I am trying to remove an app. CyanX. When I go to settings to remove it doesn't uninstall. When I use titanium it says uninstalled but it comes back on the list. But it shows in my app drawer and when I click on it, it says force close. Any way to remove it?

You could try deleting it from it's location - system/app.

The thing is everybody is talking about downgrading to a .42 or .58 firmware version, then root the phone and update it to .62 without losing the root. But I already installed apps and removed some system apps that I don't need, so ovbiously I have problems when I try to update via OTA. So, I decided I will stay with my .58 fw version, without updating it, maybe until the ICS update comes out. But every single time I connect the update notification appears there in the status bar and I wanna get rid of it. I know if you go to Manage Applications--Update center--Clear data, the notification quits, but then it appears again when I connect again. So I wanna know if there is a way to get rid of this notification so it doesn't appear anymore.
Maybe the Update Center app can be freezed? Or will that make the phone get problems or something? :/
Yes,you can freeze it using titanium backup.
Or use root explorer to copy UpdateCenter.apk to SD card and then delete it from system/app/.If you want to do OTA update, just remove it back.

Ok, thanks for your answer. What I did was frozen it using Link2SD, and now it doesn't appear anymore!

Yeah, but if I remove it, I'm afraid I would not be able to install the ICS update!

thanks. will try it
Root ur phone..then install the attached apk of SYSTEM APP REMOVER..make a backup of update centre..then uninstall it using this application..have fun bro
an easier method would have been to blacklist Update Center against connecting to the internet, using Droidwall, and then clear the data from application settings!
Naah.
All you need to do is freeze updatecenter.apk using link2sd and restart your phone.
No need to remove it or whatever

There are many solution for it :
Target=/system/app/UpdateCenter.apk
1. Manualy delete target using root explorer
2. Set target premissions to 000
3. Use app like titanium or system app remover to uninstall target

Clear data first, go to manage applications, then update center, clear data, then freeze it with link2sd or titanium, is the same. So far and the notification hasn't appear yet!

CAN ANYONE TELL ME THAT HOW TO MAKE AN DOWNLOADED APP PERMANENT.. LIKE PRE-INSTALLED APP ON PHONE??
Open Titanium Backup. Tap and hold on the app and select 'Convert to system app'.
With a root explorer you can also move the app to /system/app and put the correct permissions.

hi guys,,
I have a problem here...so here it is..
I wanted to install titanium backup but I could do it, it says I didn't have enough storage. Of course, I have more than enough. So, use root explorer, go to system/data/app/ and search for a file with titanium backup odex extension and want to delete it., but the strange thing is I can't find any titanium backup odex..
so what should I do?
Apps you install go to /data/app and there is no odex file. Thats only for system apps.

Hello,
I have tried removing as much bloatware as I could, I am using the rom Omega 16.1 which is great.
My only problem so far is I can't seem to remove Google Movie Plays. I tried titanium backup and root uninstaller, but it still won't uninstall this app.
Any ideas on how to fully remove it?
Thanks!
Delete the app from System/Apps folder .

Nevermind, seems to have worked now using Titanium Backup!
Thanks. :good:
I installed the modded playstore on my Stock Galaxy S4 ROM so I could disable self-updates, but it didn't work. When I went to uninstall the cracked play store launcher, it still said I had the cracked play store. I used TBP to restore the play store/google services framework to an older point and then I wiped the Delvik cache, but when I rebooted it said I still had the cracked version.
I have ClockworkMod recovery but I didn't do a nandroid backup before I installed the cracked play store, and I don't want to factory reset my phone. Any help?

I have Titanium Backup Pro. Could I use that to wipe the data and then download it online? Would that screw up anything since it's a system app?

Thanks! It worked, although it still says that there's a custom patch on my phone available for the playstore. But at least I have the uncracked version again.
Also for some reason my SideBar Plus app is freaking out now.
Errr...actually the play store isn't working now. It keeps saying it's stopped.
Plz try my method which was :

I don't have a Root Explorer app, and I do have Titanium BackUps, but only 2. Would all my settings/Xposed modules and so forth even be saved with that still?

factory reset will ignore sd but be sure the backup created is in sd
reset will only format the data and system partition and reinstalls your firmware
