Hello,
I use a Sony Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) running 2.3.4 (4.0.2.A.0.38). I have been using an iPhone and Symbian Nokia before and new to Android Development.
I would love it if anybody just help me out by giving a step-by-step guide. From sq. 1 on how to install the Hybrom v4 on my device.
Now mind you, I have no clue about bootloaders or CWM or anything. I'm just willing to take the risk. Just need a complete step by step instruction guide on it.
I'm sure many have asked this question.. But I don't have enough time to go through each posts..
I hope I'm linked to some good source pretty soon..
Thanks
use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350 this method to root first

willing to take a risk is not enough ..... you need to know what u need & what you do, at least the basic thing ... ( actualy there is no risk if u know what u doing ... )

Hi Guys, can you please help me updating my Samsung Fascinate Verizon phone, it's currently running @
Firmware version : 2.1-update1
Basband version : S:i500.04 V.EA28

I really need help badly, since i'm not located in US, and everytime i try to update it, it says Check for software update when service is available.
but i can't get the service since it's a verizon phone and im not in use, and it's not activated anymore, i'm just bypassing the activation screen by pressing *83786633..
Please help me update the phone w/ the complete instruction, i want to have at least 2.2, so that many apps would work cause lot of apps work w/ 2.2 or higher.
Please someone help me, i really don't know what to do and i'm having a hard time understanding the forum post since im not that aware w/ the abbrivation thats being used.
Help me please.
Thanks a lot.

- also i tried kies but phone it self does not have kies option im so out now idk what to do.
Why can't you just use droidstyles guide on here. I don't think you need anyone to walk you through it step by step when he has already done that .
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
and dont forget to look at jawmans noob glossary aswell.
Are you rooted?
@droidstyle i saw your post. so neat. i was about to try it, but im not sure which one should i do first, since your instruction is like for those who have 2.2 or froyo, i only have 2.1(eclair), i want to get atleast froyo for now, or maybe ginger bread but i dont know which one should i use first?
i saw your psot in this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070
please response..
You can use any of sections 1,2,3, or 4 as it doesn't matter what you start with but rather what you want to end up with. For example, if you want to end up on Ice Cream Sandwich (newest OS) use section4. If you want EH03 Touchwiz Gingerbread (last version officially release by Samsung) then use section 2.
Again, use the section that says the ROM you want your phone to run. They aren't meant to be followed in sequence. Just choose the section that names the ROM you want to end up on.
Follow the steps word for word. I have a feeling English may be your second language, though you do speak it very well. This guide puts the steps in very simple terms. If you don't understand you probably should seek a guide in your native language or someone who can translate for you.
Best of luck.
step 5 actually worked fine, i tried the froyo 1. thanks droidstyle
i actually want to ask some follow up question..
Does android phone have adobe flash player, cant find it in store, but it is a required file to run some applications.
Also i want to ask your honest opinion guys, which among this software should i use? which is stable have long battery life and good for games. as of right now im using the froyo that can be found in Section 5.
Last question, is there a way to download apps, for free instead, i mean full version for free, cause i tried using my CC and it's not working wonder why.. its always declined.
Thanks so much anyway for all the answers i got from you guys. appreciate it so much.. kindly answer my other questions please Thankyou so much
-- Also i want to ask, cause i really can't understand the advantage of having the phone rooted or what. kindly please tell me the advantage please if you have time.. appreciate it so much!!! rock on!!

You should create a nandroid backup as soon as you finish a good enough config as a base line to return to.

Try to google for "blackmart", it'll let you install anything even things which should never be installed hence the need for nandroid backup.

A rooted phone let you have more options to decide what you want to do to your phone. For example Droidwall only works on rooted phone, the firewall will let you block all apps which wanted net access for ads which nearly all of them do and bogged down your data bandwidth if too many of them were installed.
So hello there community,I am new here and yes I know that there was somebody already who asked a famously question how to root a phone????So i am asking the same question because i am a completely noob about rooting a phone so I am asking you to post the original thread of step by step rooting a phone.BTW my phone is Sony Xperia S Lt26i runing ICS 4.0.4.Yep and one more noob question Can i possibly just root my phone but without changing rom i want to stay the original one from the factory,i am asking this because it seems to be the most stable rom...And if it cannot I am asking you guys to give me some good stable rom with all functions working for Sony Xperia S....Thanks in advance hope you can help me with this guys....

. Sorrt if i m eing stuoid but i really dont wanna brick my new device :/ thanks
Then read the basics first 30 seconds does not give you any knowledge .
Use CF root from development is probably the simplest method if you follow the instructions .But i fail to see why you want to root a device when you dont even know what root is .

I read it all, i know what rooting is about, i wanna root, but at the sametime i dont wanna brick my device! I want adocker, titanium backup
Thank you for ur time
if you read it all, then you already know how to root, and that you posted in the wrong section
Its like we should beg you for little help?? EXCUSE ME if i posted in the wrong section its not a big deaal! I thought it was a site for helping noobs like me sorry for bothering u but i expected more help from u guys..
You have all needed help in the threads that were outlined for you. Read and make. That's all. We won't write for the 123456th time things already present everywhere on the internet. I personally used Samsung s3 toolkit that you can find in original android dev stickies thread.
I just followed what is written.
Noone is going to spoonfeed you, go read it yourself like we all did
I'm new to the whole Android OS, and I recently bought an Xperia X10 Mini, but unfortunately it runs only Eclair 2.1 which doesn't support some apps I'd like to have, so I want to upgrade it to 4.1.2 but I have no idea how to do it. I can't find a proper tutorial anywhere, and I really don't want to brick my phone, so if please someone can post a nice tutorial it would be really appreciated, thanks in advance.
P.S. I'm sorry if there's another thread about this, I couldn't find it and I can't post in a dev thread because I'm a new member.

Most TUTs are the same for all ROMs.
Here i made one for SEMC Debrand, but you can follow same steps for any JB-ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859114
Instead of GB-kernel, use JB-kernel as described for specific JB-ROM.
You can disregard the part of backup old data in phone if it's synced to a Google Account.
