Trying to temp root - HTC EVO 3D

I did everything right trying to temp root my evo 3d. usb debugging is on. I get the .bat file up plug the phone in, it runs its course, then I hit enter when it's done, and no root. titanium backup won't work. What's going on?
Thanks.

Which guide are you using?

If you followed everything correctly and you havent obtained root.......................................its because you are on hboot 1.50

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1159354
I used that one and even tried a different one called the perma-temp-root or whatever. Neither worked. So does that mean I have to look into this hboot 1.5?

The only way to root hboot 1.5 atm is using the HTC unlock method

How can I know for sure that I have the hboot 1.5?

Pull the battery, when turning the phone on press vol. Down and power it will boot into the bootloader. At the top of the screen it will show the hboot version.

Has anyone used the HTC super tool v2?

Phone still Locked, but Hboot 1.5 is s-OFF?

I have no idea what I did, but I have S-off 1.5 HBOOT, yet my phone is still locked...
Proof attached.
I will attempt to unlock the phone using HTC's Method. Will post results
So
I am now unlocked using the the HTC method (I had S-Off already right?)
Any chance this is a holdover from when the revolutionary method failed, which was before I was forced to update on Aug 23rd? There's really no logical reason my S should be off right?

If you ran revolutionary prior to get the OTA then that would explain why you still have S-Off even with HBoot 1.50
I'm in the same boat.. I just purchased a used EVO 3D, the first thing I wanted to do was check hboot. Unfortunately it has hboot 1.50 installed, but it reports S-OFF. Like you I'm thinking the previous owner unlocked and achieved s-off but then updated which locked the bootloader .
That being said, I'm bummed.. I can either go the HTC method (void warr) or get in line and wait for the proper support in a upcoming revolutionary release? Do I have any other options? Is there nothing else I can do?

If it's s-off, you can flash anything you want...right? You can downgrade hboot if the locked bothers you or just use HTC's method. Just try flashing something and see if it works. I have a feeling it will.

With S-Off you should still be able to flash a custom recovery and root even though your boot loader is locked. That is the beauty of using Revolutionary, you may lose root when you take updates, but it keeps you S-Off and you can re-root by flashing CWM and Superuser.

That's what I thought, I attempted to flash recovery from adb but was geeting an error message (FAILED (remote: not allowed). So after reading your replies I decided to try install TWRP by way of PG86IMG.zip, which worked. I removed the *.zip, rebooted into hboot, and then launched recovery. I'm doing a nandroid backup as we speak then will attempt to install a ROM.

[SOLVED]hboot 1.4 s-off |internal memory not writeable

i recently ran the Juopunutbear S-OFF (as i had htcdev unlocked last year) and achieved s-off. i intended to flash the new VM firmware, but incidentally flashed the pg86img from unknownforce's brick/downgrade thread.
now my phone shows in the bootloader:
shooter xc ship s-off rl

radio-1.06.00.0426
emmc-boot

i was surprised at this, but after flashing this zip, i can no longer write to recovery or boot through adb/fastboot.
i'm not sure i really understand what i've done to my device, but i want to be able to write to my internal memory again. so, after reading through several other downgrade/unlocking options, i'm afraid to try anything because of the possibility of completely bricking my device.
can anyone offer any guidance or wisdom?
i've booted up the downgrade toolkit live disc, and when i run the status from the menu it shows:
????????????? fastboot

Possible to S-off HTC EVO3D with CID:TELST001

Is it possible to s-off with the cid TELST001 I am having a lot of trouble trying to do this. I can unlock the bootloader but not s-off it.

Yes I agree but does not work with TELST001. I think my phone CID is locked. Can't change TELST001.
I tried wire trick a few times - all failed. From my readings on the Internet, seems a Telstra locked phone can not be S-OFF'd. Is this really true ?? Should I have unlocked it before rooting ? Has anyone else had same sad experience?
While we are on subjtec of phone not behaving as other carriers, presently my phone is in unusable state. Can't go forward and can't go backwards.
I have rooted and unlocked phone (via EVOHacks videos) but have no more successes.

I can connect to PC using FASTBOOT USB
Have tried many RUU from "Shipped ROMs" site - no avail.
I have tried a few ICS but some hang and some go into boot loop.
Anyone willing to share their same experiences ? Maybe we can find a forward path ???
To run ruu's you have to relock your boot loader first.
1. Connect your phone to PC in fast boot.
2. Run cmd
3.type fastboot oem lock
4. Bootloader relocked.
Now you can run it from your PC if the ruu file is an exe file.

hboot 1.19 with s-off

So I just spent a long time trying to get s-off on my evo lte. Well after a few hours and linux running on my windows pc I got lazy panda to give me s-off. Well I then decided to go ahead and install a firmware update with the new 1.19 hboot(I obviously wasn't thinking). My phone still has s-off but now has a locked boot loader. I'm pretty pissed and I don't think theres much I can do at this point, am I correct?

I've been s-off (1.12) since the exploit was found. Always thought you'd lose s-off or root if I updated the bootloader but after reading this thread, it sounds like I can update to 1.19 and just reinstall twrp?
Currently running Mean 3.6 with just the radio updates. Phone is running fine, any reason to update the bootloader?
Appreciate your help, there's a lot of info out there that contradicts itself.

Never a problem with asking questions. The user was S-OFF, so it doesnt matter that his H-boot said locked. He can do whatever he pleases.
The poster was suggesting he use an overly complicated method (HTC dev to unlock the bootloader and either fastboot flashing the recovery or using an app to do it) when all he had to do was install the recovery via the bootloader
He probably could just have easily installed the old 1.12 bootloader.
stuck @ boot
Reflash boot image through recovery you have to mount USB to get the file on your sf card then reboot system then go back to fastboot and accept the update

Even though S-off wasn't successful, it looks like you're htcdev unlocked now, so you should be able to flash a new recovery image. I recommend the newest 4ext recovery, and then flash a stock rom and try to get S-off again...or u can turn on smart flash in 4ext advanced settings and flash (almost) any ROM you prefer.

Yes it is unlocked i did that a while ago the problem now is that it deleted my rom and recovery i had 4ext on it and i cant get it to connect to adb it doesnt see the device for some reason. even tho it does show up in the device manager. How can I get a new recovery?
So I had to use fastboot on the computer to push a recovery. hopefully It's fixed now.

maybe try flashing new firmware or different hboots try the 1.40 hboot for cm 10.1 roms
try a sense based rom, you wont be able to boot aosp roms with hboot 1.57
