root finally hear hopefully ???????? - HTC EVO 3D

We finally have root for hboot 1.50 hopefully, read up guys: http://phandroid.com/2011/12/26/htc...es/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

i hope so. im getting an evo 3d today and all tho i know how to use adb, i really don't feel like messin with it whenever i want to flash a rom...

But there is nothing in the article that ensures that hboot 1.50 will be able to be unlocked with this tool, I think that testing will need to be done.
They can be offering to unlock only past versions of the hboot...

Did you give it a go on your 1.5 hboot?

I was about to try it but i cant download the file, keeps cancelling itself at 3.7mb

Ill try this as soon I get a chance.

I would try to but I dont think our IT guy at work would like me to install all the adb files.

im trying this now

im almost 100% positive this doesnt work with 1.5

will this work, ill be getting my evo 3d in a few weeks time, it would be nice to get it rooted whens its out the box!

Mastajeff will be letting us know (hopefully) soon.

Just downloaded & might give it a go.

If nobody reports yay or nay on HBOOT 1.50 I will try it tonight when I get home.

I read some where it required HTC token bin file ??? so may be HTC way ? I waiting too ? Hopefully its works without HTC method.

This will NOT give you s-off if you have 1.5.

I'm already rooted on 1.5 with TWRP. Is there any reason I need to DL this? I'm sorry if that's a dumb question. I just recently rooted.

Yes, if you are S-On, youre gonna have to boot into recovery throu fastboot to flash ROMs and Kernels
with this you dont have to type the commands and you save time.
Does that mean I don't need to use Flash Image GUI anymore if I use this?

[Splash screens] Hope you enjoy them

I made these splash screens for me and my son and thought I would share.
Must have s-off to flash. These zips are for the CDMA version, Kfunk has a write up on how to flash on the GSM version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22641266&postcount=4 There is always a risk of bricking your phone with everything you do. Flash with caution. If something happens to your phone its your fault not mine. I have tested all of them personally and they all work. I hope you like them. Let me know what you think of them. More to come in the future. If you like my work hit the thanks button.
Instructions:
1) Rename the file downloaded to PG86IMG and place it on the root of your sdcard
2) Reboot into bootloader
3) When it asks if you want to apply the update, press Volume Up
4) When it is finished, press power to reboot
5) Congratulations! You will see the splash screen whenever you boot up or reboot.
6) Delete PG86IMG from the sdcard or move to another folder as long as its not on the root of your sd-card. This is optional, but if you don't, it will keep asking you if you want to apply the update whenever you boot into bootloader.

hboot 1.50 is S-On unclocked, and thus unable to flash splash screens or radios through bootloader - so no dice. As of now there is still no workaround for hboot 1.50 users.

Looks like I spoke about 9 hours too soon - it appears that someone has cracked the code to downgrade hboot 1.50 to 1.40 (at least if you have a Linux machine) and they are working on a windows workaround in the near future! Stay tuned - good times for all (hboot 1.50 usres that is!)

I am sure a Dev or someone can help determine where the download went. Most likely in the internal memory. Check on the root \cache.
