I think it has something to do with the names of the skins. Like RedBeats wants to replace MusicLover which is found in the HTCHub. JoelZ rom doesn't come with skins, unless you download them from the hub. When I installed other skins from the forums I mentioned, they did work though

Has anyone got these to work? If so, which rom? I'm going to try bringing back my status bar & applying one of the non-transparent status bar skins. Getting frustrated over here. lol

im running wtsb hydro v2.5 and i was able to use the themes but when i tryed to get into my people app my phone rebooted so i removed them. im hopping we can get someone with knowledge of evo3d skin making to help this guy out with this great work. it must be something different between the phones.

I am using Joelz sense 3.5 ROM, I did restart it...but it didn't do anything...the skin doesn't shows up!!!...

Someone in the Sensation forums said these replace the ones from HTCHub & I believe they're right. During install of these, it says this will replace PurplePassion, MusicLover etc. My problem is that I can't even get into the hub. HTC emailed me and said they are having server issues and to give them 24-48hrs
OP...Is there anyway to make these so they don't replace the ones from the hub?

You changed the manifest and it wont compile?
Did you change the folder that holds the m10 to what you called the apk?
^^ Thanks for giving a heads up on this cause there's got to be a way to not replace the skins from the hub. Way back when we didn't have root there were skins added to our preinstalled skins..didn't have to replace anything.
You shouldnt have to replace anything... If change the androidmanifest.xml and rename the apk to whatever you want and then match the ending of your name to the shared folder that holds the m10.
EXAMPLE:
the skin could be named com.htc.skin.greenfrogs
the m10 folder would be named greenfrogs.

You can try extract the apk from a system dump, but your going to most likely need the HTC framework in order to get it running.
You need the Rosie utilities and then Rosie only works on sense... that is why the sense keyboard doesn't work on AOSP Rom... your pretty much out of luck on this one

it's not themed enough for you? I'm on the newest and it mostly had everything right granted a few white icons in framework and sysui. if you're talking about apps themed outside the rom then check within the past 40 recent pages on the main thread. there's an inverted gapps zip to flash. only thing that didn't work well was talk.apk.
I get what he's saying. The status bar theming is not all there. Just that alone would be huge.
the icons that were left I did on my own and reflashed which was quick and easy since I have certain icons in 33b5e5 saved for upgrades. the white carrier font and white font in quick settings are xml based
Yeh I mean its deff themed nice but I just want something a little more stock looking I love the rom its fast and smooth and my battery lasts forever.

He literally themed as many apks as he could think of and removed all the green themes along with the framework and system. Took time.
Make sure you do a Nandroid first, then flash in recovery.

In reference to rom version actually. However, it works fine for 1.4 as the 1.4 updated rom was not rebased.

Neo did you add the mms.apk? Also the framework is meant for the 5 point lock if you want the stock one. Ill need to update it for ya.
Also I didn't make any of the pngs. Most were in the bluesky.apk from HTC skin and or on Google.

Yes. Yesterday I downloaded the theme, added both the apks you wanted dropped into them, deleted the originals from the box, and re-uploaded the theme.

You don't need to edit the .9 in a complicated way to change the colour, a simple colour mod works fine. The keyboard on the other hand, I'm still working on it as well.
Nah, I think for text bubbles its diff. I changed the color to white but its stretched weird and the text is misaligned.

By opening the file that I named up there n painting it white. It works with everything else except for that. Can you try making it white for me n see if it works if it worked for you?

Its a .9 patch PNG. And if you use the program gimp it will color correctly without needing to decompile for the images to be editable. If you need anymore assistance just any so also, I get off school early tomorrow (10:30 am) so I'll be on to help

wait... you want sense 4 style text bubbles? you can just take those images out of a sense 4 mms.apk and put them in yours lol (or at least it should work that way.)
also, the mms.apk from sense 4 will most likely work on 3.6

Instructions are there. You Must flash the sense_4.zip . Flash it through your recovery. Regarding S-On users. I don't think your S-on status will affect your flash.

I installed the zip then rebooted then installed the skin, but the skin is not appearing in the personalize menu.
It only affects the Dockbar, not the scrolling, not the App scrolling. just, the dock bar

Does this actually work on the EVO? Given that its for the Sensation XL I just wondered if it actually worked...
Keep getting installation failures.
I messaged the guy who originally made that mod for Rosie, he said he doesn't think it can be applied to the EVO 3D due to different screen resolution. It was originally made for the XL. If someone were to mod the mod itself to work with our qHD resolution, it'd probably work

This is an old thread. Doesn't work for us Evo 3D users, If you want a skin that looks like Sense 4 I recommend Sade Skin. Quick Google oughta fix you right up.

^ Thanks for the clarification. I hadn't tried this yet myself, so I assumed it was a matter of oversight on not downloading the file. In any case, might be worth checking out the Sade Skin that Jim pointed out.
EDIT: just checked out the skin on the Play Store. Only a 4.0 rating. Numerous complaints of it slowing down the phone. No thanks!

I got the skin to load and display in skin chooser by changing the version number in the manifest xml. Anyways, the dockbar did not change when I applied skin. So now I'm on the task to see if it's possible to theme the 3.6 dockbar to look like 4.1?? Any help or point me to right direction would be appreciated.

Some ideas:
1. Edit the png to have transparency on the sides and look like the 4.1 bar in the middle. It would take trial and error to get the sizing right and you'd have to be careful if it's a .9.
2. Make it transparent and then edit the wallpaper to have a faux dock. Of course you'd have to do that for all the walls you use.

If the png is in the res folder than you don't need it to be licensed, but if it's in m10 then you do (or it will get watermarks). But yes, VTS will work.

Its an edit in rosie assets (m10) using vts you need to open rosie and the open the rosie_screen x 10 and look for nav_bar_png turn it from false to true
