Widgits - HTC Rezound

I really like sence, that being said, if I'm running go launcher, is there any way to run the sence widgits? There are some I really like.

Only if you get a widget themed to look like a sense widget.

Same with adw then? I'm loving Sense.
Do you lose those revolving screens too?

Using an alternate launcher (LauncherPro, ADW, GO, etc.), you lose everything Sense. Widgets, screen transitions (revolving, etc.), everything.

Unfortunately, this is correct.
I really like Sense (I LOVE the widgets)except it annoys the hell out of me that there is no landscape view available on the home screens.
Because of this, I alternately run ADWLauncher EX at times especially when I have the phone mounted sideways in a car mount. Running ADW is nice & has TONS of custom options but it does disable all the Sense options.

ADW or LauncherPro for MT4G?

Both launchers are great IMO, but I've usually leaned toward LauncherPro. I haven't installed either on my MT4G, and am curious to know what other MT4G owners prefer to run on their phone (after rooting, of course).

adw launcher all the way.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/fluxed-adw-theme/com.asimonds.fluxed
with that adw.theme.
[i bought adw.notifier too]
then put on something with a black wallpaper=ooommmggg
speed+eye candy
I just tried both and ADW is slow as a dog on my phone. LauncherPro flies faster than I remember it running on my old MT3G, but sadly I can't install/use any of the HTCSense widgets (most importantly the weather/clock one).
Keep HTCSense or LauncherPro? Hmmm.
I have been using LauncherPro Plus for over a week now. Decided to try ADW today. Although there are definitely some more customization options on ADW theme wise, LPP seems to run faster and more consistent. I will be sticking to LPP.
Also, the old version of fancy widget or the paid beautiful widget app can replace the sense ui weather/clock.

LPP all the way, by far the best. Get beautiful widgets if you want the sense style clock and the LPP widgets are just as good as the sense widgets.

same here... I love Launcher Pro and have been using Beautiful Widgets since they came back after the C&D from HTC, between the speed of Launcher Pro (not to mention the 2 extra launcher bars) and the customization of Beautiful Widgets you can't go wrong.
LPP! i love how fast it is and the widgets are amazing! the ability to also resize a widget on the fly is wondering
I tend to use Launcher Pro Plus more than ADW but both are excellent.
Used to go back and forth between these 2 before lpp. the widgets just put it a step ahead, 4 me. both are good though
Launcher Pro with translucent widgets is the best!
what do you all mean by "fast"?

I love LP but im using ADW now and i havent seen any slowdowns at all and i like the themes, maybe since its newer to me im digging it more now, i been using launcher pro since it first came out
yea both are great launchers and i have been using LPP since it came out too but lately ive been using ADW since it has many different themes and with the TeamSilence Iced Galcier Rom V1.0 and the Gr8Gorilla 1.7 Ghz OC, ADW doesnt lag at all... so it gives me speed and extreme customization too IMO... my suggestion is download both then see which one suits your needs...
+1 for LPP. I love the calendar widget and the dock with the glass background.
First time trying to use launcher pro, downloaded it from Market and can not find it any where. Went into my app drawer and t isn't there, checked settings ect. and isn't there either. What the heck am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Click your home button. You should have an option to launch HTC Sense or Launcher Pro.
Click Launcher Pro and now you're using that as your home launcher. If you click on the Menu button from home, you'll now see a Preferences selection. That's how you can customize Launcher Pro.
If you decide you like it, when you click the home button, make sure you check the box to make it your default launcher.

Launcher

So, in peoples opinion. What is the best home launcher and why?

When using a Sense rom I prefer to just keep using the Sense launcher. When I had my Evo and primarily ran AOSP roms I like Launcher Pro Plus. I liked the customization it offered along with the Widgets. The Widgets are what I think seperates LPP from say ADW and others.

I gotta give it to ADW EX. LPP was "laggy" for me for some reason. ADW is user friendly and highly customizable. Props to Anders...
I personally use LPP as well.
I've tried ADW but like LPP better.
Only complaint with LPP is that after a reboot it lags to start, but that's it.

ii used to like the stock launcher, then got bored. Switched to LauncherPro Plus, and it was freakin awesome.. except it tended to lag. Then ii switched to ADW Plus. I don't troll, lol. I just gave my opinion that I like that one, . There was one of the guys/girls testing AOSP files on sense, they pulled them from the AOSP roms for the sensation, most seemed to work fine, so you could probably grab the AOSP launcher from that and give it a try, should work since I doubt it's name rosie.

How's sense compared to other skins?

So I'm still debating whether I want this phone or not. I currently own a galaxy nexus and I must say I like stock a lot. Ive never had sense and I wonder how it is compared to stock. I played with it at the store but I don't think it's enough to determine whether to purchase or not. I hate touch wiz and the moto skin but to me sense has always looked nice. Is it clunky or cluttered compared to stock ? Does the skin make the phone lag at all? Just some information about it would be nice since everywhere I read says it's ugly or bad.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
You hate moto skin ? The new one looks great on the razr m... Ok but to your question the sense skin is simply beautiful. They really took the time out to make it look great and the gpu can definitly handle it well. Keyboard sucks tho. And i wish they incorporated true mulittasking lioe touchwiz and lg ui did... One thing you will hate is that sense isnt optimized for the big display so luch homescreen and app drawer is wasted. This can be fixed by using nova or any other launcher.

Sense is fine and it runs fine on the DNA, it's not as intrusive as Touchwiz and it's not as simple as untouched Android. However that's exactly why I don't really like it. With my Nexus phone I get to experience the real android that I know and love. I get updates quick and I get to enjoy watching Android get better and better.
With my Samsung devices I know that I can't expect to get the latest from Google but I actually really like touchwiz for a lot of it's own things. Before the DNA I had the S III for a while and I loved certain functions like swiping with my palm to take a screenshot or putting the phone to my ear while texting someone to call that person. I loved being able to easily play a video on a corner while texting someone or just checking anything real quick. Touchwiz in my opinion manages to feel like a completely different experience.
With the Droid DNA, it feels like I'm just using a nicer looking version of original Android but without some of the nice things like swiping from my camera app to see the gallery right away and flick away pictures I didn't like. Not saying this is a bad thing, I'm sure plenty of people absolutely love that. Personally, i think it's lacking, but I still think the phone is amazing, I'll probably end up getting rid of my Nexus for a Note 2 and then adding some nice rom on this one to make it look Nexus...ish.

I personally love HTC Sense. However I have come to love the stock android experience.
Ive used sense from OG EVO, Evo LTE, and now DNA. Sense does some pretty cool things and its VERY polished. On the DNA there is no lag and thanks to the 2GB or ram i wouldnt worry at all about it. Ive never had a single issue with it. Its really organized and easy to find what you are looking for. I would say that its the most complete android OEM launcher. Icons are very polished same goes for apps and widgets. I really dont get why people dont like it... whats not to love about it? sure stock is wonderful but sense is just as good if not better.
Someone else mentioned multitasking windows. a side note to that... its only supported by a few samsung devices running crapwiz and its very under developed. Not even avail. to US devices (without root, please correct me if im wrong on this, i dont want to mislead anyone)
I would say Sense kinda ruined the rest of android launcher experiences due to the fact that Its just really that good. I dare you to give it a whole hearted run through and tell me that it just isnt all that... go ahead try it.

Those are just the widgets though, Sense is much more then the widgets. For example, you have all the great sharing options, the cool animations, lock screen widgets, and all the widgets you mentioned still have their apps you can open. So no, you don't lose sense just by switching launchers, you lose just the nice widgets, and you can find replacements for most of them in the play store. :good:

The Sense seems like an alternative launcher, where as the Touchwiz makes itself seem like a different OS entirely, due to all the Touchwiz gimmicks integrated through out the system.
I honestly love the Sense UI. I've used it since my Incredible, and every custom ROM I've put on that and my Rezound has had Sense. I don't find that it negatively affects performance in any way, and (for me at least) it greatly enhances the user experience. I was helping my girlfriend set up her new Asus Transformer Tablet running stock 4.1 Jellybean, and also her mom's new SIII, and the lack of widgets and functionality from Sense that I've now taken for granted was seriously bothering me. Plus, Sense is pretty

Ha I was also wondering this. Was just about to ask and saw this thread. I was wanting to make a sleek simple homescreen and someone said I couldn't change icons with stock launcher.
How easy is it to switch back and forth between launchers?
As easy as installing from the play store and running it.

But would it keep all the settings. Like could you set up two different launchers and have them set the way you want. Then just feel like going to a different look one day just because you feel like it lol.
Yes. A launcher is just an app like any other app. Settings get saved.
Nova, have used it since I got my Galaxy S2. Love it easy backup/restore change icons individually, and more!
Just installed Nova Launcher and gotta say its pretty cool. Here's what I created. Just two questions. Can nova launcher make the status bar clear? And I used simple text to change icons on the dock but it has black background behind the words. Can I make that clear somehow.
