Stock email app - multiple accounts - Motorola Photon 4G

I have 2 accounts on my stock email, but can't see an easy way of switching between them.

I know this isn't an answer to your question but do yourself a favor and dump the stock email app and start using K9. Hands down best non-enterprise email app for Android and is free.
Just a suggestion.

should be able to hit menu then accounts to switch between them

I have used it and like it, but it's always my top battery user. I've been using Enhanced Mail, but it seems to kill my keyboard and *may* be causing reboots. So I thought I'd try the stock, which has some surprisingly nice features......but oddly no quick way to switch between accounts.
Thanks for the thought though.

In K9 I have 3 accounts set-up to sync every minute and only ever shows battery usage of 2% in settings. Wonder why yours is using more?

That is interesting.

Makes sense, but I don't have that option when I press menu.
And when I tap on the account at the top it shows me the folders.
The only way I can change between them is to go into settings and change which one is the default and that is the only one I can see.

need help with emails!

hey everyone,
im new to the forum as well as to the whole HTC phone/droid world. i got the thunderbolt and i love the phone, really nice and kool. my only problem is with the emails. i setup my yahoo and gmail, the problem is the phone doesn't push out the email received on its own. i have to click on the app for it refresh. the blackberry always have my email pushing through, less then 30sec from it being sent.
is there a setting or a way to make my email push through faster ?
thanks
Menu, setting, account and sync. Make sure you have them turned on, it should have a green circle.

[Q] Better CM7 Dialer?

I don't know about all of you, but the default Blur dialer is roughly 10,000,000 times better than WyContacts that is packaged with CM7. I can't stand the piece of crap anymore. It doesn't allow you to tap a number and have it pull in the dialer so it can be modified, the contact integration is wonky, the favorites list is shoddy... basically I hate it if you can't tell.
Is there a way to either get the stock Dialer from Gingerbread (from the n1 or ns), the Blur dialer, or some other dialer that supports the same feature set as the default or Blur ones?
Help?

Thanks, I guess. I thought it would be inferred I have already been searching around and not found a good alternative, else I wouldn't have bothered posting
Use go dialler in combination with go contacts, I'm sure you'll like it.

Thanks, this one seems to be the closest one available. It's only missing the "Recommended" Favorites. However, where most of these dialers are only 60% of what I want, Go Dialer is more like 80% what I want. None of the other free ones on the Market are very good at all.

Go Dialer is indeed great! but the problem is that missed calls are generated and not cleared unless explicitly swiped or cleared with button.

Dialer/contacts app with swipe to call functionality?

Samsung dialers used to include a function where you could slide right over a contact to call and slide left to message them. They removed this a while ago and changed to the default android behavior, so I switched to using exdialer since it retained this. Just the other day, exdialer was updated and no longer does this in the contacts (still works in the recent call list) . I've looked around a bit for another app that has this functionality, but I can't seem to find one.
Anyone know of one out there?

Any and every Samsung TW(touchwiz) based rom has this function. Shostock, Aberration, all TW roms. Cm9,AOSP and AOKP roms DO NOT have this feature. So you need to try a TW rom, I dual boot Shostock2 and Aberration, and both have this feature.
He's talking about alternative dialer apps if I'm not mistaken. I don't use any, so unfortunately i can't help.
exDialer in the Play store. It's free and has the swipe to call/SMS functionality you're looking for.

Nope, as the op mentioned, it was removed in the latest update (or at least doesn't work correctly on JB ). The toggle is still in the settings, and it works from the call history, but swiping left or right in contacts just changes pages.

It still works in exDialer. You have to click the button in preferences to allow swiping to dial from contacts. I've just tried it and confirmed it still works. However, I don't know how it worked before as I've never used it before today, so not sure if it's a new setting previously unavailable.
Also, I'm running Task's AOKP JB. Make sure you set a # as default, too, the first time you try it for each person.

Yep, I'm an idiot. There are actually TWO toggles to enable swipe a contact to dial. The one towards the top of the list is for the dialer only, and then there is another one lower in the list for contacts.
Thanks JankAU for pushing me to figure this out - it had been a moderate annoyance. Hope this also helps out the OP.

No worries, brother. We've got bigger issues, like keeping Task around, ya know? And to be honest, I thought you were right the first time because I was swiping from history. I had to figure it out as well, so it worked out for both of us!

Exchange mail without security

For some reason none of the regular email apps that have the option to disable the pin lock on the lock screen aren't working for me. But the stock mail app works great but I can't stand the pin lock. Does anyone have an apk that I can flash or push to bypass this? Or could someone direct me in a way to modify the apk myself?

I use enhanced email which uses the web services and thus does not enforce pin requirements.

For some reason enhanced email keeps losing my settings and I have to constantly setup my account. And then tonight after setting it up for the 20th time it wouldn't get any mail. So I downloaded touchdown and it did the same thing... Once I setup the HTC mail it worked great.

Yeah, go look at the info section on the app in play store. It has a link to a loong thread where they explain why... it's actually a bug with the OS. You can sideload the app, or as I did, install it from Titanium backup to make it work properly. Mine is solid.
Is this you trying to get around corp security? I'm using exchange and I don't even have a lock screen

Try this, it works. You'll need to be familiar with using smali/baksmali.

Yes, there is a setting to enforce a lock via password or pin. His admins are using that policy.

No options in notification for latest Gmail app

Hi guys,
I've been meaning to post this for a while, but with the new Gmail app, I don't have the options in the notification bar like you are supposed to get (delete, reply, etc.). I am currently running Viper Rom, if that makes a difference. Is anyone else experiencing this as well?
Seems to only work when i have one new email. Two or more emails and I have to go to the main app to delete /archive etc.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
I noticed that as well. If two or more emails that option does not show.

That is really weird. When I first downloaded the new update, it wouldn't work even with 1 email. I reinstalled the Gmail app, and it now seems to work with only 1 email, which makes sense because it could get a bit crowded with multiple emails.
I have the same problem as well. I have removed the app and reinstalled several time but still don't see the options. Quite odd.
