Sorry I need to ask here, but Im new to this galaxy tab 10.1 thing. 1 thing I do know is that I have installed another rom on my galaxy s2 and have free games and navigation. Can someone help me to get this same stuff running on my tab? Or teach me how to do it? Cause I do not want to spend money buying games and stuff. I have the wifi+3g version.

Well hello there,
Basically I'm such a 'noob' at all this stuff basically, I used to be brilliant with all the hacking stuff but this new technology has got ahead of me.
So basically I really need a lot of advice...
My Samsung Galaxy 2 Info:
Model No: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.4
Baseband Version: I9100XXKI1
Kernal Version: [email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWKI4
Basically, I'm new to this phone, only just got it, been very anxious around rooting my phone so finally built the courage to eventually do it.
So what i'm asking is if any of you could give me some help/advice on how to root my phone.
I would love for someone to be able to guide me through the process step-by-step including all the programs/links etc please, I know that I'm no doubt such a pest for asking.
Also would someone be able to explain all these strange terms to me as well, IE whats a ROM etc, and what different ones do etc, please?
Also could someone tell me what NOT to do when my phone has been rooted please to stop it getting bricked or whatever.

I am having some trouble today with my phone, I recently installed ICS (XXLP2) and i am a complete NOOB all these letters and number's confuse me.
What i do know is that i would like to have checkrom.
Can i just install Checkrom as normal(Surprisingly i know how to do this)?
Do i have to be on a different OS to install Checkrom?
Would i benefit from something like Redpillkernel?
Sorry for all the questions but i would really like to learn more about this android custom OS business.

None out yet and dont attempt to flash the International rom or you WILL brick your phone. Just need to wait it out, it might be a while though.

ATT OMEGA 7.0 phone won't turn on anymore
So I have an ATT S3 and I misread the thread and tried to install Omega 7.0 after rooting and now my phone won't turn on at all. Be careful of what you do. I'm screwed right now. Any help would be great !

hey , complete noob, idiot here, im desperate, my brother sent his old samsung galaxy sII GT- I9100M from bell canada. never been rooted. im in the philippines btw. need to root for me to unlock ( which btw i dont even know how to but lets focus rooting first) need to unlock my phone so i can viber with my kid who is far from me right now ( so heres the specs. ill put everything there since i dont know what else is neede( NOOB)

If you're this ignorant about all this smartphone and rooting stuff, don't start to mess with your phone. Leave it like this.
If you still want to, start reading and learning to make sure you can do it by yourself, so you know what can go wrong and how to deal with it.
