me that the 4g LTE sim can't authenticate on the CDMA network or there. I was able to get $40 off my bill for my troubles ....

That would be because you used the VZW sim which only works on certain frequency. They are talking about unlocking the sim and using one that authenticates for GSM/WCDMA/LTE.
The MMS.apk app you have is the CDMA version of it so no you will not have access to the SMS center number... You need to have the mms.apk from a GSM sense phone to have access to that settings, but even then you will probably run into problems.
Problems like.. Resolutions issues, FC's ... It not working at all
OR... Its a universal apk and a simple edit with in one of the XMLs would enable that options or something..... Food for thought

I did try and download an app call SMS Pro (or something like that) and it had the option to change the SMSC number but my text still cut the network out as soon as i press send
try pushing the mms.apk and such from a european sensation sense 3.5 rom. Then reboot into recovery and clear the cache and dalvik cache. Maybe that will work for you.
Ok here's my evil little plan. I am from India. And its only 149$ on Amazon. So can I buy it on Amazon and then just use it here? How much would it be, without contract?
There are.only GSM networks here..so will.i still face problems lie the OP?

$649 USD. $149 is with a 2 year contract for new Verizon subscribers.
Is there anyway to flash the Droid Razr to metro pcs and if so can someone provide me with a link? If I'm posting in the wrong place just let me know.
i'm thinking you may need more than just flashing for that.
Do you know what I might need then? This verizon bill is killing me. I know people have successfully flashed the razr to Cricket. I mean I know I'm gonna need to root kit which isn't a problem I've done that kind of thing plenty of times and I've just been procrastinating on doing it on my Razr for some reason.
i know how to flash it to metropcs just cant get it into the metropcs system so if someone can help me as far as getting it into the system i can definately help them on the falshing part

http://www.cricketusers.com/verizon...-cricket-wireless-talk-text-mms-internet.html
At the moment this is a placeholder for notes. The tutorial might have to be finished by someone who has more time than me to work on this device. Mine is on Verizon now. I will probably poke at it a little bit more when I get home and back to a normal schedule, but throughout December, it's going to be hectic for me. I'm going to try and add pictures so someone will have some knowledge going into this where I had none. If someone can get a hold of a Bionic tutorial, this might be similar.
Currently talk and text works but 3g data drops out. It works when it's connected but wants to cycle off and on A LOT.
As a good rule of thumb, always try to backup your settings before modifying them.
DIAG MODE
Verizon Droid RAZR Diagnostic Mode How To
NOTES (semi based off Thunderbolt tutorial)
CDMA WS 3.5 or later will give you more options and another method of writing data profiles to the device.
QPST does work HOWEVER you cannot read and then write the original settings to the phone (after modification of course). You have to start fresh and write ONLY.
CDMA AUTO (PRL) MODE (info from RLockwich)
Go into *#*#4636#*#* - Went into phone information (Set to CDMA Only PRL, DNS check allowed, Query CFU enabled).
QPST
Add the port for the device if required under QPST configuration. It's going to be the DIAG port. Just check device manager to see what port that is.
Use the Service Programming application under the QPST folder to access the phone. Connect to it but don't read.
Now follow this tutorial to write the proper information:
http://www.cricketusers.com/flashing...s-cricket.html
Write to the phone. Reboot it once all the writing is done and catch the boot to put it back in DIAG mode. If you don't it's no big deal, but you will have to power it down and get it back in DIAG mode before continuing.
CDMA WS
Open up CDMA WS and connect to the port with the RAZR. Go to the security tab and send the SPC 000000. Then go to the memory tab and send the DROID NV items which can be found at whiterabbit.org. It should write the NV items and fix the data.
UPDATE: The following might be required
Go to the "Other" tab and navigate to "R-UIM" then click read.
Change it to "NV Only" and write to phone. It should say Successful
Close out CDMA WS and reboot the phone.
Phone Settings (info from RLockwich)
Go into the ##PROGRAM select option 14 for LTE I turned off LTE bppanic, LTE Movement detection, and disabled Class 1,2,2 APNS
Additional Instructions (info from RLockwich)
Just went through all the settings again, I hope everyone can have as much luck as I just did. I was thinking, and I remember seeing the end of the thunderbolt tutorial says the last step is to remove the 4G LTE microSIM. I had tried that before early on when I first flashed it, but when I removed the card, it showed No Sim, no network connection and a SIM symbol with a exclamation point. I just tried it again a hour ago...Pulled the SIM, showed no network and then I rebooted the phone... FIVE times on and off all with immediate and STABLE 3G at 10 minutes a time between rebooting. FIXED. Done messing with it.
UPDATE 12/19 - After this last post it's been 4 days since we cracked the 3G cycling issue, and my phone is working excellent! I'm very glad I was able to be a part of this and get credit work any work I put into this.
Dina's Notes:
Got everything working THANKS to Chris and RLokwich! Oh, and for those of you that are not yet successful with this flash, just re-read the entire thread. Everything you need is HERE!
It was not all smooth in the beginning.
Insights:
1) No need for BP tools. If your phone is on the homescreen, just connect it to the cable, choose PC mode and set up the port in HW.
2) Mine took like 5 master resets before 3g showed up. So in case you are pulling your hair as to why 3g not showing up, master reset the phone. Turn on wifi. Bypass activation screen (backwards C method works if you keep trying for like 2 minutes), go through the set up pages and 3g will be there.
Everything is stable so far. 3g working like a charm.
Discovered a secret!
If you do not get 3g up, make sure to Enable at least one APNs in the LTE settings (##PROGRAM menu)
Now time for some icecream

MMS (needs to be tested)
The only thing I've realized now that is wrong, is no MMS. I have MMS through the tutorial on bypassing the apn through GoSMS, but I would very much like to not have it to be that way. I thought early on in this flash that I did have MMS, I think I was just being a smart ass so I changed some settings in ##PROGRAM for the SMS/MMS part that I copied from the Thunderbolt tutorial. I don't know if I messed something up. I was also thinking I've seen people having two Cricket apns? One for internet and one for MMS, does anyone know if that may fix it? I was thinking it may be that, but in my apn for cricket already, I edited it and filled in all the MMS settings for that APN. Maybe that's something I did wrong, I don't know.
If anyone does have working MMS on their flashed Razr, please post anything that might help us. Please post all your settings in SMS/MMS in ##PROGRAM and into your APN edit settings for Cricket APN you have for MMS (if you have anything filled out in the MMS blanks)
##Program

Try adding an APN for Cricket's settings or modifying the existing APNs to reflect Cricket's MMS settings.
this is what i used to get my phone on metro but the only issue im having is getting the phone itself into metropcs inventory....
i have a droid 3 esn im willing to use or if theres a way to just get the razr into the system that would be the better method

Hi EPST and reprogramming your phone, a comprehensive guide
I see a lot of posts in dev threads like "i flashed your rom now my signal/data is gone" so i decided to create this guide to help relieve unnecessary posts. Hope it helps
An introduction to EPST
Epst is a application that sprint uses to activate/program a phone. It read/writes to the NAM of your phone.NAM is an acronym for Numeric Assignment Module and is the place in TDMA/CDMA equipment where your phone number, ESN, system information and data settings live. In the old days we programmed handsets by hand, now it is usually done OTA (much is preset, a little is manually entered, data provisioning is truly OTA). It has many uses but this guide will concentrate on the data portion of epst. Here are the 3 codes that we will be using:
##3282# (data)
##72786# (scrtn)
##786# (reverse logistics support)
Keep in mind you will need your msl either from sprint (its really easy to get), or msl reader from the maket (root required)
##3282# (Data)
{

The Data menu is broken down into 6 menus and usb charging selection.
1. Data Profile: This is where you can setup multiple data profiles (not sure why you would to) and contains your sprint username and other info on your data profile.
2. Evdo: Two menus here DDTM and preferred mode. DDTM is an option to where if you are downloading over your 3g/1x it will send calls to voice mail. It can be useful if you are trying to download a large file over 3g and don't want it to be interrupted. Preferred mode is exactly that... your network preferred mode. There are several settings there all of which are safe to use. Mine is set to cdma hdr only because i have no lte in my area. In theory it should save a little battery life by not scanning for lte.
3. Advanced: This menu contains a lot of important info. From your esn/meid to toggling lte.
There a few settings in here you can tweak to possibly benefit from.
A. Slot Cycle Index (SCI): This determines how often a handset polls the network for coverage and incoming packets. The default value is 2. A "Slot" is 1.28 seconds and doubles with each incremental change from 0 to 7 (0=1.28, 1=2.56, 2=5.12 seconds, etc). setting a handset to poll more often may use noticeably more battery if coverage is thin or lacking.
B. ACCOLC (Access Overload Class): This code determines your priority to make and receive calls on the network. Higher the number, lower the priority. Lower the number, higher the priority. Emergency Services reserves 0 + 1 (please do not use these) leaving your choices to 2-9.
C.Removing the Sprint Proxy
1. With MSL in hand, go to the Phone app and dial ##3282#
2. Click Edit Mode
3. Your "Password" is your Phone's MSL, enter it here.
4. Click Advanced
5. Scroll down to RTSP/HTTP Setting
6. Change RTSP proxy IP to 0.0.0.0 or You can leave this blank if you like
7. Change RTSP proxy Port to 0 (Zero)
8. HTTP proxy IP to 0.0.0.0 or You could leave this blank if you like
9. HTTP proxy port to 0 (Zero)
10.Once complete, back out to the home screen and enjoy Downloads and a .20- .60 mbps increase in 3G speeds!
It may not hurt to verify the settings are in place by following steps 1 through 5 again, if you're OCD. Removing this proxy removes at least one or more hops in between you and your connection destination, possibly increasing your WAN connection speed via 2G/3G/4G and Wi-Fi. As always, use at your own risk and take a screen shot of your original settings.
D. Improve CDMA Call Sound Quality via a Codec Change:
There are a few important things to note. This adjustment changes the Codec used to compress the voices of you and your caller across the Cell Network using EVRC-B which is an updated revision to the current CDMA standard EVRC. It has been noted in a few places, that making this change CAN effect your ability to make outbound calls in some roaming situations, including over Network extenders like the AirRave. As always, YMMV and I STRONGLY recommend that you both test this change in your normal use environments as well as keep a general idea of these instructions handy in the event you need to revert to the default settings in an emergency. As always, YOU and YOU ALONE are FULLY responsible for changes to any handset in which these and any modifications are made.
1. With MSL in hand, go to the Phone app and dial ##3282#
2. Click Edit Mode
3. Your "Password" is your Phone's MSL, enter it here.
4. Click Advanced
5. Scroll down the list and note the entries for EVRC-B, Home Orig, and Roam Orig.
6. Change EVRC-B to "Enable"
7. Change Home Orig and Roam Orig to "EVRC-B"
8. Hit Menu, and select "Commit Modifications"
9. Your phone will prompt you to click ok to restart or it will restart automatically.
To reverse the changes, repeat all of the above steps except change the following.
6. Change EVRC-B to "Disable"
7. Change Home Orig and Roam Orig to "EVRC"
Click to learn more about EVRC and EVRC-B
4. DSS:Not sure if these really need to be messed with unless you have flashed to another carrier...
5. LTE Record Various logs and scan rates for LTE safe to adjust...
6. PDN Setting I only found one document which seemed to pertain to this Here There are 3 sub menus internet, ota, and pam (phone as modem?). If anyone knows more about this fell free to chime in. :good:
##72786# (SCTRN)
This menu contains 4 sections containing your MDN, MSID, M.IP Custom Profile1-NAI and AAA shared secret password. All of these are unique to your data profile and should never change. The ##code is used to reset these 4 items to re-provision your phone without wiping any data.
##786# (Hard Reset)
This menu contains a lot of the same info as the previous codes with a little extra. It is used for the quintessential "hard reset". This will completely wipe data/app, your internal sd, and NAM so your phone can be re-provisioned.
FAQ SECTION
Note: I do not fully understand how or why the NAM section of your phone becomes corrupt but is does. I have never had to call sprint to have them fix my data so i hope this helps.
Q. Help im stuck on 1x/2g.
Q. I just flashed your rom now i have no signal help!
Q. My data speeds really suck lately anyone else?
Note: All these fixes must be preformed on a stock or stock based rom with epst support and make sure you are in a known good signal area
A. These are all very common questions i have seen around here in the past years and are all very easy to fix... process below.
Whenever i have data issues whether it be stuck on 1x, no data/signal, or slow data, I always follow the following steps...
1. ill just do a profile update and see if that helps.
2. If that doesn't help this is my next step.
Enter Dialer
##3282#
select edit and enter MSL
select data profile
select menu and select Restore
reboot and update profile
3.Still no worky?
Enter Dialer:
##72786#
select edit and enter MSL
select menu and then Reset
After phone goes through "hands free activation" and your back at your dialer, enter this:
##3282#
select edit and enter MSL
select data profile
select menu and select Restore
After your rebooted and back at your home screen go into settings/system updates/ and update your profile.
4. This is your last step before calling sprint (which i have never had to, this has always worked for me).
THIS WILL WIPE EVERYTHING IN DATA/APP AS WELL AS YOUR INTERNAL SD! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED SO MAKE A BACKUP
Enter Dialer
##786#
select menu and select reset
enter msl and select ok
After phone goes through "hands free activation" go into settings/system updates/ and update your profile and you should be set
This guide is a WIP, and yes i know most of this information is already in some thread buried somewhere but I thought a little consolidation was in order. Maybe we can get data questions in here and there wont be 4 pages of someone trying to figure out why their data wont work in a dev thread.:good:
Also this is my first attempt at a guide...go easy on me.
Prl Information
PRL INFORMATION AND UPDATING
Thank you Digiblur for letting me kang some of your OP. I really appreciate it. Go thank this guy NAOWZ!
Take a moment and read this article before reading any further: What is a PRL?
PRL Series - Acct- Device
25xxx = Residential acct - LTE/800SMR

800 SMR Enabled PRLs/Areas

PRL Change Logs and Full Analysis' can be found on this website:
www.batonrougebroadband.info This is Digiblurs site the guy is full of info
PRL 00001, 00002, 00003, and 01337 are modded PRLs that force your phone to use Verizon's network for voice and 3G Prl 15094, 15096, 17098 are PRLs that force you to use US Cellular's network for voice and 3G. Use these for TESTING purposes only. I do not recommend or condone using them 100% of the time. You will not be able to determine when you are roaming. You won't even be able to tell if you roaming internationally!! There is a 300mb data cap and other minute based roaming caps with Sprint. Myself or this website are NOT responsible if you break your Terms of Service and get your contract terminated. Discussions about how to get your contract terminated using these non-Sprint PRLs will not be tolerated and will be deleted. If Verizon/USCC works for you and Sprint's service does not, then you need purchase Verizon/USCC service.
Common PRL Myths
1. A PRL is not a list of towers. It's a list of cell phone systems that your phone searches for.
2. It will not make your phone connect to different Sprint 3G towers.
3. It will not give you better Sprint PCS band 3G or 1X coverage.
4. It will not give you better LTE coverage.
5. An update is not required for new cellular sites.
6. The only time a PRL update will give you better native Sprint coverage is when 800mhz SMR (BC10) support is added and enabled in your area.
7. You can not use AT&T, VZW, or US Cellular LTE with a use of a different PRL
8. Don't believe the nonsense and lies that a Sprint rep will tell you about PRLs (they were never trained on PRLs and only go by rumors and hearsay instead of facts)
Prl updating without a pc.
NOTE: This will only work on sense roms with epst support.
On device prl update is now possible. I would like to thank rulingczar for some help looking in the right place. All you have to do is edit 1 line in build.prop.
How to change the build.prop:
There are a few ways to change build.prop. The easiest imo is to use an app like kernel tuner to change it. KT even has a nice backup and restore option. You could also take your favorite file explorer and navigate to /system and open build.prop as text and edit there. If you are adb savvy then you could pull the file, edit it with a program like notepad++, and push it back to your device with proper permissions.

ro.build.type dev
1 .Reboot and let the system fully load (or there will be lag in Epst) and enter dialer.
2. Enter ##778# and choose edit. Enter MSL and choose prl.
3. Select update prl and select a prl from your sd card.
4. Select menu in the upper right corner and commit modifications.
5. Epst will reboot the device and the prl should be applied.
6. It is always a good idea to update your profile after a prl change. Enjoy!

That I do not know. I don't have an air rave to test on... It's a long shot but maybe e mail the manufacturer and see what they say.

I was gonna mention this but didn't know where but when you sign up for sprint they give you your msl aka your spc aka your unlock code when you activate your phone.

They also give it to you in an email if you do an esn swap (change phones) online. They also give directions how to program your phone in the e mail. They like to refer to it as "a six digit number" lol.

As I recall, going into the individual PDN items on that list while in edit mode will delete individual entries if they are accidentally selected and no info in entered in the field ie you select the field to edit and you can't cancel out to get the data previously populated in that field.
Has anyone successfully backed up and restored CDMA "APN"s? Even looking under the hidden function "CDMA APNs" shows no actual APNs in the traditional GSM sense.
They aren't kept in the apns Conf. Look in mms_config.xml in the mms.apk.
There is a program that can decompile apks to actual source code not smali. I would like to have a look through the epst.apk and see how it works. May be able to get more features.

That would be awesome, im just a union electrician, and dont know too much about java... Speaking of more features im attaching a copy of epst from android 2.1 eclair. It had the feature to change prl's on the fly via handset ##PRL#. It was ported to 2.2 and 2.3. I dont think anyone really tried to get it going on ICS which would be very nice. I would definitely appreciate if anyone got it to work...
Well on the fly prl changing is once again possible on the info bar rom by newtoroot
This is on a us cellular prl.
Here is the epst apk:http://db.tt/Lghf8UVb
I haven't been able to get it to work but I only tried on viper rom. I'll try more later tonight...
Edit: forgot to mention the code is ##778# then enter your msl.
