Neo V gallery problem. - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hello all !
My friend has a problem with his Neo V. When he takes a photo, it doesn't save on SD card. All gallery is empty, but he took a lot of pics. We were trying to solve it with other cards but the problem still exist.
I recommended him to flash other ROM, but he's afraid of a brick. And I can't find any offical ROM for Neo V.
What we should do with it? Any suggestions?
Best regards.

try Wotan Server to flash or SEUS

Try a simple factory reset.
When installing an official ROM through non-official ways, you can also brick your phone.

Sounds familiar, download one of these apps in the market and see if u find a ".nomedia" file and delete it.

[TUT]unbricking your x10 mini pro

ok this is a tutorial for those people stuck on a login screen.
first-off im not a develloper (far from it)
all info here is made by others and i do not take credit for it!
credits are @ the bottom.
since this question keeps popping up all over the forum and i had a bricked se myself i used a whole bunch of "tutorials" wich all lead to nothing,
so the i started fiddling around since it was broken anyway.
let me first explain i would like to thank the community here for offering all these great tools wich allow us to modify and restore our se.
ok so when i started my phone was completly bricked.
@ 1 point i managed to install xrecovery and accidentally installed a x10 version of a update.zip file...
i managed to flash that update.zip of a x10 version to my x10 mini pro wich completly destroyed my system.
i had no chance to boot in xrecovery because i am a complete noop in installing any kind of script to a android phone.
(if i were pro i would not have bricked it to start of with )
i accidentally wiped xrecovery in one of my previous attempts to "fix" my se with the flashtool ...yes i forgot to run the good update.zip out of the firmwares folder and choose the wipeuserdata option wich removed my xrecovery that i had installed....
so everything that could go wrong went wrong...
since it didnt really matter what i did with my freshly created brick i started digging around on the forums and found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
wich is a great way to flash roms to a previous version.
so i downloaded the tool 0.26 was the version wich i used.
after i got the tool installed i downloaded a new "old" rom.
i had too fool the se companion tool that i was using a old version.
these roms are found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
pick anyone because it does not matter at all (since im dutch i used the dutch version)
even though my system files were messed up to a point of no return the rom installed just fine but did not boot... but now i had atleast a older rom installed.
so i started the se companion and crossed my fingers...
and it updated! because the old rom was predated to their latest firmware they pushed out the update wich fixed the system files and gave me the latest firmware.
but now ofcourse i was on a stock rom not rooted or anything.
since i am such a noob at this i tried a new all in one script made by mikevhl
found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10596265#post10596265
it automaticly rooted my phone, installed busybox and xrecovery
after that i just ran the keyboard layout fix found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822050
but now i needed apps2sd because that was the only reason i ever started this madness called upgrading....
but instead i found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326
it is not apps2sd!! but links2sd
Instead of moving all applications to SD card with app2sd, I want to move only selected applications.
Because I don't want to move my launcher, soft keyboard and dialer application to SD and make them unavaliable on boot if my SD card has problem or not inserted.
and because this is a apk even a geek like me can install that with astro..
please note that Link2SD does not move data and dalvik-cache, it only moves the apk file. This is what Android 2.2+ does. APKs are actually on the card; the dex files, private data directories, and native shared libraries remain in internal storage.
for actual apps2sd i would reffer you to use any other script/installation w/e. after all my failures i could not be asked anymore and found that this sollution was more than enough for me
the only thing you need to do is partition your sd card wich is verry easy and there is a perfect tutorial allready found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=SD_card_partitioning
so now i changed my bricked phone wich i considered dead to a working latest firmware rooted xrecovery links2sd working phone in less than a hour..
i would like to thank:
Androxyde and bin4ry for flashtool!
whooper90 for his keyboard-layout tutorial!
Mikevhl for his perfect script!
bakpinar for his links2sd program!
and ofcourse everyone contributing to their projects.
amen
a good post.thank you
nice post but i want you to point at an easier way
when you soft bricked your devices and i think i am one that have done that the most in this forum lol
have restores my soft bricked pro for more like 350 times now...
pull battery out open SEUS go further till you see you need to connect your phone
plug usb cable in it hold back button and put battery back in
and you rom will be flashed
this will always work coz we have s1 bootloader and thanks for that SE!
unless you go **** around with the boatloader ofc xD
i recently moved on to yet another mobile phone which i hope to be using for a couple of months since the se was not entirely to my liking but yes your method works fine ofcourse unless your bootloader is messed up
anyways i just expressed my way of fixing my problem on the situation i got myself into..which is probably verry simmilar to most nubs messing around on a android the first time and end up with a soft bricked phone... and to help them understand their bricked phone i wrote my little tut just for the nubs like myself.
what if i stuck at the SE logo?
my problem already solved now..thanx every1..xda roxx

CyanogenMod 6.1.3 V4.5.7, SD CARD PROBLEM CAUSED!!!!

everything was working fine, until i flash this mod, started instaling the (alot) apps i wanted to, and all of the sudden, the apps never finished installing, and there is no way of installing apps for me now, not even sd card/ market, only the "zip", i can install apps on 2.1/2.3 (arc rom). but not on ANY 2.2 rom. i dont know why.
if anyone know how to fix this please help, whether i restore or put in any new 2.2 rom installing apps doesnt work, i cant connect the sd card to computer and browse thru it, for connecting i HAVE to use multi mount . plz help. thanks!
Hey you might want to reflash the rom again. That should fix it but if you still have this problem go to developer tools ( its an app) and press crash system server
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
I GOT this problem once before so
take out the sd card and try installing from the market
if it works
remove the ".android_secure" folder from the sd card
its the parts of apps moved t sd and it may be the problem
(you shoul remove them anyway cauze its useless)

[Q] Google navigator don´t work in xperia neo v

Good morning.
I´m having problems with my xperia neo v, since i unlock the bootloader i can use the google navigator with any rom.
I tried with miui and cm7 with the same results, when i start this application the phone restart.
I install another gps navigators ( Trials version ) and it works fine, so i think that isn´t hardware problem.
Can´t somebody help me with this issue please??
Thanks in advance
May be Google doesn't support your country for navigation check list of available country for navigation with Google maps.

Did you tried to delete 'android' folder on SD card?
Maybe some resources (cache etc) are not compatible with new Gmaps app.
Try to copy all important data on PC then format SD card and reinstall gmaps from market.
Also, you may try delete maps apk from /system/app keeping it only in /data/app
Hi everybody.
I tried to format the sd card with the same results.
Actually i try installing the ICS and it works fine.
Thanks you very much for your answer!!!!!!!

[Q] Paranoidandroid problems

So, I've switched to Paranoidandroid from CheckROM, which means that I've done rerooting and installing of ICS via ODIN. Afterwards, I've installed Paranoidandroid ROM v0.6 and HYBRID Gapps and done the rest of the instructions.
I don't know if I've done something wrong in the process (or I'm just a noob), but after few minutes of working and figuring things out, the screen just goes off and animations comes up (I think it's looping) that is similar to boot animation (but it's not bootloop since I was already at the homescreen).
So is there any way to disable/fix that?
I also have problems with connecting to WiFi (gets stuck at Obtaining IP Address) and my wallpaper also went missing and I couldn't set a new one.
Oh yea, I also couldn't find External SD files in Gallery? I seen it's in some folder emmt or something like that, but why it isn't placed in it's default /mnt/sdcard/ext_sdcard/?
Thank you!
P.S.
Oh yeah, sorry for an inappropriate use of grammar, hope you will understand what I meant to say
EDIT:
I also cannot reboot or power off my mobile phone, only if I take out the battery -.-
Full wipe and re flash fails then re download the firmware and re falsh .
jje
I've already tried wipe data/factory reset and reinstall Parandroid ROM + HYBRID Gapps. Or you meant that I should flash ICS Stock again and then flash Parandroid?
EDIT:
I'm flashing Firmware atm (Nordic Countries one). So I should add CF Root afterwards and then reflash Parandroid and it's stuff?
Tried it, I still get that animation loop after few minutes of usage =/!
(Had to post here since I can't post it at Development)
Did you try redownloading the rom, if not then redownload paranoid rom and then reflash it.
Re download, do the corresponding wipes, re flash, fix permissions just in case.,.
Should work
Thank you on your responses, I will try it asap and provide further info about it.
EDIT:
Redownload and reflash didn't work out =/!
this called hot reboot, I guess you need to format your internal sd card, use odin to flash the stock firmware, then flash the rom you like. And by the way, your external sd card is located in emmc, you can use an app called directory bind to bind emmc as external sd card, search the forum , you can find the instruction to use the app.

Thank you, but all I had to do is to change some WiFi settings on mobile phone since I have 13 channel router. Thanks for the app, will come in handy!

hello.
It's a known issue . Response from the original thread:
set phone and contact apps to 240 (custom DPI) or more simply to "Phone DPI".
It solves the problem.
cheers.

How To Root Xperia Z3 Compact? (deleted pictures by accident)

Hi All,
I am new to the forum and have a problem. I accidentally deleted a ton of photos from my Xperia Z3 Compact before backing them up on my pc.
I want to recover them, without paying money to do so.
I have looked about the internet and sort of worked out what I need to do...
1- Root the phone
2- Install an app like Disk Digger
3- Recover the pictures
Unfortunately I am stuck on the first part. I have tried to root the phone using King Root but it wont root and gives me an error 'ROOT FAILED: ERROR CODE 0X163F36'
Things I can tell you about the phone:
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Model Number: D5803
Android Version: 5.1.1
So I guess I need to root the phone still to get these pictures back? Does anyone know how I can do it? Also the phone os a contract phone so I only want to use tried and trusted methods to complete my task with no risk of bricking my phone cos I wont be able to get a new one
Any info greatly appreciated.
You could try getting a tool for windows that recovers deleted pics and if the pics were stored in the SD card you can easily recover MOST of them. If not, then you have to root your phone. You can easily do it by following any video tutorials on YouTube or searching for your device's thread here which will most definitely have a rooting guide in the general section.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
The thing is Ive rooted phones in the past with Kingroot and it was fine, so Im not sure but there may be a reason why the Xperia cant be rooted. If anyone has any information on this please let me know.
