Anyone notice this bug? Nothing is shown. We should see a list of apps & the graph is of only system data & thus incomplete.
NOTE: This thread has a lot more data and screenshots
I noticed this on mines also.
Same here.
Did you guys take the OTA? I did (no need for root atm, figured, why not?).
Yes I notcied this the first day I got the prime.
Its kinda of a bug. Just press the mins on battery and you will see the details.
Prime was really rushed.

Funny enough, the original Transformer had this bug as well when it shipped. It was fixed in an update.

Noticed the same bug here too. I'm hoping it will get fixed in an update soon.

ICS did not fix this for me.
i am experiencing the same bug as well...
I guess this "bug" is due to the fact that we are not using the normal 3.x kernel but an old 2.6.x version.
I guess ASUS didn't want to send the Prime out with 2.6.x kernels so they just skipped that feature in their implementation.
Hopefully we get the 3.x kernel soon
If you read that link I added in post #1, it has more data and screenshots for people who are wondering about this "bug".
And yeah, it is a kernel thing more than likely.
I have this bug in Cyanogenmod 9 rc1.

this is the wrong place to post this dude. this bug was fixed by asus in their stock updates, so no one ever had a fix or work around for this. your best bet is posting about this in the cm9 threads, or creating a question thread in the q/a subforum. is this a known bug on cm9? if so, you won't get much out of posting your issue that everyone else is also experiencing. cheers

No matter what ICS I install the wifi keeps on disconnecting, I keep having to switch the wifi on/off or reboot the phone to reconnect, have tried about 3 other modems but the problems still keeps on happening. Using Gingerbread I have no issues. Any ideas as its frustrating as wanna use ICS but for reliability I am keep on finding myself going back to Gingerbread. Any ideas why this keeps happening or can someone recommend a modem which is stable on ICS I live in the UK if that makes any difference. Cheers
Dude,
First, their are many ICS threads, exery type of rom have its own thread so post in the appropriate thread
Second,This is alpha/beta roms,so expect bugs
Third, this is not Q/A section post in Q/A next time if u have question

WIFI working fine here on XXLPB. If you install any 3rd party wifi managers that are yet to be compatible with ics it might be a problem
same issue here, did rollback, all good again..
I have wifi disconnect issues on all LPB roms except CM9 which I'm sticking with as its way awesome.

I think it's rubbish were now in Feb and still don't have a stable ICS and by the times it's out the SG3 will be available. Samsung really need to get the act together.
So I am extremely impressed with JackpotClavin's ICS rom on my 5.0 US player. Aside from bluetooth/camera, which I don't use that much anyway.
The thing is, wifi stopped working after about a day. I was "connected" but the wifi icon was grey and could not load any pages at all. So I searched around the forums for a possible fix that might have been implemented in other devices.
In case anyone else has been having this issue, here's the fix! Just DL and flash away!

Why are we still using a 2.6 kernel? Isn't ICS supposed to be a 3.x kernel? What are the benefits that we are missing out on by not having a 3.x kernel? Is there any difference in performance or features? I have no idea about any of this. I am hoping that someone can shed a little light on the subject for me.

2.6.40 is 3.0
The prime is running 2.6.39 and 2.6.40 was the version that became Linux 3.0. We're just before 3.0. The big issue is that Android develops outside the Linux tree so they have to port Linux changes in to Android. That takes a while. The good news is that Android was merged in to the Linux source tree recently so they should track more closely in the future.

Flagship nexus/4.0.1 already ran 3.0.8, so that's Nvidia fault.

No it's nVidia's fault. The standard Tegra3 kernel is 2.6.39.
But anyway, we are not missing much at all.
As Gary posted Nvidia Google and Asus has a meeting this week. So at least there is hope they start pushing things forward soon It could very well be that the "gaming issues" discussed in another thread are related to the kernel as well^^ Not that i have an idea what exactly the kernel is doing but its the only explanation i could see with my limited knowledge
.21 is pretty great so far, but we're not quite there yet.

Apache incorporated the 3.1 kernel in the TF201 CM9 nightlys about 2 weeks ago (sorry - I realize you probably know this ). A lot of people were complaining about it since they were having problems, and he reverted to 2.6. I was pretty impressed with 3.1 - my wifi would occasionally drop off but the power consumption was a load better than the 2.6 kernel.
If anyone is unlocked and interested in how 3.1 runs on TF201, search back through the CM9 thread in the Development section. I am pretty sure that the 05/10 nightly uses the 3.1 kernel...

Only the 3.2 and 3.3 kernels have made substantial ARM and Android related changes. 3.0 and 3.1 are effectively still 2.6.39 when it comes to features.

Gummy is sweet - I really liked it before I went back to my personal favorite - Eos Cornerstone nightlys. I used CM9 for several weeks but moved away from it when Gummy appeared. I will go back to it at some point - they're definitely pushing things in terms of development like using the 3.x kernel, getting the dongle working on a non-stock rom etc
Actually 3.x kernel has no essential features that must be implemented to Prime. I can count some I treat really useful: memory management changes, driver for Tegra AES hardware (will affect SSL and VPN performance, I think), maybe some changes in networking. Nothing we can't live without
Am I right?
Other Device with Android ICS and kernel 3+, work more smoother then with kernel 2,6.
And Google add Kernel 3 to Galaxy Nexus. If there is no more changes? why they do it?
But what about rumors. Asus Doing Kernel 3+ for Prime or We never get it?
Honestly I don't need more smoothness to my Prime and I even didn't overclock the processor yet.
Let Google experiment with Nexus, I need more stable software. There's enough bugs in the Prime, I don't need any more. Of course I'll try custom ROM with the new kernel, but only if it bring something really useful.
Does MeanRom solve the multitasking issues?
I'm also wondering how it affects battery life, my battery life on stock is pretty great already.

Mine miltitasks ok but there is this issue of the browser reloading pages when you go back to it. Which can be a problem if you were writing something, or filling out a form, for example. In that case when you go back to the browser you have to start over. Not good.

CM10 just moments ago fixed video, so nothing major is broken anymore. I think the video is only standard def right now, but I bet HD video is coming within a few days. That was really the last thing needing major fixing honestly. I can't link you to CM10 unfortunately. Go to CM9 thread and look at page 149.

Well the release notes include the following statement: "Multitasking improvements to reduce background task killing," thus the question.
Good call. It is not fixed though, only slightly improved. Your browser pages will absolutely still reload, so forms partially completed will be gone.

Thanks Dan, so is the page reloading issue solved in CM10?
Absolutely perfect in CM10, or any AOSP ROM (to my knowledge). That's the way it was designed to work - HTC are the ones who went and screwed it all up.

Well I downloaded it, and I guess I will try it.
Only issue is that the HTC keyboards are THE BEST - for me anyway. No matter what other keyboard I try, I end up backing up and retyping so many times it's maddening...

Dude... SwiftKey 3 is the greatest keyboard in existence. Bar none. Get the free trial and you'll never go back.
I can type like every letter of a word wrong and it still correctly guesses my word. The algorithms it uses are incredible. Plus, you can swipe back across the keyboard to delete words! Awesome feature.
Thank me later. Go enjoy.

I see some people say that its fix the flickering. Do you know how to backup the kernel? Even though someone suggesting to pershoot saying that A1 kernel solve the flickering problem, but still he doesn't do anything on that. So i'm assume it may affected the CM 10.1 in some way.
I just wanted to some extra precaution before flashing that.

Just came here to say that I actually had the same question and I think it's a meaningful one And now I'm off to try Carbon-Mackay...
No best ROM?
Well, I actually think you can measure the quality grade of a ROM. Features, battery usage, number and relevance of bugs, suport from developers... there are many facts you can look into, that will give you a good overview about a ROM.
Then you can apply your likings (theme, menus, gadgets, included apps... whatever) to all those facts to create a blurry view of what kind of ROM you're dealing with, so you can start never-ending discussions about which is the best ROM.
Mix it up with a great number of individual recipes for failure (wipe, gapps, format /system, format sdcard, recovery version, bootloader, modem version...) and we're finally lost and blind.
I'm on SGT7 build from 2013/10/20 and overall it is in my opinion, without any doubt, the best ROM I've ever have. I've been on CM10.1 nightlies for a long time, and very happy with them too, but SGT7 is a noticeable step ahead.
AAccount latest 4.3 ROMs made me a very good impression too. Unfortunately I lack the neccesary time to fairly test both of them, and SGT7 was almost perfect for my just out-of-the-box, so I made my call.
I've never been on carbon-mackay, though...
Finally, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the developers. They're doing a fantastic job. They're extended the life of our devices, and we should all thank them for it. The devices are usually pricey and they don't receive a penny from that money. You're my heroes, devs! Carry on the good job.
THANKS
Running CM10.2. So far so good.
