Can anyone provide this file so that I can add to the neutrino rom I am using? I am not sure where I can download one. I believe I need this file to view asian fonts properly. Now they are all showing up as little boxes in my phone.
Thanks!
try for example bbs.gfan.com/viewthread.php?tid=38244
uncompress to get the .ttf, and copy it to /system/fonts using root explorer, overwrite the original one

When I try to flash the stockclock.zip file using the new CWM it says that Amend scripting is no longer supported. Does anybody know how I would could get this installed?
Open the zip file usin astro file manager. Copy the clock.apk (might be named deskclock.apk) then place it in your sdcard where you know Where its located. Use root explorer to copy it to the system/app directory. Rename your old clock.apk to something like clock.bak in case you ever need to go back to it.

Thanks. Did that. And it was called "ClockPackage.apk" in case anybody was wondering.
I used to be able to add/remove .apks by using ES file explorer, I managed to add a widget by copying and pasting into /system/app
but when I tried to copy and paste LivewallpaperPicker.apk and VideoPlayer.apk it successfully copies but didn't seems like it's installed.
Any ideas?
I did search and came across this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875797
but that seems very different to the popular copy and paste method.
thanks.

Did you reboot after you pasted the apk's into system/app?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
No but when I was on Cognition rom I didn't have to reboot.
I moved on to Leomar's rom anyways.
Cognition > Leomar > VillainRom
You aren't trying to copy an apk from stock to a custom rom, or from a custom rom to another custom rom, are you? Since the signatures are different, it won't work.
Nope, I downloaded both Villainrom 2.3.0 signed.zip and VillainRom 2.3 Lite signed.zip and installed the lite version.
After that I extracted 2.3.0 zip and tried to copy and paste into the Lite rom - Maybe that's where i went wrong? I was guessing since villain signed them both they should be fine.
Hello,
How can I tell what version a *.apk file is before I move it to the phone and open it?
I have many email.apk versions and would like to see, which version it is in Win$ows before I try to open and install it on my Vibrant.
Here is an example from the Vibrant-Droid-Razr 2.1 from Fishman.
Tx,

Apk files are actually zip files, or something similar. You can see what is inside them using file managers on the phone, or probably unzip on a PC. I took a look at one I had, and found the version number by viewing the AndroidManifest as a text file.
I rooted with the stripped down ROM. But i need the stock email app in order to sync my Exchange contacts Where can i get just this apk? Thanks !!
Right. Download my ROM for example and extract Email.apk from zip file. Then copy it using RootExplorer or adb into /system/app on your phone. Change permissions to rw-r-r. Reboot.

Excuse my ignorance, but i can't seem to extract from any of the ROM's ive downloaded (can't find the link to yours if i click the ics one in your signature it just takes me to a long thread with no obvious links). I know how to use adb to get the file onto the phone, but cant figure out how to get it out of the .tar.ext4 file ?
download blazer rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746184
then use 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to open the zip.
navigate to system/app and find email.apk
extract it from there (drag and drop it out of the 7zip window to your desktop)
then copy that to your phone ... either use adb to push it to system/app or use root explorer on your phone.
hope that helps
Hi, I realize that your rom says that it's just for Sprint, if I were to download it and take the contacts.apk from it, would that not work on my AT&T galaxy SIII?
I accidentally disabled it and am currently trying to find a way to get it back onto my phone. :'( *I already looked at my settings>applications>all and it's not there. [contact storage is there, but I can't find the application that I use to actually read that, after the disabling.//I raged on it for continually popping up on my advanced task manager.]

I rooted (using this method: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-sch-i535-root-101633/) and ended up using the non-bloatware version and apparently the regular email app was considered bloatware for some reason because it disappeared.
So I tried following your instructions, but there was no "email.apk" in the download, so I figured you probably meant "exchange.apk." Followed the instructions, moved it to system\app, changed the permissions, and rebooted but it's still not showing. So I went back to try to install it manually, and it just tells me it wasn't installed successfully (and yes, I have "unknown sources" selected).
I am also not sure if this is the stock GSIII email app, based on the icon. Looks like the old yellow email icon to me.
Hello there.
Maybe someone can help me...
I am on a rooted Galaxy S9+ with Pie
(see attached pic)
My problem:
My stock file explorer can not create any files or folders it seems as it only has permission for reading.
Every other file explorer has no problem.
It's only the stock one.
In my App list, there are all permission set.
So my question:
Does anyone know how to check the -r-w-x permissions for this stock file explorer?
And how to change them?
What can I do?
All other File Explorer works like a charme...
But I need the stock one, because when I want to print to PDF, it only uses the stock one.
A deinstallation and new installation does not help.
Many thanks!!

After a dirty flash of my ROM and reflash of Firmware everything works like a charme
