Yep, yep! When I first got the View on Monday I originally thought there was a problem with my internet connection, then I started to suspect an issue with the app itself. Good times now though!
Though it's a smidgen less useful since the geniuses over at HBO decided to cancel Hung, Bored to Death and How to Make it in America yet kept the show with the lowest ratings, Enlightened.

Care to share your account?. Some of us poor folk, ok cheap folk, don't have HBO, Showtime or cabletv for that matter.

Doesn't work if you're on honeycomb. Device not supported.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P512 using Tapatalk

OMG BFFs!!! Now we can watch the same 4 flicks that they have on HBO Cable over and over repeatedly.............. OMG OMG !!!!
This actually belongs in the apps section, but ok.
HBO GO® is only accessible in the US.... your HC Flyer thinks it is a UK Model P510e. Otherwise it will work. Have someone give you the apk.

Or we can watch entire hbo series start to finish. Wtf???

Let us know if it works after you upgrade to honeycomb, if it does I wonder if it's build prop related.

Actually on further reading , it is not compatible with any Honeycomb device. Good job HBO almost as advanced as your media content from the late 70s.........

Don;t bother, I installed it on the FLyer HC and the Asus Transformer. Not compaible with HC on any device. Its not build prop related.
HBO just is not very hot at development.

Thanks! Well at least I now have a reason to wait a bit longer for the official honeycomb update. Maybe I'll get lucky and HBO will update the app for HoneyComb near the same time as HTC releases HoneyComb for the WiFi Flyer.

I would not wait for either. Do the update from the forum and enjoy HC and blow off HBO. Just DLNA your video over from you PC.

Guess I did not lick out, the HC update is availed, but HBO GO for HC is nowhere to be seen. However, experimenting with my girlfriend's Acer Iconia A500 HC tablet I've realized that HBO GO works well enough in the browser.
Has anyone tried HBO GO in the HC stock browser with the UA set to desktop? My gut tells me that the Flyer wont be able to handle the video feed as even the iconia choked when broadband allowed for the highest def streams. But any word would be much appreciated.

[Q] Netflix App

hi all I was just curious if anyone knows if the new Netflix app is working on the Thunderbolt or not. I assume it would but the thunderbolt is not listed on the netflix web site as a supported phone for this app, even though 3 other HTC phones are listed and are older tech than the Thunderbolt. I tried to install it but they want me to start an account with them first and I'm not opening a Netflix account unless I know for sure this will work on My thunderbolt. I'd appreciate any information anyone has on this,.. thanks!!
there are hacked netflix APKs out there that work on the thunderbolt
I thought it was only working for cm7?

You are correct.
I appreciate that,.. now next,,, 4 things,..
1. what's the best way to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
2. how do I install a ROM, never done so before
3. can someone link me the cyanogen mod 7 forum where I can download the files for it
4. Can someone link me where to get the APK that works with Cyanogen mod7 for Netflix?
oh and 5th... thanks!
what about netflix for virusrom? ......i'd post it there, but I'm not allowed to post in development pages being a new user and all...

The Netflix app will not work with any ROMs based off the official Thunderbolt RUUs as of now.
I was so mad when my boyfriend's Incredible would stream Netflix, and my newer Thunderbolt WON'T. He doesn't even use his phone. He fixed it so he can use wireless tethering..and uses his ipod touch! That's what made me so pissed off about it. I actually want to be able to watch Netflix on mine! Maybe one day soon =(
yeah This fairly well annoys me as well.. I purposefully bought the highest end phone I could find with the latest technology and it can't run the netflix app while the older models can,.. sounds kinda backasswards to me... really bugs me
Would love to have this working. Til then I guess I'll just have to use it on my DX

If you are rooted you can trick the app into thinking you are using one of the phones that are listed. I think i read about the trick on android central if i find the link i will post it.

Don't think so, so far its only working if your running CM7 I believe.
Has anyone on here used CM7? I loaded it one day and nothing really worked on it. I couldn't get on the internet or anything... sounds like to a waste to run CM7 just to use netflix
Netflix does work on cm7 and will be supported on the thunderbolt soon. The reason why it wasn't initially is because the phone is new and Netflix didn't have time to test it on our devices. Just give it some time and you all will be rewarded.

My understanding is that they are waiting til after the Revolution comes out to activate it for LTE phones. Its one of the selling points of the Revolution so it will probably be exclusive to that for a month or so. Just speculating though.

So i just checked for the hell of it. Downloaded Netflix from Android market.

BUT IT WORKS!
I can't see HTC supporting Netflix on the Flyer as it would render their Watch app useless.
I'm sure the view has watch too. It works on view

This sounds too good to be true, but maybe u could give us some more info. Specifically, what version is ur flyer on, did u get the update. Is yours s-off? Did u root it? Are u using a market enabler? Cuz I have no update or root and dnt see the netflix app in my market at all... Just a bunch of crap. If its works can u plz post which netflix app ur using here so we can see if it works on our WiFi only flyers?
In the thread below, someone posted the APK intended for the View in their Dropbox. A Flyer owner apparently tried it, and it doesn't work. So apparently, Netflix is differentiating between the Flyer and the View. The Dropbox link gave me a 404 error, so I couldn't try it myself.

02 Nov - Honeycomb updated leak 3.41.405.1

Just a heads up that I updated my Honeycomb Leak Install guide to cover a new leak I have managed to get my hands on, version 3.41.405.1.
Full details can be found in this topic.
Unfortunately you will need to roll back to Gingerbread in order to install it.

So if we have a bestbuy flyer that can't rollback to gingerbread, then we won't be able to upgrade correct?

Ok, I may be barking at the wind here but, is there a way to flash the required components thru fast boot commands (I am not sure if this can be done on the Flyer like it can on the Dell Streak 5) where you would use fast boot commands to flash the individual extracted components, base rom, recovery, radio, etc similar to adb. (since there is currently no proper method for US BB WiFi Flyers to revert to GB)
Cheers

Agreed, people are working on this (Including Paul) I have no doubt that the issues will be figured out and we will get past the current problems. In the meantime, we discuss and help where possible. There is even talk of a possible hybrid version. Bottom line, this will get figured out.

Hey, I've seen you around the Inc2 forums. If you are looking for custom roms, I would recommend the cool3d rom, the dev is similar to newt in that he optimizes for performance. Very fast, very stable. I just installed doomlord's new kernel. Works so far, but I'm waiting to see how it fares for battery life.
Edit: May have spoke too soon. Leedroid is dropping a new update soon that apparently has working soft keys again =O He also says he improved the battery life. I will definitely be checking that out.

What Google TV device should I get?

What's the best Google tv out there? Something around under 150$. I been looking but I start reading the reviews and I get squeamish.
I looked at the new Asus cube, it looks great but I don't need that many useless features. I also checked Vizio Co star. But it has some annoying bugs.
I also want the latest generation.

Ok, sounds like the traditional issues people have with Google TV. I already ordered the Asus Cube instead of the VIZIO Co-Star (or the expensive Sony Internet Player). My only hope is that I'm able to install Tunnelbear from the play store, or install the APK from dropbox or an external source in order to get US content, if not, I'll find a use for it.
Thanks for the quick feedback.

i have had the logitech revue for close to a year, but the repeated app crashes (netflix is the worst) are so annoying. the sluggishness of the entire device is also very annoying. why they stuck so little memory and such a poor processor into it is beyond me.
