Firstly, I want to say that the ROM is fantastic, I'm loving it!
Recently Im coming into issues, though. Any websi te with flash. Its saying I need flash, and when I go to the market to update flash, it says its not compatible with my phone.. in fact. A lot of apps on the market are saying not compatible with my phone now.. Any ideas? Thanks
Bump... Need a fix please =/
Samething is happening with mine too.

Bump..... Please help?
First, get titanium backup. Completely uninstall flash via TB, then reboot. Download flash from the market and it should work fine.
If after that you end up with flash audio but no sound, then you need to get an app called " root explorer " and edit a system file to fix it. I can't remember off the top of my head which file and where but that issue was discussed in the liquid 3.0 thread, maybe 3.1, not too sure now.

I found the reason apps are saying "not compatible" with your device. Apparently my google profile has my phone and two other randomly named devices on it... Anyone know how to get rid of the useless ones? I cannot for the life of me find where to delete these device profiles...

I haven't been able to delete them, but you can hide them from device lists in the Market and they won't give you that problem
on the webpage, click on the settings wheel in the top left corner --> my market account --> settings tab, click edit on any devices you don't use --> hidden in menus (under visibility), and make sure you hit update
I'm trying that, but this is absolutely ridiculous. There are three devices listed, and when I click to hide two of then, only one is hidden and the other two show, no matter what....
Turns out that this is a known issue to google, they're working on a fix. Hopefully soon, and hopefully the cause (and fix) behind all this.

So a couple of days ago I updated to UEKME via PhantomHacker's StarBurst ROM, and right afterwards I noticed I continued to receive OTA update notifications from my Samsung account. So of course my first step was to change the settings in that account so that the device no longer looked for updates, however it appears that the update had already been downloaded or received. So then I started thinking, maybe if I could just find that downloaded update file, I could delete it and fix the issue that way. But after exhaustive searches, I have no idea where such a file could be. And of course all the while, I continue to get those damn annoying update popup notifications, with no way of stopping them.
Has anyone else either 1) encountered the same problem, or 2) know where the downloaded update file could be or what it might be named? Someone in another thread said it would be in the root of the SD card, but that I can confirm is not the case. And I performed a full system search of the term "update" and found no file, so that's why I'm wondering what exactly that file's name might actually be.
I'm looking for an answer to this as well. Thanks.

Cool, at least I'm not the only one having this problem!
Just an idea... since you use Starburst you don't need OTA anymore.
What happens if you remove the Samsung account, do you still get update notifications?
I have the exact same issue. The update downloaded before I flashed the custom ROM, so it keeps letting me know that an update has been downloaded and if it should be applied. Even if I hit do not remind me, it still pops up.
I think finding the update data and deleting it would solve this problem. Problem is, nobody seems to know where the update data is downloaded to. I've asked in a couple of different threads, but no dice so far.
Let's hope someone comes through with an answer

Ok well I'm giving this a shot, only I've found that one can't just delete the Samsung account in the more obvious fashion, that is by going to Settings-->Accounts and sync and simply deleting the account there (in fact it is not possible to do it this way, it simply won't let you as apparently "other programs" are using the account). Instead, using Titanium Backup I located the app called "Samsung account" and uninstalled that app. I have now done that, and (so far) I haven't gotten another update notification. But I'll give it more time and will report back with my findings over the coming hours/days.
Not sure 100%, but if you stop the Software Update service you should be able to remove the account. Or the radical way, you can remove all accounts with Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset.
Ah crap, well after removing the account (i.e., uninstalling "Samsung account" app), about 2 hours later I awakened my tab only to find that damned update notification pop up, so obviously that didn't work at all. I guess we are now just stuck with waiting to see if someone can actually find the correct file that one must delete in order to stop this incredibly annoying and frustrating phenomenon from occurring. Damn.
One more little thing I'm now trying - while looking through things again in Titanium, I found another apk that I believe was called "Software updater" or something similar to that, so I've tried uninstalling that using Titanium. I have since rebooted and have the tab running, so as with earlier I'll keep checking in on it to see if the update notification comes back, or if by some miracle this fixes it. Fingers crossed, because after this I'm going to begin getting ready for a full wipe and build things back up from scratch.
UPDATE: things might be headed in the right direction after all. Before uninstalling this particular apk (the Software Updater), I used to be able to reproduce the typical "software update successfully received - do you want to install?" popup by going to Settings-->About tablet-->Software update-->Update, and when I'd click "Update" I'd get the notification...but now when I try it, it does absolutely nothing. So I have a feeling this might have done it. So again basically I have killed both the Samsung Account apk and the Software updater apk (uninstalled them, that is, using TB). If I don't get another popup by tomorrow morning, we can consider this a success....
Ya, I thought so. I still want to know where the updates are stored. There must be a file written somewhere and when that file is present the update is trigerred.

Agreed, you're right that has got to be the case, but where is the million dollar question. But so far so good at my end with the removal of the Software Updater app
FIXED
I think I can now confirm that the problem is fixed. The key is apparently uninstalling the "Software Updater" app using Titanium Backup. I also removed the "Samsung Account" app in the same way, but the Updater program seemed to be the real key (but I would still remove the Account app since obviously you don't need it). Good luck!

The answer most likely is that the Samsung Galaxy i777 is so new right now
that when developers create the code to their apps most likely are required to
enter or add into their app coding and or database the exact phone names
and models to which they are compatible with before the market allows the
people to download it...........
Just a way to keep the market safer and from getting thousands of complaints
damm , and I wanted to try that wifikill app. Hopefully the creator has a direct link in his thread on xda.
Someone said in that app thread that its because I may have changed my dpi settings, and I did in the build.prop file but I changed it back and I'm still getting the error so I think Misterjunky is correct.

What would the pixel density have to do with any of that? That absolutely is not true as I have the ATT version of the phone and my room mate has the Epic 4G Touch version of this phone. Both are rooted and his is still stock ROM mine is listed below in my signature. My Pix density is 200 and his is stock 240. Both of our markets show as having not compatible apps for our phones such as Adobe Flash and Netflix...Yet We both have the apps on our phones just older versions. When you search them out they are there and claim to have updates but will not let you install. I flashed the UnNamed 1.0.3 ROM to my phone just a few days ago I did a wipe and reset of the phone, after rebooting and customizing (including changing the build.prop file for density) for a short period of time I was able to search out and update Adobe Flash to version 11 and the latest version of Netflix. I go back after a few hours and restoring from TIBU and noticed one of my apps "Make your clock" was the old version I had in my backups that I must have restored over the newer version downloaded earlier in the day from the market updates. I went to update the app and I was not able to do it, now it is not compatible with my phone. I thought at first it was just paid type apps that were doing this and then I investigated and noticed the Flash and Netflix apps were in the list. That threw out any type of security issues that may be trying to be implemented on paid apps now. But is may be something to do with files or sizes related to TIBU and restoring files from backups.
I can confirm that some of the apps in the market will show as incompatible when you change your LCD density. This may not be the only reason, but I have seen this behavior on the Facebook, Skype and YouTube apps.
I just set my density back to 240, restarted, downloaded/updated, then changed back. It's sort of irritating, but until there's a way to override the compatibility check, i think we just live with this work around.

Well I just did the same exact thing you just described and can reconfirm it is still not working with apps installed on my phone. But have not ran into any issue with installing any new appsnot previously installed or restored. Have you or do you use TIBU to backup or restore apps or are you straight stock loading apps from the market directly?

Yeah, like I said. There might be more than one problem. This is just the one that worked for me.
Before I figured it out, I had been restoring (old versions) apps using Titanium without any issue. It's a shame that the market compatibility detection is not quite accurate and there's no way to tell the Market "no really, my phone is compatible."
Issue [SOLVED] > market > search results found doesn't equal search results shown.
Hello fellow's
Have you guys noticed that since the new android market came upon us, that there is troublesome to not say impossible to find some applications using the search function.
For instance, if I search "mario"; I will have 3 apps showing. All though the top bar says it found over 2000 results. Nevertheless I would not be able to download or even have these results displayed for me.
It's probably worth mentioning that I'm not the only one that having this issue. I've noticed that ALL phones have the same issue as I do. Some of these different phones have custom kernels and custom roms, but not all. So there's no need for searching error in roms, phones, etc.
I have successfully uninstalled NEW Android Market from my phone and restored the OLD android market.
It works just fine as it displays all search results that are found.
Yet the problem remains since google has arranged a silence update of market. Within 30 minutes I have the new market once again installed.
* Is there any solution?
* If not, is it possible to turn off silent updates?

Me too i have problem with market from XDAndroid it doesen't show all application : /
My guess is that everyone are having the same experience. Although I don't think too many are aware of this, rather major, bug.
To clarify for those who still doesn't have a clue of what I'm talking about:
Pay attention to the top bar where the search hits are stated. Remember this number of found apps. Compare this to how many apps you REALLY are shown. Shouldn't be too many scrolls until you reach rock bottom. XD
Also.. Let us try to exclude that this hasn't got anything to do with any regional restrictions of any kind, by stating our nationality, carrier, brand of phones/tablets, custom/stock rom and the current status of the search function in android market, at the beginning of our first posts in this thread. I'll probably be first one out to do this.
For all your convenience; just copy/paste the template below:

When you do a search in the new market only a few apps show.
You have to tap on the bar that tell you how many apps found and the rest will show.
Dosen't work with XDAndroid (i have HTC Topaz with FRX07.1 last kernel, rootfs)

I wish it would be that easy.
I don't mean to be rude in no way. But have you even tried that yourself?
My experience says that's bogus. If it would be pushable then probably it would look more like a button or clickable link, wouldn't it?
200.000.000.000$ Google inc. Should atleast provide hints on how to get all apps to show. Besides the billions; Google is the world largest internet search provider. It would be a great FAIL by Google if this isn't a big bug.
Nevertheless, button or not, the tapping trick will not do it. I've tried that on atleast 8 phones, different brand, different roms, different kernels. It just makes me feel stupid, tapping like a freak on my friends phones.
If you still claims that tapping is the trick. Then I would like you to take screenshots of it.
Please search for "Mario" and post screenshots of new market showing more than 5 results of Mario.
And if it is true that tapping is the way to go. Then we've probably have got ourselves a regional issue.
Also... Please provide information about your country, phone, rom, etc, etc,
The End.

Same problem.
Only just noticed it now. Thought it was my phone as google searches would not yield any results for me on the problem, probably due to wrong wording mind. I'm on stock Motorola atrix 2.2 UK rom with newish market update.
What a major oversight by google, surely they should have fixed this by now.
I do a search for music and the grey bar says there are 25978 results I click on the tab arrow to display what I assume will be the 25978 app results. I get 20 apps, that's it? Everyone here who has actually noticed still having this issue I take it?
I have this issue too. Was trying to search for "Handcent" but it returns only 2 results, neither are the actual app.

easy fix for market.
Use any apparently that will freeze apks. Freeze market upgrader. Then uninstall market updates in manage applications. Once you uninstalled the update, you'll be back on the old market until you unfreeze the market updater. Hope this helps.
Even though I'm not rooted I have had that happen to me as well. Another problem I have is getting stuck in download loops. The only fix is to reboot my phone.

At least you got it to install, I get the message telling me that it's incompatible with my device. However, the TWC TV app (which it is likely rebranded from) installs fine. Just doesn't do much good when I have Brighthouse.
Brightouse is claiming "A rooted device does not allow us to set the permissions the LiveTv app needs to function properly".
Is this not such a bunch of crap. If their coders were worth a gain of salt they should have no problem changing or modding any permissions their app requires.
I'm guessing they are scared that rooted devices are able to record anything on the desktop. Sadly there are apps to help non-rooted devices to record the desktop too. So what would be the point of even searching for the xbin folder, which again I'm guessing that they are doing.. If this in fact what they are doing, could we add an app to rename that folder when the BH app is launched and rename it back when it closes?

Sounds like a bunch of bull****. A bit pissed that it aint working because of the stupid rooted crap. Someone has to find a way to modify the installation of this app but who will????
Thanks guys for the responds. Like everyone is saying it is a bunch of BULL****, but hopefully someone will come up for a solution to break this. By the way I started thinking why does it matter if our phones are rooted to B.H.. We pay them for service to our TV/Internet not our phones. It is not of their business what we do with our phones and if we made a decision to root, they should not block this app. to us. We pay the same amount that the person that did not root and they get to use this App.
I tried a little but the program won't get far enough along to help because usb debugging was enabled. I was using eclipse to monitor the log file while I launched the app.
There's a somewhat interesting (too much iFruit for me) discussion here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27195196-iPhone-Android-tablet-users-get-Bright-House-TV-App-Joy- on the subject. Looks like the reason behind the ICS only is because of DRM. Is it possible, the same reasoning was applied to devices being rooted or not?
the TWC app got a fix for rooted users, any chance there will be a rooted-compatible apk for the brighthouse app?
Wahoo!!

It was an app I learned, for some reason it was "twilight" from the play store. It is intended to remove blue light at night to help you sleep. It had an option to fix this known bug.
Actually, the option says it fixes it, but it doesn't' seem to for me. However, moving the .apk file into system apps seems to work.
