I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi only and am looking at putting a custom rom on it but they advise people to put it on the SD card and run the rom from there but there is no slot for an SD card? Am I not seeing the slot or are people purchasing the adapter. If they are getting an adapter which one is recommended?
They just mean to use the inbuilt storage, you'll need to copy the Rom you want to flash to your tablet from your pc then turn it off boot into recovery and flash the Rom
there's loadsa guides on here about doing this and most devs (all devs really) post flashing instructions on their Rom threads
ah..ok that makes more sense now.

lol i dont know how to move it except just post new thread there
Sounds like you need a new SD card. Some of the stock cards don't play well with MTD based ROMs. I would probably get a Class 10 microSD card (be careful if you get 32gb, there are known problems with some of them)
I bought http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-microSDHC-Class-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0058GH4U0/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1335980268&sr=8-12 and have had no problems at all after!
You are flashing the THS build 2 first right? You have to flash that rom, then reboot to recovery by holding down the power button wile your in the OS and select the recovery option after that you'll be in a compatible version of CWM. Flash AOKP M5 from there.

buy a class6 or higher sd card and your issue will be solved.
As I said in my other post:
Sounds like you need a new SD card. Some of the stock cards don't play well with MTD based ROMs. I think it's a speed issue, and MTD based roms assume cards are at least a certain speed. thanks everyone for replying...i might have to just upgrade to a different card and see if that will solve the problem.

every since switching to a class 10 card, i have had no mounting issues or sd card damage errors since. my device also seems to be more tolerant of dirty flashing, before i had to always wipe data...also the phone seems faster loading apps, pictures etc.

As the title says--my phone won't detect any SD card! I have 3 which I have tried. A 2gb, 4gb, and 16gb. With each of these, I've formatted them to every option available on my computer (exFAT, FAT32, NTFS), and still no SD card will show up on my phone. The cards do work on my computer. I can transfer data to and from every card.
I guess I should add that I did not try any sd cards in my phone before rooting and installing HyperdriveOTA custom rom, so I don't know if the ROM or rooting is part of the problem.
Any help is very much appreciated.. hope I don't have a faulty phone!

I am having trouble with this as well. Mine actually just unexpectedly unmounted. I reboot to it not being read. I used the phone to format it, si shouldn't be that.
I loaded it into my old DROID incredible and it read just fine. After moving it back it reads again for a few minutes before unmounting again.
It's the stock kernel in my current setup as well so I think the phone or card are messed up. More the phone, may return and wait for the HTC one announcement, and not have to worry about it.
It's a lexar 16gb which worked fine in my old phone and unmounted after a week with stable setup. The contact points are clean as can be as well.

Flashing stock got it back but still not confident what the problem was. Still thinking of trying to get a new unit. Others have not reported the problem enough for me to think it's a rom issue. Add in the delayed response I still think it's hardware related

Hello guys I'm new to this forum. I decided to register on XDAD because of a recent accident I had.
So my phone is a Moto G 3rd Gen updated to Marshmallow 6.0.1 as I recall before I had the accident.
I had set my micro SD Card for Internal Storage Use (Class 10 32gb Samsung)
2 days before I tried to install Hearthstone using the APK Provided from hearthstoneapk.com I think it's called.
After finishing the installation the device kinda stuck and didn't work properly. Fore example I couldn't scroll from top to bottom to have the options displayed and the home buttong wasn't responding.
I restarted the device 2-3 times and the problem was still there. And there was the accident! I stupidly forgot that I had set my micro SD as an internal storage so I took it out and did a factory reset (I had already done that another time when my SD wasn't set as internal) After that I inserted my SD back and obviously I couldn't access my files from my Phone or my computer. Since then I've left my SD Card in my phone while it's demanding a format for it to be used again.
Haven't done that yet because I'm scared it will be the end of it.
The only thing I want to recover from the SD are the photos and videos because they're the only things I can't get back after I reformat my SD Card.
Is there any software or anything I could do to get AT LEAST my photos back?
Don't start hating me for not backing up my files , I know it's stupid and I regret it from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks in advance!!
