Hey guys,
I'm using a GSM prepaid sim with my MoPho right now, and this sim gives me a network message each time I send a text or make a call which tells me my new remaining balance and call charge. This notification uses the default ringtone and also vibrates. How do I change this? At the least I would like to turn of the vibration since I have vibration turned completely off with everything else right now. Anyone know?
Thanks!
Strange....for many of us...that doesnt even work because lack of USSD support on Photon..
What ROM you are using ?
Well it doesent really work... It shows me a notification but the text is wrong. There is just a box like character and nothing else. But I still get the notification and a tone and vibration...
I'm running the latest stock rom, no root
Anyone have some ideas?

Hi there..
I have the t-mobile G2 TOUCH, hero that is, and I cant seem to find out how I could change the ringtone for my notifications.
The thing is. When I change it like it should normaly work, it keeps on giving me the lousy and way to loud t-mobile notification sound.
when i receive a mail it does give the chosen sound, but when i receive a text message it gives me the **** t-mobile tone again.
I did i guess everything i could (to getting the maps on the root for ringtone, alarm and notifications. I can see the files, but like i said before, i only hear them on my email receiving and not my text messages.
anyone familiar with this problem and if so, got an answer, or should i go back to the store and swap the fone now it is still possible...
thnx
The message tone is different to the notification tone. Go to messages - menu - settings - sound and change it there.
you most definetly are my hero
alsmost returned the poor thing haha
i never guessed that nor would i have found that one!
many thanks
Your welcome
Hi all,
I was wondering whether anyone has any advice on an issue i'm experiencing at with my Hero.
Whenever I receive a call the ringtone (and vibrate) do not function at all. This is despite having them both enabled. I have tried formatting my phone completely and trying different Roms (such as Cronos and superhero) It works fine for a while after a new ROM install but soon after stops working again.
When I receive a call the mute icon appears on the notification bar temporarily. I also have lost the ability when i receive a call to push the volume buttons on the side up and down to change the volume.
Can anyone think why this might be happening? Could it be down to a program such as juice defender? (i have tried disabling it to no luck!)
Any help is appreciated

This may be something really simple or not but when someone sends me a mms i get a beep telling me ive received a message but its still downloading so i get another beep once its downloaded and shown. Anyway of turning that first notification off? Im getting annoyed picking my phone up and then waiting, id rather it just downloaded and then gave me one notification.
Im using handcent but happens on stock too. Is it a feature? Cos i cant find a way of turning that first notification off.
anybody?..
So I have an international GS3 and I've tried stock, CM9, AOKP and Paranoid Android and on all of them the call forwarding icon in the notification bar stays there even though I can receive calls on my number. I checked with my carrier and they say call forwarding isn't on. I tried doing a factory wipe/reset to no avail. I'm not sure what else to try and do. I popped my SIM into my old 4S and the call forwarding icon showed up but I can turn it off in the settings but when I put it back in my GS3 it's still there. I tried a different sim card and no issues.
Edit: thanks to this thread I managed to fix this. I just put a number for it to forward to (even though it wasn't actually forwarding to any number) then I disabled it and it's gone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216643
Did the upgrade to Jelly Bean a few days back, while call forwarding was enabled (not sure if this is what caused it). Now, the "forwarding all calls" notification is always on.
I turn forwarding on and off every day, but the notification doesn't go away. Tried to use an app that uses the MMI code method, tried to remove all the forwarding options and put them back on, no dice.
Going into the settings themselves, everything works as it should, and I can turn forwarding on and off (and it works as expected). It's just the notification
Did everything but wipe my phone. Call forwarding shows up even without a SIM card in the phone.
Any suggestions? Anyone else get this?

I have the identical situation - upgrade to 4.1, icon stays on, tried the same things to remove it as you describe, icon never goes away. No help from AT&T or Samsung. I have been unable to find a solution.
I have a DNA that I am trying to let a friend use, but when he puts his SIM in the phone it doesn't fully activate. He has tried two SIM cards and I have tried another persons SIM and it will only get data. I changed some settings in a manual programming to his phone number and he could receive sms but still not able to make calls or send text messages.Whenever it dials out, it makes no sound, no dial tone and it says "null" in the upper left corner of the dialer. Has anyone heard of this or know anything that I can do to get his phone working. It is completely stock no s-off not rooted nothing. It has been factory reset too many times to count...
Edit: Looks like the OTA got it working!
