Hey, just to set this straight before i ask my question, i am not a total noob in terms of android and i have searched the web as much as i could before asking this. i have rooted my motorola cliq and asus transformer and installed custom kernels and roms on both.
Now, the problem i have is that i updated to the official 2.3.3 and i am trying to root now.
i tried these methods with all no luck:
SuperOneClick(v1.9.5 and the latest one)
Gingerbread.apk
z4root.apk
i even tried the method with abd but this error came up

Now, does anyone know an easy way to root this phone or fix my problem with abd...? also are there any ways to downgrade to 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 and just root from there and then install cwm and upgrade to cm7?
Thanks for all the help.
If it maters i have the .35 kernel.
Im running windows 7 64bit but i can use a vista or ubuntu machine if i have to..

Thank you for that quick reply.
I already tried that method though... or atleast i attempted to..
whenever i would type in adb devices i would get that picture i posted....
Holy crap, i feel like such an idiot....
ive been typing abd instead of adb this whole time. thanks for the help.
Now, my kernel ends in .35, can i flash any rom despite of that?
because i wanted to flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394007 and it says something about it being .32 based....
for. 32 based rom's you need to downgrade your baseband...search forum or check the FAQ in general section...

I tried to start the tool for the baseband flash and this error came up.
should i ignore it or am i doing something wrong..?
Nevermind, read the part about ignoring the warnings.
Wait, did i flash the right baseband?
i did the P500-v20G-baseband.7z and by kernel is still the same...
should i have flashed the P500-v10E-baseband.7z?

Here it is...this was created using the latest build released to me yesterday. It is completely stock but deodexed and zipaligned. I have been running this since last night and have not had one single hiccup. What excatly was addressed in this build i don't know i just know it runs very smoothly.
To flash you must be rooted and have the bootstrap recovery installed. If you're not rooted yet the official sbf will be linked below. If coming from a rooted MR3 a wipe is not required however i do recommend flashing the latest sbf rooting it then flashing my rom.

i will release it in the morning right now i am currently uploading my rom and not sure where you are but it's almost 130 am and i am beat.
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay it's morning!!!
I just tried flashing it through the Bootstrap Recovery. I had Mikey's ROM installed but I still show MR1 in my Build Info. I was unable to flash the YAY ROM because it generated an Error 0, whatever that means. Should I try wiping before I do the install? Do you think my download somehow got corrupted?

Will do. Unfortunately, it'll have to wait until I can make another pilgrimmage to the Sprint Store to re-root. Thanks for all of your work!

Weird.
It could be that you have a corrupted file(s). Have you tried downloading the files again?
Also, from where are you downloading the files? If you're downloading using your phone, you might want to try downloading using a PC.
As you might have noticed, this thread had 7 posts only in over a year.. That alone should let you know the quality of the rom.
Try FroyoPro. It's bug-free.

Hi. I just wanted to ask a few questions. Is there an easy way to unlock BL? Like one click button to unlock? Or another way besides using the flashtool? I'm using rooted x10i 2.3.3. I rooted my x10i using DooMLoRD’s Easy Rooting Toolkit. Do unlock BL also have that kind of toolkit? Your respond is much appreciated
Hey, fon an easy way if u r using 2.3.* rom, just with latest version of flashtool

remember unlocking bootloader is only optional. Stock based custom roms and kernels work with locked bootloader.
If you want to unlock bootloader, you will find a good guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Also no need to install xrecovery if you unlock bootloader. Just flash any custom kernel for unlocked bootloader

It's not due to custom kernel. Its because you must have ulbl. Now once unlocked, it is no more within the ambit of Sony. So the update appears as it can't trace the fw of the device. Even if you select to download and install... Nothing harmful will happen... But it won't get installed either. See screenshot

Nope I reflashed stock ROM and Kernel on my ULBL Xperia S many times update didn't prompt. It also took me days before flashing custom Kernel because I was testing an app at that time. After flashing a custom Kernel, update prompted even I'm on an updated stock ROM. The best way is to freeze or disable the update center using TB, Link2SD or something similar.

Hi Guys, as requested by some of you ,this is a rooted rom for the i8190L Only!
DO NOT INSTALL THIS IN THE i8190 or the i8190N !
This rom is only for latin based [i8190L] device.
To minimize problems the rom only includes the system partition, this way your kernel etc dont get messed if anything goes wrong.
I recomend that you get your original rom before flashing just in case.
check for your original rom HERE
The rom is based on Claro Ecuador.
