I swear if I see someone mention any sim unlocking services that member will be getting an instant ban.
To OP, use an internet search engine to unlock the sim for your device or call your carrier.
At this time there are no "hacks" to do it.
Device? or SIM?

Actually, his question is how to unlock 'sim card', not the phone...
To OP, if that's what you are asking, your carrier should be eager to give you a new sim card for them to activate a new account for you.
Or you can buy a device that can program sim cards. But I don't really think you can change the carrier ID with such device. Also, remember that not all the sim cards are the same. You can't sometimes program old sim card to works on newer phones. For instance, the Amaze requires the newest one to activate wifi calling, etc.
Or, maybe you just wanted to unlock the device simlock.. Hehehe.

Actually his posts says
"how can i unlock my simcard for work with another network?! "
So I'm guessing that he wants to unlock his device to use a different network's simcard. I could be wrong though. Even if you unlocked the sim card, you couldn't use that sim for someone elses network. For example I couldn't use a t-mobile simcard to use on AT&T Wireless. Even if I could... what would be the point? To save $10?

I don't know if this question has been asked before, but is it possible to unlock the Thunderbolt to work on the AT&T network? I recently got a Thunderbolt from my friend who is on the verizon network, but I'm on the AT&T network, I would like to use this phone on AT&T, I love this phone too much.
No you can't because Verizon uses CDMA, AT&T uses GSM.

Actually the sim's are the same size, I put the AT&T sim into it and its the same size.
I just wasn't sure if it was possible, there are a lot of Unlocking sites that claim to be able to unlock it using the IMEI number. So Im guessing its fake and that there is no way to unlock it.

It can be unlocked to use on another CDMA x LTE provider, such as Metro PCS.
I was thinking they made the switch over to the micro ones... sorry i stand corrected on size
yeah, you can stick the sim in there all you want but it isn't going to convert an LTE or CDMA radio into a GSM radio with AT&T bands.
Hey guy/gals I have had my Aria now for near half a year.
I got it with AT&Ts Hostile take over of the Alltel cellular in my area.
Well needless to say AT&T really blew my skirt up so I went and got a DROID Inc2 from Verizon!
Anyway...
...back to what I was saying. I have this nearly untouched Aria that I have S-off and no service. I have set it up with CM7 and CWM v2.5.0.7 so it can charge while off.
I have been using it to stream video of my fish tank on USTREAM to my 5yo Niece, and occasionally as a backup MP3 player but the lock screen says "No SIM Card" "Please insert SIM card" I have taken the SIM card out so I am not inadvertently using AT&T service so they can bill me more for service that does not work in my area.
I would like to know if there is a way to hide this?
I have already tried to addro.carrier=wifi-only to the build.prop but it didn't work.
Any Ideas?
Anyone else doing this?

Hi,
Just got my AT&T i-717 Note for a week. Recently flashing the I717 UCLE2 leak and thinking about get the SIM unlock code with one of the online unlock service for my Note. However, after I searched and read. I went ahead and check my note to see if it is unlock by using the *#7465625#. It pops up with the dialog as follows:
Personalizatiob Status
Network Lock
[OFF]
Network Subset Lock
[OFF]
SP Lock
[OFF]
CP Lock
[OFF]
Does this mean my Phone is SIM unlock?
Thanks
Anyone?? Can someone help answer the question ? Please?
Yes. it is unlocked. I got the same when i type in the code.

This is what I got. It's kinda surprised me that the SIM is unlock. I just got my brand new Galaxy Note for a week from AT&T and I thought they are SIM lock by default. That's why I hope someone could tell me if this is true, so I don't have to spend money to unlock.

I got a warranty replacement from at&t last week and I've never unlocked it and it says the same thing. I will try a T-Mobile sim card in it later today and will let you know. It's running CM9 Update 3.
EDIT: Nevermind, I couldn't test it... everyone has a T-Mobile Micro Sim because of the iPhone 4 :/ Sorry.

The micro sim works just fine, just align it the same way, and it will work, I have my own lte cut out sim that I switch between my note and 4S.
I returned a white one after unlocking it because it had back light bleeding on the soft keys. Someone out there is sure to get it as a refurb.
I bought my note from amazon out right and it says it is unlocked as well when I type in the code from the op. I have a hard time believing this. More then likely this is a glitch from installing the leaked ICS. When I get home I will try my rogers sim

Nope, it isn't unlocked. I tried my T-Mobile SIM and it just says "Invalid SIM" and wants me to insert a unlock code. It does show signal bars though but when you try making a call it says network not registered.
Just used cellunlocker.net last night on mine. Took about an hour or so to get the email. I'm on tmo so I was completely without a phone for the whole hour. Longest hour ever. At any rate, the process was smooth and easy. $25, easy breezy.

Ok first you have give it time between posts...asking for assistance or info...you have give it time to get your issue's addressed...XDA is a world wide community...
have you taken it to your carrier to see if they can put in on the network,
you prob have to get you imei set with the carrier what carrier are you using, say verizon on your profile is this what you are using?
I had to do this with my carrier on a different phone, call them or go by the carrier store...
you said when you unlock it, it wont connect to att...is an att note...why you unlock it for an att sim? or am i not reading it right?
Thanks for the reply... I have spent so much time looking for a solution online and nothing... well I unlocked it for t-mobile first and got network unlock successful. Then that stupid circle stayed and never gave me signal. Now I dont care what carrier its on I just want it working but not even its original carrier will work (ATT). I called cellunlocker.net and they said to call att. i called att and they blew me off as well. I called att and they said its not unlockable?? what the heck does that mean?? its a gsm phone!! So now im stuck with no signal ever since i entered the unlock code.
Same
I was having same issues my apn came up with cingular. Ive never had them so im playing with those settings now...we will see if this helps

Cingular APN is OK. But you need to call at&t store and ask them to reprovision your sim so you can use LTE/4g network (if it's available).
When they change that (it doesn't change your rate plan) your APN will change to PTA.

When you unlock its a permanent change in your phone that let's you use any GSM carrier sim card.
You have to flash a modem compatible with the network. That is your base and number. For at&t the current modem is ULCF5, and its good for all North America, except T-Mobile, Wind(Canada).

You're thinking about unlocking your phone. Why? Travel out of the US, try other carriers, resale. Can you hurt your phone? No, and its easy. Is this something you have to do everytime you flash a rom? No, its a permanent, one time process. Do I need to revert to a stock rom to unlock? You can easily find out.
First, go get your unlock code. Now they are free direct from at&t. You can call customer service or use the live chat on at&t support site. See this thread (credit goes to mucus_android):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30664587
To see if you will need to revert to stock either (1) put in a non at&t sim and boot up. You should see:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Or (2) on the dialpad #7465625*638*# and see:
If you don't see either of these screens you will have to return to a stock rom and modem to unlock. After you enter the code you will see
You can return your phone to your preferred rom. Network lock is permanent. Flash all you want.
That looks about right to me!
Everyone please get the word out that you can unlock your phone yourself! No need for a middle man!
XDA is no longer worth my time.

I mentioned that and she tried, the code came back and I'm now unlocked. With an ATT SIM in the phone it will need the carrier code, which they will also give you.

When I called on the phone, the person just asked if I paid full price for the phone or if was an upgrade. I told them I traded with some one and then she just tried to get the unlock code. A minute or two later she came back and told me it was successful and gave me the code right then. I punched in the code with my AT&T SIM using the code rangercaptain listed above and it just worked. No carrier code needed. I'm not sure what happened there, but it seems like they will give it to you either way if you can unlock.

As the instructions say, use other carrier's sim or use the dialer code given to access the network control screen.
yeah, being imei specific would make a lot more sense.
Yeah if it was generic, people would leak it and it would be very easy to find.

If the dial code in the OP doesn't bring up the unlock screen another sim won't either. You will have to make a nandroid, then flash a stock ICS or GB rom, enter the code and unlock, then restore your backup.

Agreed. Sim lock is from the old days when your personal info and contacts were stored on the sim card because most phones didn't have much ram.
