Hey guys, just wanted to say I am new to the ATT Galaxy SII and WOW what a great device! I started flashing roms back on the og EVO with Sprint and recently switched to ATT. I started with the Atrix 2 which was a good device but had no dev support to speak of. I swapped it out for the SGSII and the dev support is amazing! Not to mention how powerful and sleek the device is in general. Sorry to bore you all but just wanted to say im new in this forum but it seems great
Thanks to all of the developers who work so hard to provide such great variety of roms and such.
Welcome! Have fun
Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

I want to start out by saying thanks for all the great info everyone on the forums has posted as it swayed me towards the photon. I was torn on waiting for the GSII

I know there have been a few post like this so i thought i would make a permanent place for people to say goodbye (even tho i am sure it will get lost). I am moving on to a better phone i will still be here in the optimus forum to maybe give help and answer questions and i gave the phone to my girl so i can still flash ROMs for her.
I really just wanted to say goodbye to the Optimus community this was my first android phone and you guys taught me everything i know and i will always remember it thank you.

Its in my signature the HTC sensation 4G it is an awesome phone i wanted the Samsung Galaxy s2 but the T-Mobile version is different from the original and although was given a upgraded 1.5 dual core possessor the development for the phone is week and nothing but themed ROMs so i didnt want it this one has official Cyanogen MOD support a working ICS ROM and a lot of development
The developers ?? This makes all the difference on a device, the skyrocket has finally taken off. How long do you guys think it will take for the note ? Or will it not be embraced by the developers ?? I can't wait to get this monster again only been a week since i sold my n7000 and it feels like its been months

The great thing about XDA is the fact that there are varying degrees of talent here. From those with their first android device, to others who build custom roms. There is even support here for beginners to learn from those more experienced. The responsibility of creating development falls on the community, not just specific individuals in my opinion. As soon as the full rom dump is posted somewhere I would love to try rooting it. Then creating a mod to make it easier for others.
In short, give it time. People willing to work on it will come.
Keep in mind the people that will be moving to the Note.
Biggest groups:
-Dell Streak owners
-HTC Aria owners
-Samsung Captivate owners (just take a look at their dev community)
-a lot of Atrix owners seem to be moving over
I have faith that we'll have a robust dev community very soon. I'm trying to get into developing myself but it's a bit of a learning curve and I have a pretty busy personal life

I agree, many waited on the nest "big" thing
can't wait to see what the devs do with this phone
Dman one of the best Infuse developers is picking up a note.
I think we will be in good shape on the development of great roms.

I don't know about the dell streak devs. Most of the good ones are from the UK or Ukraine . So I don't see many coming from dell streak. Fards has the note but UK version. DJ Steve said he will never buy a Samsung and nop is part of the DSC club.

The device itself is still new. The only real devices that have amazing devs right off the bat are the Galaxy S phones and the Nexus line.
And who is the Infuse dev coming over to the Note?
I would help donate money to help pay for a Note for a dev if needed. Did that for the Atrix and Transformer

DMan stated that he has ordered one. I am running his ROM Zeus on
my Infuse.

+1 ...we should find a capable dev, start a thread to collect donations and buy him AT&T Note. The only difficulty I see with that plan is that AT&T Note is not available off contract and one would have to marry AT&T for 2 years.
I would *love* to get this guy to develop for Note community, and would have no problem donating something like $50 to get the ball rolling.
I vote for DesignGears
It's available off contract on premiers website

Not that I've heard.
Was with AT&T and did great things for the Captivate. Talked about switching to Verizon. But I think he's still developing for the S2 on AT&T.
Most recently made an ICS kernel for the Captivate.
Hangs out on RootzWiki.

Well your work looks awesome. We'd love to have you here.
When there's a market for second hand Notes or something, we might be able to help you out.
Hey guys, I'm about to trade this phone for an HTC Sensation 4G and I figured I'd ask you guys about this phone before I do it (since you own it). I know the hardware upgrades (RAM, processing power, NFC, and connection speed), but how good is the development? I saw there were a lot of ROMs available, which is good, but what are you guys thoughts? Good? Bad? Worth the change? It seems like a definite upgrade, but as usual users may have different opinions. Thanks in advance for the advice!
*Sighs*, I'll do it before anyone else does since it might not be as nice, WRONG FORUM DUDE, lol.
IMO it's a great upgrade from the sensation, but as I always say, everything is down to personal preference, ROM wise, we have some great devs that produce great roms, I've yet to hear of any complaints that we couldn't resolve or of any bricks (well people panic and call it a brick when it's not), that we couldn't fix.
Development is slower, for the amaze but that aside its a better phone I enjoy the amaze more then I did my sensation, especially the camera and added storage because I have lots of music.

Yeah sorry about the wrong forum, didn't know. But thanks for some of the input!
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
No worries if a mod needs to move it they will bottom line if u don't need to flash a new Rom everyday then your good to go with the amaze as long as you enjoy sense, the Roms we have are great and the devs are working for sense 4.0 and CM9
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
As soon as we have the complete source from HTC the ROMS will rapidly expand and currently it's booming, just that it'll be way more easier on devs to get more roms out for us.
Amaze is what sensation should've been from the get-go. I went from sensation to amaze as well. No regrets here. Picked up one s and messed with it for a day, before deciding to re-sell it and stay with amaze
No.

Instead of creating this thread (in the wrong section btw), you could have just checked out the Sensation develolpment thread to check dev support for this device.
15 people could tell you its a great phone, and to get it, but it really comes down to what you like. YouTube is a great resource for answers to questions like this. Lisa, over at MobileTechReview does a great job at revieeing. Its wirth a looky loo.
I'm closing this thread only because there is already tons of information available to you. Soend a little time researching. The information you're looking for is right at your fingertips. Not to mention all question related threads belong in Q&A.
Thread Closed.

Nine months before I was born, my dad took me to a party where he met my mom and took her home.
Brought to you courtesy of my Galaxy Note (i717), using XDA Premium.
I am a fairly new member here and I must say that I love this place. This has been the most useful site I have ever come across, concerning things android. Tinkering with electronics and computers has been one of the things that came naturally to me and so getting my first android was pretty exciting as I've never cared for iOS or Blackberry platforms. I have always been interested in Linux, which probably helped in my decision to go with android ( price also played a factor lol ). My first android was an INQ Cloud Touch, which I immediately rooted, installed busy box and ROM toolbox. Nice phone, but sadly it was also my first and only hard brick. lol. A twitchy thumb and system files = a bad thing. Replacement phone was the HTC Status ( chacha ) which I couldn't get the bootloader unlocked ( did eventually thanks to xda, now running CM9 ). So I went looking for another phone and stumbled on the Samsung Galaxy Ace and fell in love with it. Thanks to these forums the Ace was the first phone I rooted and installed a custom rom on. It is also the one that I've gotten brave enough to try a few different scripts on to extend the internal memory.
My sincere thanks for all the developers here, and for the members willing to offer any help. This is the site I have been recommending to anyone I know who have expressed an interest in improving thier android experience. A little knowledge, some curiosity and a willingness to try anything, can be a great thing...unless you brick your phone, then experience is a teacher as well. lol.
Thanx again.
the ace is a nice phone with lots of dev support
