SPB have officially announced the tablet support for their launcher today. Here is the small youtube video that I have made for SBP running on HP Tablet

it's a app you can use to set up "hubs" it allows you to put a different wallpaper on each screen. Just trying to find out if SPB will work with this app
No, it does not seem to work well with multi-Picture live wallpaper app. It keeps on displaying the picture is unavailable error.

Not a chance, I've been doing great with ADWLauncher Ex. Have had it since Alpha 1 and its great, VTL Launcher is good also.
Both less than €2.50!!

Should definitely have more functionality for a 14.99 launcher, but saying 'just flashy' does not do the justice.

Looks good on my phone too!!
The wallpapers are cropped, anyone know the proper resolution?
I've used all the launchers on my android devices. Even MIUI is basically a launcher on steroids. And let's face it launchers are mostly eye candy but can also make your device easier and more pleasant to use. That being said SPB is really really nice. Looks real good on my Galaxy Nexus and I like the tablet version on the TP a lot. Expensive, yes but if you have $15.00 to waste I don't think you'll be disappointed. If the developer can provide value by continued updates and added features it will be worth the money.

can actually use multi-live wallpapers...but first you have to enable live wallpapers in the settings, and after that the performance is -bad- partly cuz it force closes everytime i'd like to change screens and it gets very stuttery....to be fair a pop-up warning does show up explaining the performance goes down, but hey ho we all like to have live wallpapers of some sort.

anybody please tell me how to get iphone like screen rotation transition effects in xperia x10?
i want smooth rotation in xperia x10 like iphone does
Try ADW Launcher EX (paid), LauncherPro Plus (paid) or Go Launcher EX (free). They all have smooth transitions between the screens, very fluid. You can customize the speed and type of transition animation as well.
Don't use Live Wallpapers, sometimes they may cause some lag.
If you're still not satisfied, wait until custom kernels are out and you can try these transitions without any FPS limitation
get an Iphone four...you need an iphone four..!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSAVEl_RU8o
Once the new custom kernels are released with the FPS cap removed, screen transitions and other animations will be as smooth or even smoother than the iPhone's. I suggest waiting, jerpelea is working hard his own, as well as zdzihu.
Guys please read.
He is talking about the iPhone/iPod screen ROTATING effect with the accelerometer. (Landscape/vertical) He wants that (I also want that if possible in the future)

I think I also saw that on some Android devices. Does anyone know which devices feature these transitions? We could try to port them... or, more specifically, ask the devs to do the work

Not that its much help now, but android 1.5 devices where capable of doing this with the help of the spare parts app. This feature has since been removed though. I would speculate that the version of android for smart phones that comes after gingerbread might have it natively being as it occurs in honeycomb running tablets as far as I'm aware.

Yeah probably the best way is to use a 3rd party launcher and if it doesn't support it (like ADW EX which I use) ask the dev to impliment it.

Again, he's not talking about transitions between the different homescreens, he talks about the transition from portrait to landscape mode (if you TURN your phone to one side).
And neither ADW Ex nor LPP animate this.

APK is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048959
I doubted that this would work, but it kind of does - I am running CM7 nightly 55 with 1.3ghz oc
I simply installed the live wallpaper with a file manager and it runs, the water works and everything, but the images of the ice cubes and the bubbles are just white squares. Maybe someone else knows how to do this? There are two APKs in that thread, one is signed and one is unsigned. The MyWater.apk does not install, the MyWater_signed.apk will install.
I know this is a honeycomb live wallpaper, but it works this far, can we get it working all the way?
Also, I my screenshot app sucks, I just installed one real quick
Cool, it would be great if someone could get this to work.

I just extracted it and had a look...it's a Honeycomb widget...that sucks, cause honeycomb kinda blows, but I think it'll work on a Nook with the sdk version of honeycomb...I've got it installed on another Nook...charging now...I'll let you know in a little bit whether It works or not....btw, Animated Weather widget from the Market beats pretty much anything I've ever seen.....(If you're into weather that much....)
EDIT....It is recognized by nook running Honeycomb....it tries to install it, but there are too many system calls for Asus to simply change a permission or a line in one file to get this going without de/recompiling it, and frankly, it's beyond my ability ..Good luck, though...

Hi mike, can you share your expeience on ADW or Launcherpro?
Does the font on ADW bigger than sense? Smoother? Any screenshot to share?
Did you use clock from Fancy widget? Thanks.
I can't talk about adw, but I am using launcher pro on mine. So far I'm really loving it. It's just as fast and responsive as sense if not more so. It makes better use of the screen with smaller icons, and more compact layout in the app drawer. On top of that, the pen still works in the few places that it worked before (albeit there are only few places that it does work -_-)
There is little difference between adw and launcher pro on my book so I'd expect them to perform similarly on the flyer as well, bit if nobody has tried by tomorrow I'll install it and give it a try.

I tried the LP on my HD2_SD_Android with sense build, there is no performance different on LP with CM build. But those apps that from sense (eg SMS) with small font will still be in small font. I was hoping it will change the font size when in LP but it actaully doesn't.

Sorry mate
Neither I use Spare part nor change the LCD density because I havent rooted my Flyer
(I understand that the LCD density can be changed via build.prop, but you will need Root Explorer, and to use Root Explorer, you need to root it, unless there is other way to do that)

Thanks for the advise, I will continue to hold my purchase decision until it get rooted. If not, I may switch to Samsung 8.9" when launch, or even Huawei Mediapad (the spec is very attractive. 7", 1.2GHz DC...) or may be SGT 7" (I played it at one of the shop yesterday and kind of like it though the speed doesn't seem to meeting 1GHz expectation but good enough and I read that this is 2nd genration of 7" SGT)
ok, if your like me then your looking to replace the stock launcher on a daily basis but have yet to do so because they all run with a degree of lag. (except tw)
Well good news!
There is another launcher i found to work very well with the galaxy note and it is called "aShell" - It's based off of ADW
It has a lot of similar features....... heck.... it looks strikingly similar.... almost a clone! I found it to use less memory and it is almost lag-free (i have widgets all over the place on 6 homescreens, btw). Plus it has quite a few features that ADW doesn't have ...... oh, and use the "scatter" transition - it's pretty neat.
Anyway, give the dam thing a try!
************EDIT********
Go Launcher 2.81 is available on the market. I suggest everyone try it. I am running the V6 Supercharger 1000hp setting with Go and it's the best so far... runs almost perfect on my note... with 6 homescreens full of widgets. GIVE it a.... GO

will def try this out......
Edit: i still noticed lag in the app drawer.
adw ex didnt have that. im using go launcher right now, just switched from Spb shell. and will give this one a full test for a couple days and see if i can get ti run smoothly for me.
thanks for posting it up, im always looking for new launchers.
likewise... the launcher is the alpha-omega of the android experience in my opinion.
I've posted feedback to the developer with regards to the app drawer - I believe the launcher is still in the alpha stages, but it has a lot of potential.
I like the different features like the dock icons... if you drag each one of them up they pull up something different... like the phone pulls up the photo contacts and such.. These guys are definitely thinking differently.
yeah, some cool features.....
does it support vertical app drawer scrolling? I didn't see it. But I am at work so I am looking quickly and trying to be productive.

Although, I don't see this particular launcher in my market, I can see it on market.android.com but not on my phone.

Trials are pointless because you can download the cracked app or crack the app and install it (like SPB Crack) for free.
I have done this with apps like widget locker, but when i found myself using them all the time i purchased it. That's my way of weeding out the bull$hit... "create-a-trial" lol

I haven't tried nemus.... (might install and give it a go)
didn't like nemus....I am a launcher whore and I usually try them out as soon as I see them.
I'm not paying 17 bucks for something I can only test drive for less than 30 minutes. How the h*ll are you suppose to evaluate it in 15 minutes? Maybe if you are hopped up on speed, redbull or something, but most people can't evaluate it
in 15 minutes.
I don't go for cracked software, but I might just to see how it works for a day or two. If I like it, I'll buy it, but most likely it will end up being removed and forgotten.

No grid alignment for icons they stay where you put them, Lasso tool for arranging icons ala Bumptop Style. Loads of sweet screen transisitons like roller-Icons that is just soooo slick. The special animated widgets that add a bit of style to your screen.
To me it's more than just a launcher its a full desktop replacement with it's own language for interacting with your device.
I like to think of it as how Windows 8 would of turned out if Microsoft had been using it's brain!

Absolutely no offence against TSF (as it REALLY is a nice programmed launcher and I deeply respect such works!!), but what you just summed up was my experience as well...being just "cosmetic" stuff without any added value compared to my nova launcher. Some might love such stuff, for me it is just way too expensive for just having "roller-Icons" or "special animated widgets".
Not my stuff at all
i really like the animation and feature, but 1 only issue.. i can't find the option to change height and width margin on the apps drawer? all i can find is only changing the rows and column.. it looks messy from what i saw.. any solution guys?
